Ganyu is for sure powercrept. The likes of yelan and tighnari being able to get free charge shots in their base kit when Ganyu needs C6. Either way please do research before making proveable data. Freeze Ganyu is not the most popular. You can see abyss stats and see right now that bennettt, zhongli, xiangling is her most popular team right now. And shit like saying this bow is better than Amos. It adds flat damage(which is bad for Ganyu she has high multipliers)

Also I personally don’t like Amos either. It adds atk% which is redundant when using Bennett,Sara,shenhe. And it does nothing for her burst. I use aqua simulacra if anyone wants a good bow to use.

@@calebhogan590 Thing is that's *right now*. What's been happening is people are using Ganyu less often. People have dropped off freeze Ganyu, and whoever is left are just the Melt Ganyu people who have the skill for it. Hoyo's been passively nerfing Ganyu playstyle, so it's just easier to use other comps, while those who have run Melt Ganyu have mostly dedicated to it and have to skill to get some pretty hih damage output from it, so they're less likely to move away. That's why Ganyu Melt is now more popular. But when Ganyu herself was more popular, Freeze Ganyu was most used. And yeah agreed about Amos and Aqua Simulacra. It's kinda funny how people kept trashing Aqua Simulacra when it first came out lol

I mean both are used. The point was the video said freeze is more popular when that’s verifiably false. I don’t care to try to make a whole ass spreadsheet to analyze the lifetime averages, so I will not dispute or agree with your claim that freeze Ganyu was previously more popular. Either way it doesn’t have bearing on my statement.

Nothing's changed. I don't get the whole "cryo and geo neglected by Mihoyo" sentiment. Pre 3.0 teams are not suddenly doing zero damage. Dendro reaction is A NEW way to play, not THE ONLY way to play.

Dendro not reacting with cryo & geo makes sense why they gave them dedicated supports in Shenhe & gorou. Mono cryo is very strong, I’ve been running ayaka,ganyu,Shenhe,Jean and it’s been easy 36 stars. Just pulled rerun Kazuha to replace Jean and it absolutely crushes. Took out the dendro chicken in like 30 seconds for current abyss. Mono cryo is good in every scenario trash mobs, bosses, except literally cryo slimes.

Its honestly great that dendro doesn't effect cyro, that means we can do what was never possible before and do double reactions on a enemy at the same time. imagine freezing enemies just to stack dendro blooms while they're stuck and blow them all up with a fat stack of Burgeon.

One extra thing to consider for Ganyu is how comfortable she makes just playing the game in general. As a Ganyu main since her release I'm definitely a little biased but also I've never had much issue with all the annoying floating/flying enemies and she much just solo the open world. A minor consideration for sure but still could push one over the fence if one is looking for a Cryo DPS.

I have Ayaya and one thing that's super annoying is enemies jumping out of her burst. Or for some reason Ayaka wants to devastate a single slime and not the abyss lector right behind her... ANYWAYS! With Ganyu it's not that much of a loss because her burst gives a support bonus and her arrows as I have heard pack a punch so jumping enemies can only do so much against Ganyu rather than Ayaka

I've been playing since launch so I've had both for a while now. Ayaka seems much more comfortable on a freeze team with Shenhe, Kokomi, Kazuha. Ganyu is great on the Morgana team however I find her way more fun and higher DPS output on a melt team with Xiangling + Bennett + Zhongli. 200k charge attacks are no joke. Just about every single Abyss rotation so far can be easily cleared with just those two teams on either side

One thing that people never mentions is that Ganyu is excellent against floating or flying monsters. She covers every aspect of the game because of this advantage, and she has AoE too. Ayaka is strong, but she doesn't cover every aspect of the game. The same goes for Hu Tao, Xiao, Eula, etc.

Neglection isn't a Negative. If Dendro reacted with everything, then it would be so much harder to get the Reaction you want. But this way, Dendro can still work with other Sub-DPS's you have, without being nullified by Cryo. If anything, there being no Reaction is a huge upside.

