The casual players weren't a concern when they hired people who don't like Halo to change Halo to something else. Look up the comparisons of CoD to Halo... 4? 5? Lot of similarities between them. They wanted to appeal to different crowds, & in doing so alienated much of the OG community. Not to mention trying to micro- monetize Halo MCC, including mods some of us had been using for years from Nexus & similar. They only gave up when backlash hit them from every attempt, & even then it was because they wanted to charge for a majority of stuff we already had, with very little new stuff (same thing with Battlefront "remastered"). The whole competitive scene, back in the day, was just people jumping in & gaming. These days it's your job, your life, your way of living. Stats now matter more than ever. People aren't trying to win as a team because there's only glory in one person getting every kill.

What exactly is wrong with it? I don't get it. Multiplayer was never really my thing tbh, I like single player story driven games, and tbh infinite is my favorite in that regard. Obviously the first 3 are really good too and arguably have a better story but campaign gameplay wise I love infinite. The open world rpg style was awesome to me and I'm really happy they did that, but those are my favorite type of games.

We're never getting a proper grifball mode with a proper hammer, are we...........

It's funny (but also really sad) because there's even an assault bomb you can spawn in Forge that you can pick up and throw like in Halo 5, but i don't know just how far scripting can go to recreate the Grifball variant of the Assault mode, especially the part where the ball carrier turns orange to represent Grif...

Halo 7 needs to start with Master chief waking up from cryosleep after the events of Halo 3 with Cortona saying "oh hey Chief while you were napping I injected some horrendous simulations to keep your mind trained but the real story starts now."

If Halo is given to another studio, it is going to be one of the 3 activison studios. They are the studio with the most fps experience that Microsoft has. @smileyr MW3 has content, it has gamemodes, it has regular updates. And the series has had decent games recently. Halo hasn't had any of those things in a long time. EA is terrible, but Microsoft has literally let their best game flounder and die.

It's crazy how Halo has one of the most passionate and dedicated communities that has stuck around even when the company making the game continuously spits in our faces over and over and over for 10+ years now and somehow microsoft doesn't give a shit to not be cheap on the franchise and put people in charge that ACTUALLY love Halo. I go back every once in awhile and watch the old Halo 2/Halo 3/Halo Reach ViDocs from Bungie and they give me a sense of comfort remembering how beloved Halo was not just by the community, but by the developers. Bungie back then were so passionate, having LAN dev tests and just laughing their asses off shit taking during their matches. It was what Halo was all about. A fun somewhat competitive but mainly chill multiplayer FPS to hop on, play some slayer or some ranked, swap to a mess-around mode like grifball or zombies or action sack and just laugh at the wild shit that would happen. I still want Halo to get back to that point but honestly I thought Halo infinite was our best shot and they blew it so horrendously bad. Maybe some day it will return to those great days of fun but I've gone from hopeful, to slightly optimistic, to indifference.

YuYuYuna, I am right their with you. It’s so dumb because if they just actually invested into infinite and helped ensure it’s success Microsoft would be actually making boat loads of money. Now we all don’t trust their corporation (if we all ever did since 2010) and now 343 have no where to go and it just seems to be getting worse. I went thrifting the other day and found a perfect condition disc of halo 2 bought it and found an old Xbox tshirt at goodwill… it was like I was 10 all over again… and halo 3 had just come out with all my elementary friends and my dad and uncles all on to play through Xbox chat. Memories o memories.

See the things is, people always say “let’s hope 343 learned their lesson with this game. And they’ve said that for all 343 games. They will not learn. They want their own story. They want their own universe. They don’t wanna give fans what they want. I will say infinite is the best out of the 3 but they used it to try getting more of our money while also giving us less than we deserve. Why would they spend the time and money giving us campaign dlc that only a handful of the player base will buy (because most infinite players didn’t even bother buying campaign) when they can just get free maps made by forgers, put together some cool armor sets that you have to buy, shove in a limited time game mode, and call it a content update. The armor that you see in the shop, like what was said in this video is likely armor that was planned for a season pass but now one set costs as much as 1/2 or 2 passes combined. So they’re literally doing the BARE minimum and making far more money than if we got what we wanted because they don’t have to use resources to get us this content. Yeah I’d buy more if I got what I wanted but then that would require them to actually do something. Like I said, 343 isn’t going to learn. If halo 7 manages to be what we all want then I’ll grab my shit out of the toilet, eat it, shit it out again, and eat it.. AGAIN.

