You haven't even heard ANYTHING yet when it comes to Jacob Collier. You HAVE TO react to his a cappella cover of Moon River. Even then you've haven't heard everything he's capable of. Jacob Collier is a musical genius of the highest order. Multi-instrumentalist, top tier jazz musician, perfect pitch prodigy, music theory master, etc. So much you need to react to from Jacob.

Peeph yes love those too! All of his voice only songs started as my least favourite and then, as I became numb/used to the dissonance they have become some of the most fun for to listen to Singing along with justly tunes chords is a weird but great feeling! But... unless someone reacting had a background in singing or writing for choirs (which I also do not idk if I’m using the correct terminology) I doubt they’d get much out of ‘ home is’ apart from it being nice in the beginning then really weird 😂

Ok, get this: Jonathan Morrison uploaded a Mac Pro Review with Andrew Dawson and Jackson Foote producing a song for Wolf on Logic Pro X. They tried to push the Mac to its limits, but they didn't even scratch the surface of what the machine is capable of. Foote said that he usually works with around 100 tracks, which is way more than what he used in that review. Well, for " All I Need" , Jacob broke his personal record on Logic: SIX FREAKING HUNDRED TRACKS. 600! You know what Apple did, just for him? They increased the number of simultaneous tracks available in a session from 250 to 1000. JUST FOR HIM. They said it, it's on record. That's Jacob FREAKING Collier. That guy is in a league of his own and he's only 25. He is a true Beethoven, Mozart and Bach in the making. Oh, and on a side note. Watch "Don't You know". Live session. Jacob Collier and Snarky Puppy. Song composed by Jacob, arranged by him and League. It will leave you shaking.

This is more of his attempt at stuff closer to pop music, love this tune soooo much such a catchy song! Honestly, I’d suggest checking out his cover of All Night Long! He has a lot of other fantastic music but All Night Long is a little more digestible and accessible, on top of being filled to the brim with unbelievable musical talent. Oh and check out Louis Cole btw, his live sessions and big band videos are fantastic.

This is Jacob being much more mainstream than normal. Suggest you check out the stuff from Djesse Vol 1/2, and from his first album 'In My Room'. As far as individual song suggestions go - 'Moon River', 'All Night Long', 'With the love in my heart' 'Hajanga', 'You & I' and so much more! Djesse is tehe 4 volume mega album he's writing at the moment, each volume with a different vibe and feel accumulating into what will be 'Djesse'! Have fun with it!

Jacob Collier - grandfather professional violinist, mother violinist and professor at RAM, London. By all accounts his father was also a gifted amateur. Fully exposed to music through his childhood (sat through his mum's violin lessons for example) . Went to the Purcell (music) school and did 2 years of jazz piano study at the RAM before quitting. Also a gold medal winner in his ABMSR singing examinations (bit like winning junior Olympics for singing in the UK) and a multi-instrumentalist. Auto didact for the most part but family hobby is: singing Bach chorales. Bluntly he's well grounded in music through genes and education but has then been given the exposure and space to create himself as he saw fit. And the sum total is a glorious fusion of jazz pop and some classical (his fascination with harmony was partly a result of his exposure to Britten's opera Turn of the Screw). Well, you did ask. Personally I hope he outgrows his current "more like pop" phase and moves into modern classical recasting the field of opera. His skill in vocal harmonics could change musical history in my view.

Jacob Collier is basically a savant musician. Trained from a young age, perfect pitch (to a very high degree of accuracy) but maintains a very healthy level of fun and exploration when it comes to music. He uses these amazing techniques for the purpose of evoking feelings, rather than to just say he's done them. For instance: at 3:30 (of this video ^^) he modulates to B half-flat (or Bb half-sharp as others have put it). And it's so good you don't even notice anything's off.

Jacob Collier is a genius! he's incredibly musical and his intentionality with his music is top-tier. he's going to be looked upon by history as truly revolutionary, he's opening many musical and creative doors into microtonal voice leading, just intonation, wacky rhythms, etc. Truly incredible stuff. Some of his other things to check out are Hideaway, You and I, Moon River, Time Alone With You, Danny Boy, Once You, In My Room, In the Real Early Morning, With the Love in My Heart, In the Bleak Midwinter, and Down the Line. All of his stuff is just great. also, fun fact: this song (All I Need) has 646 tracks. just let that sink in! great video dude, love seeing Jacob becoming more well-known

Jacob is called the jazz prodigy by some, but extremely influential by all. You want to hear some of his extremely unique rearrangements of some popular songs, but he has always been super unique in thinking about harmony. He very frequently uses different tuning systems and microtones, even being able to modulate to half-sharp keys, etc. It's hard to really put into clear description who Jacob is. If you want intricate harmonies, very different arrangements, then pleaseeeee keep listening to Jacob

Oh, man! That was just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Jacob Collier. Now you need to listen and react to songs such as With the Love of my Heart, Time Alone With You (feat. I'd start with volume 2 of that series since it is a bit shorter. Great reaction!
