Love seeing these vintage pencil reviews, MAMO! I had forgotten that Staedtler made pencils in the US for a period. Love the moon logo - reminds me a little of the old Proctor & Gamble logo. Thanks for sharing these fine old writers!!

Interesting point of history about the sulfur-graphite mix. I had no idea that was a thing, and from the mentioned drawbacks it's not hard to see why it didn't catch on. A soft pencil is bad enough, but one that also stinks of rotten egg? Pass.

Agreed. I mean, I spend a lot of time sniffing my pencils. Talk about a buzzkill.

I can honestly say I know more now about pencils since I started watching your videos. Are you serious or was it a joke? Left handed pencils? I did laugh, but If I am wrong correct me.

Well, it's somewhat in jest. Generally pens and pencils have things printed on their barrel so that, when held in the right hand, it appears to the writer as Right Side Up. It's clearly readable. But some pencils are printed in the opposite orientation: they are printed in such a way that, to the writer holding the pencil in his left hand, the words are seen as Right Side Up. Does that make sense?

I went into my drawer of pencils and I'll be darn..there are right and left handed pencils.. I am actually floored with this info.