Modders have brought the halo 1 magnum, smg, battle rifle into halo reach, all with custom audio and pickup icons, and basically developer grade quality, modders have been adding new weapons and vehicles for years and years now in halo 3 and reach, why cant actual developers do it?

Yeah, in the open beta on "Highpower" I saw the Panama, the frigate in the sky, and I assumed it was a ship that would help in the campaign when it released, like the frigate Savannah in halo reach, but nope, we don't even get to see how the frigate Mortal Reverie was downed, or the supercarrier Infinity either, it was all skipped, plus where are the other navy ships such as the Halcyon class or Marathon class cruisers? Where is the support ship Spirit of Fire?

I'm sorry but I don't see Halo 7 being developed for 2 years already. Maybe a year max, I don't see any news about Halo 7 for another year or 2, more likely 2.....

still waiting for splitscreen co-op in any recent halo game. went to reinstall MCC the other week to play with my nephew, only to realize that the PC version (and only PC) has ZERO splitscreen co-op... in the ENTIRE 5 GAMES OF THE MCC! what other franchise rips out core features that defined the franchise has survived? i literally cant introduce the next generation to a generation defining franchise, its like 343 want this shit to die.

I love Baldur's Gate 3, but this would only work if Larian Studios made an FPS Halo game. They are more than up to the task, given how near immaculate Baldur's Gate 3 is.

We questioned our trust with 343 in 2012, we lost it in 2015.

When a studio takes over a game franchise with preestablish story and fan communities. The new studio must follow a handful of rules. 343 refused to follow the simple rules. If they had followed the rules, things would be completely different today. The rules are as below. - Stay true to the pre-established lore. Do not alter or change the current known storyline or rapidly change the story between the new games. It causes confusion for fans. - Keep the current art, graphics and design style (you can add new ideas, but don’t change the existing style) - keep the game mechanics and play style the same. If you have to alter the mechanics and play style. Do it in a way that feels natural for the player and not something completely new. Fans played the game for a reason, so don’t upset current fans by changing what they like. - if you you was to be experimental with the art, design, mechanics or gameplay style. Create a side-game based off a current lore story or create a new side story that you can play with. (fans are less likely to get upset with a completely different style of game if it is a side game and not the main line game) - listen to the community. If you had changed something, or introduced something that upsets the community. Don’t just go in there and alternate it thinking you’re going to fix it. Talk to major influencers or representatives within the community to figure out exactly what people dislike about it. Because it could be something so small, but has a major influence. (Halo 4 plasma pistol power consumption. Something small and easily fixable, but had a major impact on the community. Making a old reliable weapon, almost useless at times because the power drained so fast)

Im black pilled on this. 343 wont change, and they have shown time and time again , they do not GIVE A DAMN about halo. They care about how much money Halo can make them .

The only real complaints I have with 343 industries with Halo Infinite's multiplayer is that there's no playable Brutes or Elites, or other Covenant species, now the Covenant and Flood palettes for Forge have been released. I'd like to test out armour skins in Forge, but I can't really complain about the store because the multiplayer is supported by the people who can't resist buying pretty dresses for their Spartan.

as someone who WAS a halo fan back on the 360 I remember being disappointed in halo 4, then halo 5 was when 343 burned that bridge. I remember some one asked me if I would play the next halo in the middle of 5 life cycle. at this point I had already left. and I said "if I even get a hint that halo six wasn't good I'm not spending a dime on any halo game as long as I live" I can thankfully say to this day I have kept that promise. I have let go and if you ever want things to change you should let halo die, ps go play helldivers 2

I love Halo, i will always have hope for halo reguardless of how "bad" things get.

Halo fans are suspecting the worst about 343i, we maybe right. If they cant fix Infinite to standard, what hopes have they left us with the next game.

I can not under any circumstance look forward to halo 7. I love this franchise, I love the community, I grew up with halo. And it sucks that 343 and microsoft screwed over halo so bad. The main franchise needs to be handed of to another studio. 343 can work on spin off series. Halo wars was honestly really good.

343 is so clueless I have no idea how Microsoft didn’t pull the plug yet if it was EA or someone else 343 wouldn’t survive halo 5

to people who want bigger infinite updates, PLEASE stop asking for more stuff. that game is SO INCREDIBLY MONEY HUNGRY! i'd MUCH rather them work on a better halo game then add 50-100 more 20 dollar cosmetics and sell me the color blue for 10 bucks. (if they can even manage to make one actual video game and not a glorified shop.)