You could end up with something like Burning otherwise, it's trash and It's a hard "Don't use these two together or it'll be annoying" for both cryo and pyro, even if burgeon exists, it is hard to get it right with top pyro characters.

Ganyu was one of my first 5* and ngl the options for her to go melt makes her damage ceiling really high as long as you have the skill to back it up. I like the challenge of not using a shield :)

still the most comfy character for exploration (especially in coop) since I rarely need to switch out zhongli and ganyu from my party, the rest can be lv 20 anything e.g dendro and electro for sumeru mechanics or others depending on the needs

I always wanted Ganyu but having Ayaka covers many aspects that Ganyu would too. I would argue that is you have either of them wait for Shenhe instead. I got her before than Ayaka and even then she made my 4 stars so strong

I have both ayaka and ganyu (c0) with their respective weapons (r1 amos and mist splitter) and I like them both, ganyu being ranged with a more consistent damage output and ayaka being melee with very good burst damage, I will say I use ayaka more but there are certain times where I’m just thinking “gee a ranged character would be great right now. Oh wait I have ganyu”

my melt-Ganyu doing huge damage per charged shot says yes 👍 granted, her playstyle is not for everyone, and, if you have Ayaka, she can be pretty redundant to wish for. but, if someone asks you "Is Ganyu worth it in present Genshin Impact?", my answer remains "duh!" if you like her character, just pull 👍 if you don't like her as much and already have many good main dps, then you should probably save for someone else

I have a f2p Ayaka with Amenoma, 48/219 crit. I specifically skipped Ganyu for Ayaya in 2.6 cause i hated her boring gameplay, while Ayaya is literally Vergil's daughter with swordplay. But now fastforward, the game gave me wanderer pieces with 40CV without farming them, and a free Amo's bow without trying. Should I pull Ganyu, since it looks like i can experience peak p2w dmg with her?

@@mohamedab9033 consider you can have both teams, which are pretty good in the current abyss rotation. You could make a freeze comp with Ayaka and melt comp with Ganyu, Xiangling and Bennett. That's a possibility 👍

@@mohamedab9033 I don't care too much for the combat in this game so I don't know if my opinion is that valuable, but seeing those big numbers from her charged shot is super satisfying. I run a Ganyu Zhongli Xiangling Bennett team and her frostflake bloom is basically guaranteed 100k+ every time. Based on what you said, your build would at least be on par or better than mine, so you could probably achieve similar numbers. However, if you really hate her play style that much, then maybe you shouldn't pull for her. IMO, it depends on how endgame you are. If you already have multiple teams set up and fully built, there's not too much harm in trying out a character you're not sure about, unless there are characters coming up soon that you for sure want and wouldn't want to miss.

If you like how ganyu looks or plays just pull for her. Do her test to make sure you like how she plays. There's no real meta in this game and the weakest characters beat all content in the game so pull for what makes the game enjoyable for you

Been using melt ganyu since January. When I started playing. Don't have the Amos bow but got the hunters path building pity for Amos amd it slaps in my melt team doing about 150k per charged shot

If you plan to play melt ganyu, either invest in a good shielder (zhongli, diona, etc.) or just commit to a shieldless playstyle, but I'd rather play a national variant at that point

I have ayaka but I've always wanted ganyu and I got Amos bow off the standard so I'm getting ganyu anyway. Got a guaranteed and more than 150 wishes saved so I'm going for kokomi as well. I hope I win that 50 50 butb either way I have mona but with kokomi I can replace diona with ayaka that way I have both of the best cryo dps units on one team

I have both Ganyu and Ayaka. I don't have a 5* bow or sword, but I still went with both, got lucky with a won 50/50 for Ganyu and then got a guaranteed Ayaka. O can say that they're both really good and for me their pair is actually pretty nice. I ran Zhongli, Ganyu, Ayaka and Kazuha for the ruin serpent and it was pretty damn nice. Usually I run melt Ganyu and freeze Ayaka though, with different teams. I've tried doing a melt Ayaka build but it was very much meh. And now I'm saving for Kokomi and Venti. And as for Sumeru characters, Al-Haitham, but he's probably not coming along in a long time

