I’ve been woodworking for around 4 years now and have a pretty decently established business. $2500 is an absolute bargain for this desk

At the beginning I said to myself there is no way I will watch a 24 min video from a YT novice… but after watching the whole thing I subscribed immediately. Great video and great desk. I think it’s worth more than $2.5K. It’s not just a piece of furniture, it’s a work of art. Looking forward to your next project.

You say youve been woodworking for 2 years now. Ive been at it for 8 months & thought i was progressing nicely. Now i see this. One of the best ive seen. The only way to console myself is to claim bullshit. If true, i apologise. I now have to find a buyer for tools. I could not reach that standard in 22years.Whatever.I take my hat off to you kid. Fantastic work.

Steven, it has indeed been two years! I will admit though, my 2 years is more like 10 years. I constantly watch youtube videos of various makers to learn, pursue new information from the "pros", and I tend to woodwork anywhere from 30-60 hours a week. My trajectory is a little accelerated! I'm sure you're doing incredible work in your first 8 months and I'm excited for your journey. Stick with it. My biggest skill jump was 12-18 months. I dove deep in! Best of luck, my friend!

Hi Zakk, I'm glad I found your video and channel, I'm also beginning to do woodworking more seriously and trying out new stuff and techniques to find my own voice, so I also underbid every job. Nice to see someone else make mistakes and being humble and honest about his current work! Keep it up mate, we'll get there haha

Thank you so much! Yes, learning how to woodwork is so much more than just putting the wood to the tools - I think a lot of people struggle with the pricing / marketing aspect, but it comes with time and experience...and great feedback like all of these comments on this video :)

you da man, Paul. I appreciate it. The original $2,500 was without the drawer case, grommet, and small details. After I would say probably $4,500 - 5,000 IMO. Appreciate you following along!

Zakk, I have one word: WOW. That is the most beautiful live-edge slab desk I think I've ever seen. I agree with you in that drawers are a lot of times overlooked and I'm glad you included one. The brass details also add just the right accents and I learned about some new awesome products to include in my furniture now thanks to your sponsor. I can't believe you've only been woodworking for about 2 years. I've been woodworking off and on for 15 years and your skills and attention to detail put me to shame! Beautiful work. While the video is on the longer side for YT, it kept me wholy engaged the entire time and I'm glad you made it. Great production quality and I hope you continue to make them. Looking forward to more! - Joe

Also, to answer your question about it being worth $2,500? My answer is no. It is worth SO MUCH MORE. I honestly feel you could get double that price with the right clients and with the level of craftsmanship and detail you have. Excellent work!

I'm not a woodworker, but I would happily pay £2500 for this desk. As you can see I'm in England and that seems a VERY reasonable price to pay for all that work. I also agree with you that finishing is the most important aspect of any kind of build. Ben Crowe at Crimson Custom Guitars often says the same. His point is that the last 5 -10% of the work you do is always the FIRST THING your customer sees. If the first impression isn't good enough, there is nothing you can do to change your customer's opinion! Well done with this project. For somebody with only two years of experience, working out of such a small space and without a workbench this is a fantastic achievement!
