Jaeger Sports Baseball Throwing & Pitching Program -- Arm Health, Strength, Velocity & Conditioning

Спорт

Baseball trainer Alan Jaeger explains how to build arm health, strength, velocity, endurance and improved recovery period through the Jaeger Sports throwing program. This video addresses the main ingredients to the program including arm circles, a workout with J-Bands surgical tubing, long toss throwing and post-throwing conditioning.

    I've been doing Jaeger bands and Alan's throwing program for almost 2 years now. I'm a 6'3 left handed pitcher and started on the varsity team at my high school my freshman year. I'm currently a Sophmore and have topped out at 85 mph. These routines really work and have really shown improvement for me. I highly recommend the Jaeger sports baseball program if you take the game seriously.

    External rotation even through ease of motion, because of an upward arm path. This is the greatness of the program. To externally rotate in a short throw, you either have to know a perfect arm slot or have perfectly powerful hip/shoulder separation

    trust me guys if u wana build arm strength this is how u do it!! long toss this is what got my arm strength where it needs to be.. i will also add what helped me being a taller guy at 6'4 is alot of sprint work and cardio.. at least 10 hard sprints after i longtoss with jogging a mile will get the fast twitch muscles going to build velocity..

    this program is intended for arm strength and endurance. IT doesnt teach you what to do with man on 3rd n 2cnd with 1 out; it just teaches you how to increase velocity, arm strength, and endurance.

    What do you want to do with runners on second and third with one out? Strike the batter out while keeping the ball out of the dirt as much as you can. How do you improve your strikeout rate with your fastball? Additional arm strength/velocity. Pitch velocity is important at any decent level and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. P.S. I know this comment is 11 years old, just replying for anyone who still reads these.

    What everyone is missing here is that these two are high level athletes! Long toss can build arm strengh as demonstrated in this video! But what this guy should be promoting is all the work leading to long toss!!! That is what is crucial to make believers out of skeptics! Long toss can increase injury if not done properly... i am willing to bet both these guys can be good middle relievers!!!

    well when you change you motion and apply all force towards home plate apposed to having side to side inconsistencies you gain velocity... I threw 83-85 without throwing to a catcher for 2 years. I threw to a catcher for a month and I hit 88 to 92 last weekend at a tryout for my college. I know this because I asked what I hit. I also have been doing a training program for the last 2 years. after i came out of the regression of throwing everyday and now im throwing to a catcher I throwharder

    Its funny because now Nolan Ryan has every pitcher in the Texas Rangers organization doing this program. And even if you throw uphill you are still teaching your body to create natural torque. The only thing really changing is your release point which your body should adjust to naturally. Whether its in a game when you throw a ball and have to adjust to throwing a strike or if you get a ground ball hit to you and have to throw to first. You constantly have to make adjustments in your release.

    Ill tell you a great way to teach pitchers to finish without long-toss. Have them start in the finished position. Then work backwards from there . Then when they pitch they can get back to the position the were just in easier because they just felt it .Once they get it don't use the drill anymore. Pitch from a mound and get better from 60'6"

    How do you develop a 90mph Fastball? and actually there is a formula that states if you throw a ball 300ft on a relative line (obviously it will be at an upward angle) but you should achieve 90mph off the mound. And I hit 92mph last week so I am alright with it now.

    Do QBs throw the ball the length of the field to strengthen their arms? I've heard of pitchers doing long toss, but not QBs. Do hockey players practice 3/4 rink shots?

    Dear GayyyBoy69, I know all of those skeptics about long toss out there have your brain turned completely against long toss. I was the same way untill this past year. Then I tried this because it was my absolute last resort for gaining velocity. 3 weeks later i was throwing 4mph harder consistently. Ask Trevor Bauer and Dylan Bundy about this and see what they have to say about it mr. gayyyboy!

    Dylan Bundy squats 500 pounds and leg presses 1200. Trevor Bauer has velocity because he uses full body to throw and put a lot of torque in his core. They do long toss to keep their arm in shape and their rotator cuffs and elbows are so strong they can take it. Long toss isn't responsible for their velocity

  • @Specialkhit
    @Specialkhit15 жыл бұрын

    how many times would you say it takes to get through to a pitcher then....1 time? 2?The problem is people don't use it like that. Once you have got your point across about how to finish out front then it really will do nothing for a pitcher but mess up his muscle memory. Do you think that swinging a heavier bat before you go to bat makes you faster at the plate? Nope but almost every major league player does it. Does not make it true. The smartst minds in the world thought it was flat at 1 time

    Increase your thresh-hold?? Trust me man, the only thing it will do for you is make you a better long-tosser. It will not increase your velocity and it can not make you better at pitching from a mound at 60'6". Any time spent doing this is wasted time you could have spent getting better at pitching. The j-bands make no sense either. Strength has little to no effect in pitching a 5 oz baseball..this is why some 11 year olds can throw 70mph. Timing, speed of movement, and God given ability are it.