If I get kokomi then my team has a better survival chance vs the glass cannon setup otherwise. I don't really need them to be on two teams since I usually run raiden hyper or National on one half of the abyss. Having them both allows me to alter my playstyle based on content. Alhaitham isn't coming before 3.4 as far as I know so there's a decent amount of time to save for him after

kinda same situation bruh. i also have ayaka for a year now, but i think she caters a different play style compare to ganyu, so it's definetely not a bad thing to pull on ganyu. i just also got an amos bow from the standard banner last week, and im guaranteed (im currently on 62 pulls). i bid good luck to the both of us on our pulls.

bruh I max starred the current abyss with fucking Diluc. Literally any character can beat all content in this game.

I've wanted Ganyu since I started playing a few months ago, and even more after meeting her in the story, and doing her story quest. I understand she's powerful, but that was never my draw to her in the first place. I'll be pulling for her for sure. Either way, I appreciate the run down and theory crafting. Always nice to get some other perspectives and opinions on characters.

I got Ganyu yesterdy already had Ayaya It was because I really liked her character too more than damage numbers lol and same goes for Ayaka but for some reason I lost first 50/50's for both of them but didn't for Raiden and Kazuha.

Ganyu is an amazing character for 99% of actual gameplay, since most people probably do Abyss once and done. Ganyu trivializes daily commissions and pretty much all enemies that aren't cryo-immune, and she can do it from 100m away with zero setup lol.

@@Aris-zw5lj Not like other DPS in that she doesn't rely on elemental skills or ults, it's on-demand damage as soon as you have line of sight. It's just a smoother experience.

I will only say this: ganyu makes all the exploration/farming/weekly bosses a complete joke, sure you need a good shielder and if you reading this comment are a new player dont understimate noelle, any shield in this game has a value and she paired with ganyu makes one of the best early team for completing content.

i’ve looked at tons of gameplay of her and she seems extremely boring. you place your e, maybe your burst, then you do charged shots galore. also being able to complete everything also seems boring, there’s just no challenge.

@@TheKeyToNowhere genshin isnt like dark souls, bosses are a cheap mess of random hitboxes and everything at some point became extremely frustrating to do. Look at the oceanid for example, without a shield you cant almost dodge the explosive bubbles and they oneshots you, the water eagle without a bow character are impossible to fight and ganyu can easily one shots them. Btw if you want an hard time in genshin there is the abyss.

Ganyu is strong, especially in melt team but I would recommend pulling just to ease your daily task or exploration. For meta stuff like abyss, probably there are better dps in current days. Using ganyu-mona-sayu-kazuha just save tons of time. I use ganyu burst more than her charge atk lol.

I use her more for support these days. Her gameplay as main dps is so boring sadly

ganyu isn't just a dps, she's also a good support. you can use her as burst support for melt and freeze comp, she's also good to pair with ayaka or other cryo dps for cryo res and energy recharge. her reverse melt damage is insane in burning reaction (dendro + pyro + swirl). my CA is usually 25k-42k, and when paired with shenhe, she can deal even more damage. i can say that she's definitely still in the meta. if you really like her design-wise or personality-wise, then i'd recommend pulling for her

I've been using Ganyu since she was first released, and I've never used her on a freeze team. I'm not saying I never used freeze reaction with her, rain works for that, so does Barbara's skill, but still. Melt Ganyu, or pure cryo dmg Ganyu are where it's at. First I was playing her as a cryo unit to apply cryo for my Diluc to use melt reactions, but once I realised that 4 piece Wanderer gives her that much dmg increase, and once on AR 56 I got my first 5 star cryo dmg goblet (yes, it took a while...) she shoot past all the other dps units I ever had to the top. She's a beast.Especially in melt comps with Zhongli to support her. The Dendro reactions didn't favor her though, that's a shame. Dendro goes well with hydro/electro, but that's about it. (+/- burgeon, but I've never seen anyone using it for more than a "proof of concept" team) The only thing I can bring up against Ganyu: charged attacks + aiming is a massive pain on mobile devices. So if you're going to pull for her, do so knowing this. And yes, as the video stated too, she relies on shielders quite a bit so her charged shots aren't interrupted. My recommendations there are Zhongli and/or Diona. Those both work really well with her.

