    Yep, guess it feels natural for him to throw 350 feet since he warms up that way. Wonder if he didn't have that kind of warm up routine if he would have done that today. Just came naturally I guess.

    One of the reasons Bauer was traded is because the D-Backs wanted him to stop his warmup routines and go with a more basic routine. He told them no and he traded the following offseason to cleveland

    Such a shame what's happened to the d-backs. So many great prospects traded away before they even become valuable. I've been here since the beginning and was a huge fan when they won it all, and my dad got to experience what the red sox had denied him all his life right before he passed away. Idk what's been going on in the front office but they have really dropped the ball. They should have welcomed an unorthodox player who actually knows what he's talking about with open arms but they are just too stuck in the ways of babying young arms and not allowing them to grow. Meanwhile Japanese pitchers work the ever living shit out of their arms and it actually works. Surely there's a middle ground somewhere and I think Bauer has found it, but it'll be years before most teams realize how wrong they were, just like with moneyball. How much you wanna bet whoever he signs with won't allow him the 4-day starts that he's pushing for, ignoring all the evidence he has amassed that says it's possible? Worst thing about baseball rn is resistance to change and the inability to adapt to new information and trends. Fucking just a bunch of geezers who think they know it all. What a shame.

    The arm ( through hip and shoulder rotation) accounts for about 90% of release velocity.

  • @MrPitcher4
    @MrPitcher412 жыл бұрын

    Oh PLEASE post the link to this!!!!!! I have seen all the ASMI research and they obviously show the torque that is created in the arm shown by the number of injuries. For instance, if torque, momentum, and energy wasn't in the arm then there would be no UCL reconstruction surgeries! In fact when they did the EMG studies, they show that rotator cuff muscles, biceps, triceps, and forearms are active during the delivery!

    I think your mistaking your reply. I am a huge proponent of long toss. Trevor is doing the right thing by pushing his body PAST his normal limits. I have had the chance to workout with him and he is something special to watch.

    He uses his body and puts it at an arc where there is very little stress on his arm. It is his way to organize his body to get ready to throw 90mph+.

  • @MrPitcher4
    @MrPitcher412 жыл бұрын

    Let me ask you something then Mr, Analytic ,using the kinetic chain, what is the last piece in the chain when you release the ball? That would be the fingers, then the hand, then the wrist, then the forearm, elbow, biceps/triceps, and shoulder. So to your analysis that the arm is not a source of velocity is highly mistaken. To throw a ball 90mph, you hand must be moving 90mph at release. The arm may not be the MAJOR source of velocity, but it certainly is part of the equation.

  • @MrPitcher4
    @MrPitcher412 жыл бұрын

    Actually rotation occurs BEFORE foot strike. If you would look at Bauer slow motion delivery, he really shows this.Actually, look at Nolan Ryan, Roger Clemens, Tim Lincecum, Sandy Kofax, and CC. They all rotate before your so called footstrike. In the Kinetic Chain EVERYTHING is used torque generated from the bottom rises to the top hence the arm will end up with all this torque plus the torque it generated. If your arm is weak, then there will be a break in the chain.

His changeup is between 80-85 mpg....that's where you say you're maxing out with your fastball....obviously the guy is good...he's playing at the highest level.....also, there's absolutely torque when throwing a baseball...people that say there isn't are the ones that have their own definition of torque....I get why they say it, but they're wrong.

    The next crazy thing you will say is it changes your release point! Look, Ive seen time after time guys long tossing up to the 340ft and everyone one of them throw over 90mph. The ones that cant throw 340ft do not. Why do you think they always try to turn outfielders into pitchers? They long toss and have "strong" arm with high velocities. In fact, anyone will tell you that outfielders are the hardest throwers. This proof from numerous throws from the outfield being 95mph+

  • @MrPitcher4
    @MrPitcher411 жыл бұрын

    Really? I would highly debate that most of the torque and movement occuring is coming from the Thoracic Spine and not the Lumbar Spine. Also many athletes such as baseball players stay in extension posture all day, so a little flexion would not hurt and might even help posture.

