    Nice review Cam, thorough as always. You have to give the people what they want - it's a volunteer kinda of thing. I think ultrasonic cleaners are amazing and a huge time saver. Looks like you'll be putting the Vevor through it's paces. That was a nice thing for them to do and you will definitely help with their marketing. All the best Cam!

    I think a 15 would be OK for single carbs, just not a manifold or other larger pieces. I'm not sure what you mean by parts for the T-Type?

    @@fredriknordin2631Ahh OK - I'm not a solex guy so wasn't aware of the t-type. (Have had webers on all my other cars) I haven't sourced parts for these at all yet - I've heard there are some good guys that do rebuilds in the Eastern States of Australia, but just haven't gotten into it yet. Within Australia, the toymods forum would be a good place to ask, or 1st Gen Celica forums in the US.

    Hey mate, did you pull the gaskets from the carbys before cleaning them?

  • @TheBuildRoom

    @TheBuildRoom

    4 ай бұрын

    Yeah I did, although i would tend to pull them and put the parts in separately for future cars, this was just a test. For something like a lawnmower or scooter carb i'd just send it, but you'd really want to wash out all the much that gets loosened on a proper carb so might as well just disassemble to start.

    Hi. I'm on the edge of ordering a Vevor Ultrasonic 30 litre cleaner. I had anticipated using a degreaser in it for car and machine parts (I'm in food machinery engineering) so I was interested in you trying the different liquids. I was dubious about water on its own for greasy parts. I wondered if dishwasher powder might be better than dishwashing liquid? I realise it might be necessary to premix it, but I also wondered if it had more grease shifting power than a dishwashing liquid used by hand in a sink? It would be interesting to know if you ran another test on best cleaners to use.

    yes i saw a video on the gye using cascade dishwashing pods on pistons and it even took off the heavy carbon on the pistons.he tried about 7 or 8 different cleaners and degreasers and cascade pods came in second and top pick was ZEP 505 DEGREASER im going out to bye the dishwasher pods tomorrow fo my new 10 liter amazon ultasonic cleaner.

    From what I've heard you have to be careful with pods, especially on aluminium as they can have a serious staining on the surface. When it comes to steel however you can be a bit more intense.

    The worst thing about Vevor cleaners is most of them only have one transducer! Any unit, 6 liter and over, need at least 4 transducers to do a good job. In fact, most other name brands DO have 4 transducers (with the exception of some cheap Chinesium knock-offs). A 30 liter or larger should have 6 transducers.

    Yeah they're definitely cleaned from a surface perspective, but there is definitely some staining that's seeped into the aluminum. I mean not bad for 45 year old carbs, would probably be a much better result on newer metal.