I've been wanting ganyu since 2.4 and sadly lost my 50/50 on her that time. Friend felt bad so they let me borrow their acc. I don't understand... How is it hard to aim???? My phone is kind of laggy but 95% of my shots never miss. I personally don't have any issues with ganyu. Gonna pull for her on Friday (74 pity & guaranteed for those who asked :])

I don't agree that aiming with her is difficult on mobile. I do abyss in my PC because of jump+cancel of Hu Tao, not Ganyu charged shots. Ganyu is a piece of cake to shot on mobile, you just need to hold and release. Aiming is super easy too, I don't get how she's supposed to be difficult. On PC you need a mouse with more than 3000dpi to make it as easy as to mobile experience.

@@Urusaikusoyarou i think many just haven't bothered even trying to learn how to aim on mobile. they got rushed by a hilichurl trying an aimed shot with amber at AR5 and said "NEVER AGAIN" lol. once you get the hang of it aiming on mobile is quite easy. dunno how it compares to pc since mine broke before i got ganyu, but i really think the "ganyu/aimed shots = hard on mobile" is just a myth. i'm absolutely hideous at aiming on playstation controller tho LOL

8:23 totally agree. Ayaka is easier to use, very well suited for abyss. Ganyu is not that easy to use as DPS, but she has a lot of flexibility and her utility is probably the best among all DPS.

You could consider ganyu mainly for groups/flying enemies(high synergy with venti)

I have ganyu since her second rerun, and for me I enjoy her because of her hight melt CA numbers.hervteams if you have a will built ganyu she will carry the team even with low invested pyro applicator such as xiangling.even with a low base atk weapon for Bennett.the second important party member for ganyu is zhongli. in the end pull for what ever you want.

Being able to move while charge attacking on a bow character is already great, I mean look at Yoimiya, she's the real sitting duck that need a shield bot to babysit her.

I'm still going to pull for Ganyu, because I think she's going to make my experience better than before. I only have 5 5-stars, Xiao, Mona, Ayato, Jean and Qiqi. Because I lost my 50/50 to tighnari, I think this could be a good chance to improve my game experience.

Got 36 stars in abyss this cycle. Teams were Bennett, Ayato, Ganyu, Ayaka and Yanfei (Tankfei), Xingqiu, Sucrose, Hu Tao. Usually I don't put Ganyu and Ayaka on the same team, but I needed a ranged option to deal with the flying water birds. But both are great, and tbh I think it's fine to have both especially given that you'll want to fill out 2 teams.

Ayaka helped me finally 36* abyss. ( I started playing when itto had his first banner) And as much as I like ganyu I can really justify pulling another cryo dps.

Nice video, I have Ganyu on my main account, Ayaka on my daughter's account and both on my secondary account and I have build all of them and used in a multitude of ways and I noticed you forgot to mention that Melt Ayaka is not really a good option, her cryo application is not precise enough to coordinate with pyro in a effective way, Ganyu can do that, but also they both can work together, Ganyu's ult can provide ayaka with lots of Cryo dmg bonus and she can hit enemies when they fly far away, but for me the most confortable way to play Ganyu is freeze team with Ayaka's big brother, Ayato's ult is as big as Ganyu's and works the same way, pair it with Venti and it's the most comfortable permafreeze there will ever be, while Ayaka with Jade Cutter can enjoy the company of double hidro on the team like Yelan and Xingquiu, the ressonance will boost the weapon even further on this 3.0

One of my friends got Ayato for this very reason: she already has ganyu and venti so ayato with them together is chef’s kiss 🙃 I have ayaka though and I run my own freeze team, she naturally a higher AR so she inputs a lot of damage but we both can clear content in the game so it’s not an end all be all situation.

i've wanted ganyu since i started playing genshin and couldn't get her ever since , honestly she seems so comfy in overworld 2 charged shots and the commision is already done , although i have ayaka as well i still want ganyu anyways :D good luck on your pulls for either goat or fish

Ive had faith in Ganyu since she was very first leaked and I love her a lot, tbh in genshin I just like using characters I like and Ganyu being fun and versatile really carried me through most of the game

I pulled Ganyu on her second rerun and love using her. Ayaka and her feel very different but Ganyu helps so much in terms of world exploration too. Not to mention annoying spectors are easier to get rid of lol.