  • @MrPitcher4

    Your right about one thing, I shouldnt be replying to some kid who knows very little about the body or pitching. As for me not being very good, you might be right. There will always be someone better than me, but no one will work harder than me. 2hr workouts 3x a day. If thats not pushing your body I dont know what is. I just warn you that you might want to slow your cockiness down, or you wont have the respect of your teammates let alone your coach unless hes daddy. And low elbow doesnt get

    Everyone has their own warmup preferences. In fact, when I play basketball at my local park, I prefer NOT to warm up. How do you like that for a warm up? Everyone has their own different preferences when it comes to warming up, so to say his warm up routine is horrible...well..it's very subjective. And you say he's not really good, even though he has a Golden Spikes Award under his belt? Let's not forget, Strasburg won it in '09, and look where he is now...

    Since you obviously do not know Anatomy, I'll try explaining in engineering. Your absolutely WRONG saying the arm doesn't create energy. It is like a lever action. When the lever rotates around the axis the lever creates energy called torque. In baseball the arm is the lever and the body is the axis. Your arm generates torque when it goes around your axis. It does generate SOME VELOCITY. Second, if the arm doesn't produce force then why do you see bicep, tricep, and rotator cuff injuries?

  • @MrPitcher4
    @MrPitcher412 жыл бұрын

    I guess nobody in the MAJORS gets hurt then right? Seems to me MLB pitchers are doing something wrong to be getting hurt all the time. Bauer knows that a solid warm-up like his will lessen the likely hood of him getting hurt. "If you do what everyone else does, you will get what everybody else gets."

  • @MrPitcher4
    @MrPitcher412 жыл бұрын

    It's obvious you lack true knowledge about the body and baseball. How many major league teams long toss their pitchers? Maybe 8. The vast majority do not. That is why Trevor told all the teams that wanted him that he will be able to long toss or dont pick him. His long toss allows his body to connect and get in sync with his arm making his mechanics that much more better. Since you are such a fan of momentum, you should LOVE bauer since he has the best momentum delivery in the game!

  • @unlvrebelx
    @unlvrebelx11 жыл бұрын

    Why are you spamming baseball videos to show us goalies throwing a soccer ball?!?!?! You've got issues....and by the way, every single major league pitcher would embarrass these goalies by how much stronger the pitchers' arms are. You're ignorant if you think otherwise.

    You know its one thing to be confident, but you might want to calm that cockiness down because you will get a rude awakening in college or pro ball if you get there. If you were at my college right now you would get treated like crap on purpose just to break you from this conceded mindset. I never called him a hak, I dont know who he is, which is surprising considering I know a lot of great coaches. In fact, I have never argued that momentum and the body doesn't generate most of velocity

  • @LongGone141
    @LongGone14112 жыл бұрын

    you don't know anything. pitching is like a marathon. if a marathon runner doesn't run however long the marathon is and doesn't push his body to the limits, he's gonna get hurt. same with pitching, if you dont stretch it out and push your arm, you're gonna get hurt. and plus, during his long toss, he has something called a pull down phase for that reason.

    But your lack of knowledge about the body is shown when you say the ARM has NOTHING to do with velocity. Let me shoot this at you. The ONLY proven thing that directly translates to velocity is GRIP STRENGTH! That is in the arm. Other parts of the equation do increase velocity but when separated in their study ONLY grip strength directly translated. Take some Anatomy classes, read from the works of Eric Cressey, Mike Reinold, Mike Robertson, Alan Jaegar and Ron Wolforth and you will know more.

    When you grow up you will learn to stop say things like "Alan Jaeger doesn't know anything." The fact is that Alan Jaeger knows a lot of things. Specifically about throwing a baseball. What you might have said instead is that from what you have learned and experienced, Jaeger Sports does not have a philosophy that you agree with and even with that said, some of the things they are teaching are exactly how you think of throwing a baseball but you disagree with SOME of the things they coach.

    I heard Trevor Bauer would cry in little league because he wasn't very good. He would sit down in a corner of the dugout and wail away. Yes, he eventually got better (and is now obviously a major leaguer), but it doesn't change the fact that his eyes would water when he performed terribly. I think I might make a video here on KZread explaining my views towards Trevor Bauer.