If they started working on Halo 7 in the time frame that infinite has been out, I'm afraid the mindset for halo 7 will not differ too much in the slightest even with all the changes from withing the company. Halo may just overall be doomed to plumet until Microsoft no longer wants to fund it.

343 are now being led by a much more competent management team. They ARE milking out what they can from Infinite. But with all the fixes they've made to infinite - I'd rather the next game took all of the positives with it... The maps our forgers have created over the past year are bloody phenomenal. I only hope they can make the same level of quality in the next one.

Adding plants will not save the game, adding more functionality like more sandbox items and more forge scripting like the ability to animate large objects.

Im honestly just kinda sad. Halo has been such an integral part of my life and such a source of inspiration for me. It is a big reason why I became a writer. I really just feel cheated. (Whether that is justified or not) That i have essentially been waiting for halo to go back to what it was for over a decade. Thats over a decades worth of spent excitement and utter disappointment after disappointment. I dont like when people say "Halo just needs to die" as if its new reputation ruins the old games. I just wish it would stop being abused. Halo is not something i want to walk away from but it almost feels like im being forced to.

Just ordered some classic Halo posters 1,2,3 and odst ahhh the good old days.

Hey guys, some of you aren't aware but the funeral for Halo was held back in 2012. Those of us who attended no longer grieve, though we laugh at everyone still in denial.

All i knew about halo was that free demo on my brothers computer Id spend too much time on the beach dying, fighting, respawning, dying more, getting further, dying, and driving around Id sometimes kill everything on the top of the map and one day.. i found there was an underground to that imposing outpost I ventured in to find two hunters (i think is what those big dudes are called) then die again, then after i ran past them i got scared of the darkness and never played again Ofc the needler was my favorite gun since that was my first person shooter and i was awful at aiming

My first was on an original xbox, on a fucking stupid huge TV that was basically a cube, it was awesome though, and yeah later the halo pc demo.

Halo Infinite was the first Halo game that made me go back to playing the previous title. I enjoyed it's campaign, but it's multiplayer was just disappointing. I think the only way to save this franchise now is to simply take it out of the hands of 343 and just let the fans have at it.

After the lessons learned with ODST, and Spartan Ops, they were never going to release a campaign DLC in the first place. They thought they could get away with releasing cutscenes only, but the Banished AI storyline was crap.

Halo Infinite's like those Steam indie games made in Unity with stock assets.

Halo needs more focus on the campaign. The whole reason i was hyped for a new halo each time was the campaign.

halo 4 I liked a lot, enjoy everything about it. Halo 5 Had a good story, I didn't really play multiplayer that much on 5. Halo infinite I played 1 time a year to check back in but nothing got better. So I would really like to see a different studio do Halo. Honestly any of the famous story dev studios would be fine with me. Hell I wanna see what a Fromsoft interp of Halo would look like lol.

This reminds me of WB saying they were just gonna refresh the DC universe so anything that happened in Aquaman and blue beetle didnt matter. So no one went . sales were low. No one is gonna keep spending money in this game that will just be abandoned eventually because 343 will just stop supporting it to push Halo 7.

I just hope they keep the infinite art style and continue this story.

I won't be excited for Halo 7 until a few weeks after release, I just have zero trust and confidence in 343. Therefore I need to see the full product and what longevity it would provide

It's honestly quite astonishing to see just how far 343i will go to screw over the remaining playerbase. In all honesty while the operation event pass now has more agency because of the addition of SP it seems to me that they keep coming up with new ways to devalue the pass while making it more unaccessible to complete in a timely matter so as to push players to spend real money on credits to either make it permanent or autocomplete. We used to get credits, xp boosts, challenge swaps, and xp grants with each iteration of the Battlepass, and they keep slowly chipping away at it so we don't feel it as much when you get barely anything in return.

It’s not even the games anymore. All issues stack: the tv show, the retcon story form books, the management is all stacking and it’s effecting the fans

I’ve been in the Halo fan base since 2004. I’m a colossal nerd for the lore and everything. But with how much 343 has disappointed me starting from 5 mainly, my interest for future Halo content is out the window. I don’t even know where we are in the lore anymore. Too many questions and not enough answers

I'm definitely not buying Halo 7 the moment it comes out. I'm going to wait a month or 2 to buy IF reviews are good enough. BUT, if 343 gives us a detailed look at what we'll get in Halo 7 from the start and it's good, I'll buy it from the jump.