There's one thing about Cocogoat that a lot of people seem to forget. Her best in slot weapon drops from the standard banner. If you're a free to play, and you somehow get the Amos bow from the standard banner, get Ganyu! She becomes a 100% must pull at that point. For a free to play player who never pulls from weapon banner scams, Amos Ganyu is probably the most powerful character you could ever hope to get... and at C0, too. Plus, she still has the strongest melt team in the game, even if Ayaka is stronger in freeze teams. Though I doubt C0 Ayaka with Amenoma Kageucha can out-damage C0 Ganyu with Amos Bow, even in freeze teams.

Then there is me using both Ayaka and Ganyu in the same team. Ganyu as main dps and Ayaka for burst dmg. Pair them with Ayato and Kokomi and you got a godly team.

@@nencrows_4580 Yes, I've considered doing this too, but I only have one good set of Blizzard Strayer and I like to run Ayayaya with Mona (for insane burst damage), a shielder/healer (Diona is good here), and Kazuha (best support in the game. Don't even need reaction damage for him to massively amplify the cryo damage). This freeze up Cocogoat to run the other half of the Abyss in the typical Cocoxiangzhongbennett team (I just made that up word up but it's the most common melt comp).

@@nencrows_4580 Yeah, you kinda have to switch teams in order to counter the changing enemies. But ever since I lucked into the Amos bow in the standard banner, the GOAT has dominated my roster due to the insane damage boost. Doesn't look like this will change, either, as I don't pull from the scammy weapon banner and the dendro reactions aren't as good as melt.

oh the fridge team you used (ganyu kazuha kokomi collei) is exactly the team i used in one of my runs this abyss lol (second side being heizounational, no 5* weapon :D). Id like to note tho. I was being funny and my ganyu is 100% off field with an er bow, and kokomi had 4p clam with em/em/healing bonus. somehow i got all stars lol (i did post it on my channel, since it was quite fun). That aside I agree with all your points. I have ayaka for longer than I have ganyu, so I find ayaka easier to play. Overall I do think ayaka is much more simple to use (and therefore squeeze in more dmg that isn't lost by interruption and missed shots lol), but ganyu is more interesting if you like trying different comps. The typical morgana or melt ganyu are just basic, you can use her as cryo support (as I mostly do) in many teams. For example, I like using her with ayaka on mono cryo, but freeze also works amazingly well (particularly if you have kokomi but alas). And I also using her as support not for another cryo dps, but rather for teams like fridge (bloom + freeze) and kokomi teams in which she is on field with 4p clam (so kokomi + cryo + electro + flex, usually an anemo but can be a battery like xingqiu). So like, pull for her if you like her playstyle. If you have ayaka you really don't need her unless, again, you want to try smth different (reason why I pulled, I always intended to make her my support for the heck of it, even tho rosaria fulfills the same role, sometimes better). so yeah

I am pulling this time and you should too.😀😁 her constellations are awesome.

A few things to add as well, when it comes to vertical investments on ayaka vs ganyu, ayaka gets more from there as her constellations 2 and 4 are super strong. Not only that but she also has access to Mistsplitter on which arguably is the best offensive weapon in the game (yes more than homa due to having high base atk, crit dmg substat and a chunk of elemental dmg bonus). Meanwhile on ganyu's case, for freeze, amos is kind of overshadowed by harp or aqua simulacra and for melt is the new tighnari weapon and for her constellation, i would say that her powerspike is locked on later part of her const..

