Corvette is naturally aspirated - the supercharged version of the C8 by Hennessy puts out 1200 HP. That’s the comparison I’d like to see.

I’d take the GT500 for sure, especially since as time goes on the C8s will be a lot more common, but I gotta give it to the C8 tho, I mean the fact that people are comparing a base model corvette with a lot less horsepower to a gt500 speaks for its self. I mean just think what the z06 and the zr1 trim levels of the C8 will be like when just the base model it’s self is already impressive

Both of these cars are 100k, so why would you assume one would be more common than the other? Also by your logic the more common car would be the Mustang, considering the fact that the cheapest model starts at around 27k, and yes they count.

marlon Covington no regular mustangs don’t count you dumbass because this video is strictly on if you would get a C8 or a GT500. And obviously a GT500 will be less common because if you actually used your head it’s a limited production for just 2020 meaning only 5000 will be out their dumbass compared to the C8 which is a mass production car. In just 2020 over 40K could be built and that’s not including the following years to come.

Truthfully, for just about $100k, I'd wait for the C8 Z06 in a year or two personally.

@@randyjr3479 Going by history, previous C7 Z06 started at right about $80k. I expect a slight premium for the C8 Z06, so probably start at $85k or $90k. Now if you check every option box, you'd probably hit $150k or so. Doubt a fully optioned out Z would hit $200k!

Great video! The only ‘zonk’ that I have is the C8 disk break sizes. It’s actually 13.3” in the front and 13.8” in the rear. Because of the 60% weight balance in the rear, the rear breaks were designed to be larger. They are also both the same 4 piston calipers. They just look smaller because of the larger wheels

Love Raiti’s walk through of the history of each model or manufacture at the beginning of every video.

Really enjoying your reviews. Passionate, informative, drive the crap out of em, and fun trying to guess what candy goes in the center console. Keep it up!

Great review, Joe. I would take a new Corvette vs. a similarly priced GT350 or GT500. As good as the new Shelby cars are, I love the exotic looks and new mid-engine design of the new C8. But I’d love to see a track test pitting these cars against each other. Wouldn’t change my decision, but it would be fun to watch!

The C8 in this Video isnt 98 grand it's like 65 , 70 it's a Z51 .. The ZR1 when it comes out will have a price tag of 100 grand.. But will also have 800 HP twin turbo..

You know life is probably not going to get any better when you get the opportunity to choose between these two. Like a kid in a candy store.

Only bad part is that the C8 will hold it's value 10 times better than the Stang. If you intend to drive it and don't care about resale, then I would definitely go with the stang. However, I just needed to point that out.

Z06 will be here first and it will destroy any Mustang. The base C8 gives the Shelby heart attacks while having almost 300 less horsepower. 600+hp Z06 with less weight will walk the Shelby all day everyday unless it's a top speed run.

I'll keep my Mustang EcoBoost premium as a daily driver and buy the Corvette for a fun day trip car.

Why are they comparing a corvette to mustangs anyway? The corvettes weigh much much less than the GT500. They are different classes of cars. The corvettes should be going up against the Ford GT and maclarens and porsches.

Great review Joe. Your face in the GT500 is priceless! To me, even though the Mustang hasn't changed much in the past few years, the GT500 screams "I'm special!!!". The corvettes are just hitting the streets by me, but will look common in no time.

I currently drive a 2018 Shelby GT350, and I love it. Over the years I have owned several Mustangs and a dozen corvettes the latest being a 2014 C7 Z51 Convertible, they were all great cars in their own ways. I have not been in the latest generation of Corvette but I'm sure it's magnificent. I also have not been in a Shelby GT500 and would be thrilled if that occurred. I love your reassessment of both cars and based upon that I would settle for no less than the Shelby GT500, I'm 75 yrs. old and I believe the Shelby would bring it back to some extent. Raiti's Rides is my favorite channel for evaluations

CORVETTE!! Shelby is awesome but the corvette still is going to receive a Z06 and ZR1 which will compete with the likes of lambo and Ferrari

And it is going to get a model called Zora. I think it might push a into a hyper car.

Both amazing cars in their own right, but they’re not in the same league. The mustang is a Camaro competitor. The C8 is an exotic with a mustang price tag

34:04 - that's the same face I make when I'm playing Need for Speed on PS4! Love both these cars but I think I'd pick the Corvette if I had to only get one! It would be insane to be able to win both though! Thanks Joe for the comparo!

Raiti's Rides I’m with Joe I’m that. Love them both but not a close one in all respects.

The GT500 is the one for me..the sound is amazing..!!! Have owned both Ford and Chevy but Ford always does a great job with the sports models..
