I used to only add accessoires on special occasions, same with a button up. Not anymore! Even with jeans and a basis tshirt, just add some nice jewelry and it makes the outfit complete! Thanks for the tips! 🥰🙏🏻

You might want to check into Zenni Optical. You can order many fun Rx sunnies OR buy fun regular glasses and add a custom polarized clip on lens at the end of the order. The polarized clip-on adds just a few dollars more and most models seem to include that option. I found some wild and unique options. The site is easy to use and include your Rx and pretty economical. Some styles won't accommodate every Rx, but they'll tell you. I've had good luck. Hope you find something you like.

Accessories take an outfit from ordinary to extraordinary. They are the punctuation marks, the magic elixir and the piece that can really highlight the personality of the wearer. Needless to say, I really enjoyed this video. As I am older, in your beautiful mother's generation, I have quite a few accessories! I have upgraded my scarves thanks to The Real Real. I did purchase one beautiful Hermes scarf new at Neiman Marcus the year I was turning 50, but all others are from The Real Real. Belts are always a good idea for those who really want to control volume...as a petite...I need to control volume and cinching at the waist is a neat trick! Earrings...where to begin! I need to organize and edit those, but yes earrings are great ways to frame the face or continue a color from head to toe! Necklaces....long necklaces to break up tunics or dresses that don't have a pattern...to direct the eye to travel the entire silhouette. The neck loving necklaces....like my gorgeous ANA LUISA ALYSSA NECKLACE is perfect for that added glimmer that frames the face! Sunglasses! Yes... so many of those! As the decades pass...I have accumulated a few. The good news it...the frames come in and out of style and I have all of them covered. I added a pair of white sunglass frames...a pair in a round version and another in a cat-eye. I picked up a great pair of Karen Walker sunglasses at the Real Real years ago...love them! GREAT VIDEO and I love talking accessories! I also get into handbags...but that is another story! Bead Bag addiction vintage and new! OH AND SHOES! You need to do a video on SHOES AN BOOTS! Hats...Love those, too. My summer hats are large straw hats to protect my skin from aging...along with SUNSCREEN. It has worked (I wish I was thinking more of my hands in the past). I really love hats in Fall, Winter and Spring when the Chicago weather can go from pleasant to downright subzero Cold (you know about that). Again. GREAT VIDEO!

Hmmm yes lots to think about. I think maybe they are winters and look great at the hockey rinks. I am a Spring so I hopefully can look good on the soccer field, ha ha. They also manage to look dressy when only wearing casual clothes. Thanks for replying.

Hi Alyssa, I personally have always enjoyed vintage accessories. Used to use some of my mom's accessories that dated back to the 50s, and still do. One piece that really stands out are a pair of earrings in the shape of a large daisy, but so well made and delicate and great for Summer with a beautiful wide brim sun hat on a beach promenade, wearing a halter top.

Another informative Video Alyssa thank you, I too need prescription sun glasses however I use the sunglass readers from Costco, and can sit by the pool and still read a book. You get two pairs for $20, they come in different strengths,and the styles are quite flattering and up-to-date I find. Can’t go wrong!

Love hunting leather goods at thrift stores. I found a unique red purse made in Spain for 5 dollars - 1 small ink stain on the inside of a handle but otherwise in perfect condition with stitches intact and no scuff marks. I have a couple of silk scarfs from China I got as gifts but haven't worn them much as they don't go well with my skin tone so I may tie them around a Panama style hat this year. Cause yesterday my husband and I have mostly fedora hats we handle or 20's and antique models from the 30's wish I got it @ vintage swap meet stand 10 years ago...It will be awesome if you provide your wisdom, of course, by the way, I saw your add on your videos, That's great! Me "gustaron mucho"! thumbs up with the "shop in your closet" issue, very use full idea to rescue your tops and skirts and convert styles.

I don't own any sunglasses as I don't believe in them but can see how they can accentuate a style. I have a lot of bags (most of which are vintage) but I get lazy changing them out and so end up with the same one all the time. Time to up my game.

Considering we should repeat clothes, basics should be more, few latest to keep it latest and yet harmonious, and we are using more natural fibres like cotton, silk, wool, cashmere, linen, usually how many washes these fabrics can withstand before they are to be discarded?.... Hmmm this is a great q - can you wear contact lenses? I wear glasses but am able to keep a lot of my old sunnies by wearing them with contacts ... Another thought could be simply getting the lenses swapped out with your new Rx vs buying a whole new frame ... I'll come back to this if I have other thoughts it's a great q :)

If you are in the United States, check out Warby Parker. They do Rx sunglasses in a variety of styles at relatively reasonable prices. They have a smattering of physical shops, but really they live online and have a quiz to help you choose shapes and they give you an opportunity to try before you buy. (Maybe other countries have a similar vendor? I don’t know.)