I would definitely disagree. First of all, ayakas mistplitter is what brings ayaka to ganyus level of damage output in the first place. So instead of looking at it as a buff it's more of an equalizer. Secondly, constellations are not available to 80% of players but although ayakas early constellations are slightly better, ganyus are nothing to look down on . Her C1 is quite powerful in particular which is quite ftp friendly. I don't know many who go past C2 anyways. Her BIS, Amos bow, is by far the best in melt and dosent especially lack in freeze either so it's not as if it's a lackluster weapon. I don't understand why the BIS is so important to you either seeming as weapons are swappable so it has little to no effect on ganyu. Coming from an ayaka main, I believe Ganyu is an overall better character with her larger scope covering support, cryo applier and still providing incredible DPS with easy an easy to build kit thanks to her access heaps of crit rate. Ayaka, however, is a more niche character, tightly fitting the roles of DPS and burst support. . A DPS who can output tons of damage and apply cryo quite quickly. However she does lack in some circumstances like melting with xiangling thanks to her not outputting enough units of cryo to reliably melt xianglings burst with her normal attacks, meaning the only time you can have her as a cryo applier is during her burst.

been playing her since her release, she was my first 5-star. for this abyss, i actually needed her freeze team to carry again. cryo may not react with dendro but freeze still remains one of the best reactions in the game imo. base level, if you don't have a cryo dps yet and have some primos left, get her. if you have ayaka, shenhe or a solid 4-star cryo dps, i'd say you are better off saving.

I have been running melt ganyu and freeze ayaka in abyss for quite a while and I'm pretty happy with it. Meanwhile Ganyu has always been in my exploration team since getting her, 2 shotting enemies from far away just makes it so easy and satisfying

I’ve had ganyu since release, and I’m still running the same artifact set I’m pretty sure, my artifacts are pretty dooky but she still makes the game a point and click adventure.

Side thought. Anybody else think that a Cryo/Dendro reaction (Wither or Wilt, idk) sounded like a no brainer? Like, shred their attack or something, seeing as Electro/Cryo shreds defence.

Ganyu is one of the most broken character, still. But she is also one of the "oldest" character as well so ppl are used to playing/seeing her all the time. Plus, she is a bow-aim character which is not the best for the mobile player or just ppl don't like the aim anyway. I am still waiting for a character who has good synergy with melt Ganyu, like pyro Kokomi, and then I can play with her without standing next to the enemies and bringing the shield character...

Off-field pyro application is so hard to come by in this game. I'd be all for pyro Kokomi. It doesn't help that I refuse to use Xiangling because I don't like her character.

I don't think she is broken, she is pretty balanced. However C4 Ayaka is definitely broken. I'd rather use Ayaka to one shot enemies when in farming stuffs than use Ganyu, Ayaka is just faster and shreds that defense.

@@sidi5eyess bring c4 to table makes no sense. One could argue that c6 eula or xiao is broken too. Pretty sure 90%+ will have at most c1.

I have ganyu and ayaka with their BIS weapon and have decent artifacts. I mainly use ganyu melt team and ayaka freeze team. Ganyu can dish out more damage but you gotta be mindful in playing. Ayaka can quickly shred the HP of enemies given that you can hit it with her burst. Overall I don't find melt ganyu to be a pain to play (probably because I am already used to it) but it was a pain to build artifacts to consistently crit the charge attacks (it needs to crit wasting to much dps potential if not crit melt). Ayaka is much more easier to build since her burst just eliminates the enemy. I still use both ganyu and ayaka to clear the abyss. If you want a dps bow character then pulling for ganyu won't be a mistake but farming the wanderers troupe set might be problematic for some.

The fact that Ganyu's Q has a theoretical permanent uptime (Duration and CD are identical!) is pretty amazing imho and why I just love slotting her in as a sub-DPS. I do have a Rosaria, but she is a physical build right now because of my misconception of her (I had her thought as a budget Eula... oops? XD) I also have Ayaka and I feel like the two are very different in how they work and it's great. Heck, I sometimes use BOTH in the same team! xD Its so much fun ^.^ And in the end, Genshin is supposed to be fun, no?