Personally I feel ignored. I’ve always played as an elite. Makes me feel like a alien assassin type deal. I feel like we are long over due for a third playable species. We’ve went backwards and it sucks.

I am happy with the exchange side, it looks like the exchange points are really high though 😒 in saying that forge Flood themes look awesome but looks like they're putting more efforts in forge than the overall multiplayer. Still waiting on classic firefight, KOH firefight makes the map feel limited because we have to be in the hill than exploring to find enemies. Halo Infinite is sort of moving in an okayish direction I just hope the updates get better from here.

Personally, I liked Halo Infinites for the most part. There were definitely issues I didn't like. I didn't like how cortana said that the endless was worse than the flood. I didn't like most of the music. I didn't like that you couldn't kill your fellow marines (just for the laughs like in Halo CE and Halo 2). I hope they don't say the endless are the precursors. I would rather keep them as a mystery. I hope Halo 7 doesn't kill off any villains. The original halo games had you fighting the same main bad guys, which was nice. Halo 4, you're fighting one person, and then halo 5, you're fighting another. I don't play multi-player so I can't comment on that

I wont lie the only company under Microsoft i could ever see making a good halo is ID under bethesda, both dooms were such a return to form for that series

Thankyou Halo Follower, you do good things for this community. I was excited when Pierre took over on Infinite, but was shattered when they pulled support and stopped seasons, especially after the game finally had some consistency and stability. Since then, decisions on the useless operations, ridiculous cosmetic pricing, and implementing Ezy Anti Cheat that clearly sucks, has led me finally uninstall the game. The comparison to an abusive ex is so accurate, they aren't allowing fans of halo to have any hope, as the decisions they are making now is leaving lots to be desired. It's like 343 was formed to secretly destroy halo, the tv show should have inspired more players, I mean just look at Fallout, instead we got a pile of trash. At least we get to look forward to your releases, very excited for those ❤

At this point Microsoft owns a ton of studios. License Halo to a bunch of them. Let’s see what we get. Cuz I love a lot of what we got in the HI campaign. Love the grapple. Love the open world, but the lack of a complete story hurt a little bit. We started the game pretty much where we finished it. Nothing truly moved forward or set a stage for what’s to come. Halo epitaph and outcasts did more for the lore than a mainline fuckin game. Honestly 343 needs to ride the bench for a couple games. Let a couple dif studios give us some spin offs or some much needed new ideas. Someone revive that Halo MMO. Flood horror game HiddenX sold me on years ago. Something. Microsoft just needs to stop making promises, have everyone shut up and just do the work and let that speak for itself. They need to learn again that the best way to make a successful game, is to make a good fuckin game. The industry is so consumed with shareholders and profits. Live service is dogshit and it’s killing games.

We have already told that when they were in the beginning stages of halo infinite that they chose not to go all in with this game because the halo name would carry it , why try if you don’t have to is the mentality they had

infinite had soooooooo much potential man. it was so close to being the game we want. think back to bungie's halo games... we had heat maps for matches. we got weekly? updates from frank oconor.. like there was real communication. i hung on that dudes posts.

What sucks is that I try to stay positive, because what I believe and learned is that always having a negative mindset you always miss the best parts. However I always had this feeling that Halo was sort of destined to be like this. Microsoft to this day doesn’t care about the title that made Xbox well… *Xbox* and 343 keep fumbling, they have good ideas but they change, remove, or add stuff that isn’t needed as well as necessary. Even if Bungie stayed comparing to who they are now, Halo probably wouldn’t be in a better position. Like even if a new developer is tasked with making a Halo title that’s such a big risk and not as simple as people think. People want Certain Affinity to make a Halo title but they forget they made Halo 4’s multiplayer (although they made H2A’s multiplayer which I didn’t think it was bad). Being a Halo fan sucks right now, plain as day. We had a game that had so much potential and amazing ideas but fumbled so hard because of greed as well as terrible management, and a TV show that has so many lows man. I want Halo to succeed, so many things need to be changed with Microsoft and 343, no matter how big our voices are heard they aren’t listening. I hope for a better future but only time will tell.

