This is “REAL” music !!! No pyrotechnics, flashy lights, and all that add on crap. Real music from orchestras, no studio computer music. Just two pros giving each other respect they both deserve. Fantastic!!!
I think that Harri was just right at 2:50 when he said this was one of Brown's finest vocal performances. I think Brown knew exactly who he was singing with, and he rose to the occasion -- surely he cherished his duet with Pavarotti as one of the highlights of his life.
What’s not to love?! Two of the greatest voices of all time. It was perfect 🔥
They were professionals and obviously had mad respect for one another. Thank you for sharing this it's the first I've seen it ❤️😎
Never be afraid to react to anything with Pavarotti. 🎶🎶🎶🎤🎤
And this was done towards the end of their careers, James Brown was 69 here and Pavarotti was 67. 2002.
What an outstanding pairing of two absolute musical geniuses, Pavarotti and James Brown. So enjoyable. And the orchestra, just a beautiful accompaniment. Great reation Harri. Thanks Harri and Cynthia. Great choice. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦

Thank you Mary
James Brown finally with the size of orchestra he deserves. So beautiful the melding of the voices and orchestration and the adoration of the two of them.
This has been my most favorite performance of James and Pavarotti it has always been the moment I heard it some 10 yrs ago if not longer...And it still gives me chills... Pavarotti was criticized by the opera world for doing these kinds of performances... LOL... And besides his Loving them I think he also enjoyed giving them the metaphorical Finger... doing them...

And not a Republican in the crowd!
Both these guys are just awesome, from different worlds, but that is what makes the world go round
One of the most beautiful collaborations I've ever seen . Perfection. Bravo Bravo❤❤❤🎼🎼🎵🎵🎵🎤🎤
When I saw James towards the end of his career he danced and went off, especially on this song. One of the greatest highlights of my life. ❤
I too avoided the video for awhile. My daughter told me I should watch it,and Wow, it brought chills to my whole body. It was Magnificent.
James Brown Love Luciano Pavarotti and Pavarotti loved him. In fact he once said, I've always wished I could do it James Brown does, but I will never be able to. I find that so moving.
two masters of theyr craft. No way it could be wrong. legendary
That gave me chills the first time I saw it.
Watched this show when it aired and the crowd went wild.
This gave me shivers , goosepimples all over ❤❤❤
Gah, so powerful and so fun. And those strings…. Breathtaking.
Wow who would have thought that they could do a duo together. Brilliantly done. Thanks Harri
That was tasty! I feel more cultured after listening to this!
Love this Cynthia ! This is the 45 he autographed for me ! I've seen a few of these with Pavarotti~ they're great! 🙂💯👍✌
Greatest version of this song ever
Today I am thankful for videos that record and hold for us the love and respect and enormous talent of these two fantastic men!--in a man's world!!!
I think this is the same video I saw, and if it is you may have cut it off at the end. They go back to a video of them leaving in a hallway when a report yells out "How did it feel James?" and James Brown yells back with a big grin "I FEEL GOOD!". I thought it was pretty funny. Good reaction anyway! I thought it was very impressive and moving. This was one of a series of concerts Pavarotti did a series of concerts between 1998 and 2003 in Modena, Italy to benefit many worldwide charities, called "Pavoratti & Friends". This concert, in May of 2002 was to raise money for Angolan refugees. Other guests in this concert included Grace Jones, Sting and Lou Reed. James Brown passed away 4 years after this concert and Pavoratti passed away 10 months later.

The city was Modena...just in case someone would want to find it in a map.

@@giuliogrifi7739 Thanks for the correction. I often find typos in my posts that I have to edit afterwards, though I'm not sure if that was a typo or a missed autocorrect. :)
Pavarotti also has duets with Bryan Adams, Sting, Steven Tyler and others.
This just made my day! What a seemingly unlikely collaboration that turns out to be wonderful!! Just fantastic Harri! Thank you so much Cynthia. Wow! 🌺✌️

Thanks Debbie.
Thank you Harri. And I know what you mean about the strings and especially when they pluck them it just has such a wonderful sound to it. I also read that Pavarotti was singing the chorus of the song in Italian.☯️
Great request Cynthia. Wonderful performance. I throughly enjoyed it. Enjoyed your reaction Harri.

