The bit about boys being escape artists reminds me of something my brother did when he was four. My mom had fallen asleep, and Mark took that opportunity to get his tricycle, leave the apartment, go down the elevator, and peddle over to the corner tavern (this was Milwaukee in the mid 1950s). He parked his tricycle outside the tavern, went inside, and was made welcome by the bartender. Meanwhile, my mom had awakened, could not find find my brother, and frantically called the police. They found him when they noticed his tricycle by the tavern door. As they entered, Mark was sitting on a bar stool, drinking orange soda and eating beef jerkey, all bought for him by the amused patrons. He was soon reunited with our mom, and the police went on their way. America in the 1950s . . . I kind of miss those days.

Yeah, now-a-days they would have arrested her for child endangerment of corrupting the morals of a minor. This story reminds me of an anecdote told by Frank Mc Court about the baby stroller that flew through the open door of the Pub with the baby in it. No seat belts in strollers in those days. A miracle the baby didn't fall out in the middle of the road that the stroller flew across and more of a miracle no cars were coming! This very funny story is in Frank's autobiography, "Angela's Ashes" which broke all records on the New York Times Best Seller List in the entire history of the list. He also won a Pulitzer Prize. If you decide to read it, there is a sequel which is even funnier than the first.

@@hooleyqueen Yes, Frank McCourt was a wonderful story teller! My family enjoyed reading his books and we would also listen to the audio versions during long car trips. @andersonsmith979

@Michael Freed I can't tell if you just associate with the wrong women or if you're on drugs. Most women I know pluck the occasional eyebrow hair that has wandered too far from the eyebrow homeland and apply a bit of eyebrow pencil to areas of the eyebrow that may be a bit thin. No idea what you're on about. alien spiders? squirming slugs? All your typing and I'm still not really sure if you hate the too-thin eyebrows, the too-thick eyebrows or the mostly latin habit-though some asian cultures do it as well-of plucking ALL the eyebrow hair and then applying a thin little line over the area previously inhabited by their eyebrows. I would agree that THAT is peculiar. Makeup should enhance a woman's beauty not replace it. But you just seem like someone who is trying to explain something you experienced while out-of-your-mind on Meth. Tripping Balls. (Like that Johnny Depp Character in "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.") It's just not reliable testimony on the vagaries of high fashion as it relates to ladies eyebrows.