They should at least add a way to play multiplayer armor in the campaign just for some fun variations like Reach

Was assurance not lost back when Halo 5 was released? During Infinites delays? The poor launch of Infinite? And yet people got excited once 343 started to improve the multiplayer for both 5 and Infinite, the launches were both shit then both improved. Even MCC did the same. By now people must realize that this is and has been a marketing tactic for some time, both EA battlefronts did this, Halo 5 did it, MCC did it, Infinite has done it and even Destiny 2 has continuously done it. By now the Halo community genuinely needs to get a bit of a grip and acknowledge that this is something that will continue to happen because lately games that start poor and then recover sell better. The drip of what you expect in the game at launch but is added over time later is a tactic to draw in players who were a bit more on the fence about the game. They know the die hard fans will buy the game anyway, the rest is just drawing in new players and old players who only care about specific content. Each of these passes is just a minor MP DLC and they hype most people up just enough to keep playing. I for one am hyped because it's cool to have Banished themed armours in the game, sure a lot is going to be locked behind the shop but at least it is something. That's a mindset not a lot of people share, which I understand, but the amount of moaning and groaning people do about this game is getting unbearable, it's all you see on KZread and Twitter. I get that these games are important parts of peoples lives but sometimes it's taken a bit too far. When someone relies on Halo for income their opinion is going to be more drastic based on the amount of content in the game. Same for the people who play it every single day. The opinion of these two groups is the most outraged because there isn't much content added each time a new pass comes out, but others like myself enjoy what little there is because we can do what's available in the time we have. It sucks that there isn't more content, more modes, more vehicles, weapons or playable elites and brutes lol, but this game in particular has had to deal with pressure and layoffs from Microsoft and other issues which caused the game to ship in an unfinished state, including contracted work. I did get through this whole video by the way, and I want to say that Campaigns can be separate but keep doing the Halo Infinite multiplayer because it's already set up well enough and has been maintained decently. They can add more stuff over time still and we'd get to keep our current transactions and earnt gear.

Completely free and unrestricted customization is the only way I will be happy with the next Halo

I love halo give me more campaign I really wish they would focus on the story and keep infinites multi-player how it is and build on it

If they give us 3 new guns and 2 new vehicles then I'm happy. I genuinely miss halo 5 compared to infinite updates.

Halo 7 needs to be made by two companies, 343 or maybe certain affinity

I said this a long time ago on this channel and everyone talked shit and called me a noob and told me I don’t know what I’m talking about lmaooooo.

Halo is my favorite franchise and I dropped out of halo infinite 3 months in. I saw the writing on the wall and it was gonna be battlefronts 2 all over again. You cannot rely on a company that’s already strikes out twice. 343 never cared enough about halo and all you have to do is look at interviews for the games. Slow death is bad but I’ve checked in to halo Infinite over the months and I just was very disappointed with how 343 decided to treat this IP. It’s sad. Halo 3 will always be my favorite game but it’s over. We had a good run but watch. COD is gonna go away slowly as well as battlefield and halo. New age I suppose

I’ve considered making my life dedicated to fixing halo, I have so many amazing ideas that seemingly come so easy to me. How we got to the state it’s in now is baffling. They desecrated halo with their filthy footsteps. Also I like how they just straight up ignore halo wars, halo wars 1 & 2 is better than the games 343 made.

I'd rather them just say they're plans with infinite then keeping us waiting around and wondering. If there are no plans for any new sandbox items tell us.

Honestly I stopped playing infinite indefinitely because it sucks everything is stuck behind a paywall it’s disappointing that’s why I’m playing other games like helldivers and such I don’t want to put up the halo armor yet but I might just have to

What’s wild to me is RIGHT when things got on track the foot was taken off the gas pedal. The last actual season was a huge success and got the game where people wanted it to be for the past few years. On one hand I get that they want to move resources to the next game to make it what they wanted infinite to be while starting with a better foundation, but it’s so frustrating to see how close infinite got. We tasted it, they showed it was possible. Infinite can be successful with sandbox updates alone from here on out. Just bring back old weapons every couple months until the games done. Such a simple concept.. no need to redesign functionality, balance is basically baked into their designs..

I just want a complete game man... a polished, finished game with a good-great campaign, a progression system with reach-like armor customization/unlocks, forge, and plenty of gamemodes at launch. We were able to do this stuff in the mid 2000's-early 2010's, it astounds me that as technology has improved and profits have been record breaking development has regressed more and more