Thank you D.
Pure enjoyment!!
Wow! Thanks for sharing this! Utterly fantastic version I had never heard. Awesome…
Pavarotti is singing, basically, "what is a man without love? He is a fool who lives without love". I don't remember the exact translation, but it complements James Brown's lyrics. This concert is part of a series of benefit concerts that Pavarotti did with many popular music stars: Stevie Wonder, Annie Lennox, Tracy Chapman, and many more. It was his dream to sing popular music and to do these benefit concerts after retiring from opera. You may be familiar with Pavarotti already, but if you are not, check out more of his benefit concerts, and be sure to check out his unforgettable operatic work: "Nessun Dorma" (there are so many videos of this aria over the years, please do not review the Three Tenors solo performance, instead see him perform with Placido Domingo and Jose Carreras, Nessun Dorma, The Three Tenors.) "Una Furtiva LaGrima", "Vesti La Giuba", "NO! Pagliaccio Non-Son!". No one had reviewed this last aria from the third act of "Pagliaccio". I promise, you will not be disappointed, it is jaw-dropping!
EPIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When two masters meet between a truly great song. RIP James and Luciano. We will not hear their like again.❤❤
Greatness personified and live!
Out of the world
Blessed both them legends! Pavarotti did so many good and different things, not just opera. If it interests you, try "Sepultura - Roots Bloody Roots (feat Pavarotti)", where he ventures into the metal genre. It's priceless!
You are getting some absolute goodies this month. We might be overloading his sweet tooth this month Cynthia!!!!!

One of the best things on the internet.
Harri, loving your channel for introducing me to such fine performances I didn't know existed! This is superb!
Pavarotti also sang “Perfect Day” with Lou Reed!
Pavarotti sang with other singers- Eric Clapton, Barry White and George Michael.
Pavarotti: Man/(the mankind) chases power but he doesn't know that the great limit has to be how it will be done. In the palm he holds an idea who does not live, that in his fantasy… he wanted if you don't notice that then nothing makes sense anymore if one lives only for oneself. ------------------------------------------------------------------ It's a Man's Man's Man's World lyrics Artist: Luciano Pavarotti •Featuring artist: James Brown Album: Pavarotti & Friends Brown: This is a man's world, this is a man's world and But it wouldn't be nothing, nothing, nothing Without a woman or a girl You see, man made the cars To take us over the road Man made the trains To carry heavy loads Man made electric lights To take us out of the dark And man made the boat for the water, Like my bible says Noah made the ark This is a man's world But it wouldn't be nothing, nothing, nothing Without a woman or a girl Pavarotti: L'uomo rincorre il potere ma lui non sa che il grande limite ha da essere come si fará. Brown: Man thinks about a little bitty baby girl And a baby boy Man makes then happy Because man makes them toys And after man made other things he can Man makes liras, pesos, dollars, rupees To buy for every good woman and every man This is a man's world, Pavarotti: Nulla ha piú senso se si vive solo per sé. Brown: But it wouldn't be nothing, Without a woman or a girl. Pavarotti: Solo per sé. Brown: He's lost in the wilderness, He's lost in bitterness. Brown: This is a man's world, yeah.
This is about when the two go bad there going to die couple years left to go it’s sad put greatness comes through great music
No closed captions,my love! I am deaf!
What in the Opera Funk.
Pavarotti was dying of cancer at the time
Harri, you cut it off too soon, they show them going back stage and someone asks James how he feels and he responds, "I FEEL GOOD" (da da da, etc)
Watch the Pavarotti and Clapton duo.
Now you got to hear it in Italian
Like same one tells A Mustang and a Ferrari
Time for you to react to Pavarotti and Celine Dion - "I Hate You, Then I Love You" - both in English.
Watch it's five a clock, ore spring summer winter and fall Greek band 1960 ,'tis
Oh no, I can't believe you did that. You cut off the ending of the video, it wasn't over. And not once, but twice! You don't want to know what's coming out of my mouth right now. As experienced as you are, I shouldn't have to tell you this: NEVER STOP THE VIDEO BEFORE IT ENDS. I swear to you, you missed something good. Ten seconds more. You couldn't wait another ten seconds? You are going to want to see it. Maybe you have already seen it, don't forget, we are waiting to see it too.
Very strange pairing. Pavarotti was not a spring chicken here either. What a voice! Whoo! Great reaction to the voices and the strings. Bravo! Bravo!
If you liked this (and you obviously did) then please check out Pavarotti and U2 performing Miss Sarajevo. See if you can hold back the tears ...
I am sure the feminist hate this song

Good. It is a Man's World.
