I’ve been woodworking for around 4 years now and have a pretty decently established business. $2500 is an absolute bargain for this desk

For sure - luckily it was an opportunity to learn and grow, not just related to woodworking. I'm hopeful for more inquiries like this, at a higher ticket value.

To answer your title question. I answer yes. You have really produced a gallery worthy art piece, that is fully functional as well as visually stunning. Well done.

Wow, Brent, thank you! That's one hell of a compliment. I think you'll enjoy the next piece of functional art that I'll be putting out in a month or so. Thank you for watching :)
At the beginning I said to myself there is no way I will watch a 24 min video from a YT novice… but after watching the whole thing I subscribed immediately. Great video and great desk. I think it’s worth more than $2.5K. It’s not just a piece of furniture, it’s a work of art. Looking forward to your next project.

Thanks for the amazing video! Subbed and looking for inspiration for my very first build with walnut. Beautiful work sir!
You say youve been woodworking for 2 years now. Ive been at it for 8 months & thought i was progressing nicely. Now i see this. One of the best ive seen. The only way to console myself is to claim bullshit. If true, i apologise. I now have to find a buyer for tools. I could not reach that standard in 22years.Whatever.I take my hat off to you kid. Fantastic work.

Steven, it has indeed been two years! I will admit though, my 2 years is more like 10 years. I constantly watch youtube videos of various makers to learn, pursue new information from the "pros", and I tend to woodwork anywhere from 30-60 hours a week. My trajectory is a little accelerated! I'm sure you're doing incredible work in your first 8 months and I'm excited for your journey. Stick with it. My biggest skill jump was 12-18 months. I dove deep in! Best of luck, my friend!

I'm not a woodworker, but I would happily pay £2500 for this desk. As you can see I'm in England and that seems a VERY reasonable price to pay for all that work. I also agree with you that finishing is the most important aspect of any kind of build. Ben Crowe at Crimson Custom Guitars often says the same. His point is that the last 5 -10% of the work you do is always the FIRST THING your customer sees. If the first impression isn't good enough, there is nothing you can do to change your customer's opinion! Well done with this project. For somebody with only two years of experience, working out of such a small space and without a workbench this is a fantastic achievement!