Love both ayaka and ganyu but truthfully tho only reason people say ayaka is better is because of her burst Undeniably ayaka has the most powerful consistent burst in the game and maybe with the exception that she can be a slightly easier to play, ganyu has her beat in pretty much ever other aspect.

@@thepotato1226 Maybe because of Ayaka’s alternate sprint, I felt the same thing about Mona since I’m so used to running around and dodging, so it feels weird to go into the alternate sprint instead of dodging normally, of course most of the time I don’t get hit anyways, but I always have that constant feeling that I’m going to be hit because of how the sprint works

Ganyu is still very strong, it's simply the fact that she shares supports with other top DPS teams that shifts her usage. People can use her freeze supports for Ayaka, and they can also use her melt supports for national and its variants, and we know how popular those teams are. For the people who want her, she is definitely a great pull, but you also have to keep in mind what characters you have available for her.

When I first got her on her initial rerun, I was pretty excited. Built her with a strong wanderers set and her amos bow. I used her for about a week and then…just forgot about her. Charged Attack bow playstyle was just very unsatisfying for me, even as an avid fps player, due to the weird grid system Genshin uses for aiming. However, while I was randomly experimenting, one day I put an R5 Mouns Moon on her and tried her with a burst focused blizzard strayer build. And it just clicked. A quick swap E Q playstyle for her as a sub-dps to apply cryo and buff up other cryo units was just perfect. The brain dead team I’ve been running for months now for boring domains and dailies is Kazuha + Ayaka + Kokomi + Ganyu. Ganyu and Kokomi do all the freeze and aoe DMG, Kazuha I can use to CC and swirl buff both Ganyu and Ayaka bursts, and so love Ayaka’s charged attack > Ganyu’s. This team is the go to no brain team for multi target abyss floors

Ganyu for me is one of those characters that I really recommend people try out before pulling. Other characters can be unga bunga'd with left clicks and charged attacks but Ganyu is dependent on charged shot playstyle, which is pretty unique as far as DPS units are concerned. She is notoriously hard to play on mobile too, so there's that to consider as well.

I was going to pull for Ganyu but after considering everything you said, I am more inclined to wait and save my primos. I don't really like the charged shot playstyle but more action combat. Ganyu may be strong but I am willing to wait for someone who fits my playstyle such as Ayaka. Thanks for the useful info

I had the same mindset as you. My fav play style was Keqing. But I pulled for Ganyu anyway (because of Amos). Turned out I discovered that her charged attack was way easier than I though and made game waaay more comfortable. Just to be able to shot everything from a distance helps a lot to cut time on open world activities.

@@vitormascarenhas4884 one other thing i realized when I got Zhongli was that the game started to go on easy mode and that it is getting a bit less fun 😞 Somehow I feel like if I pull for Ganyu, then I will somehow be clearing all the game content too fast... I just started playing a bit less than 2 months ago when Kazuha's banner did the rerun and now I have reached the 12th floor on spyral abyss. It is the only floor that remains and I am kind of sad at this point.

I got Ganyu C0 since first banner and she was the first of the few 5 stars that I have the matching BIS weapon(amos). Didnt pull on first rerun because I pull for Shenhe instead(kinda regret tho) Now I am gonna try for c1.

i literally fell in love with ganyu the second she was on screan in the story and i was lucky enough to get her the first time se was out she is my main unit ever since and dont regret a singel second, ganyu is an absolut beast when it comes to dps and i absolutly love the play style of having her to use the charged attacks BUT i can totally see why not everyone is enjoying the play style as it is right in some situations you are like a sitting duck but its not as bad as in the video mentioned her e skill wich takes away agro is super helpfull so you are not really as relient on a shield user as mentioned in the video i for an example dont use shields what so ever but still manage to get her shots off really easy its just a mather of time and geeting used to the timing how long her charge takes tbh. I do have to say one note her artefact are more expensive to farm tbh since you wanna run wanderers troup most the time and that is only awailable thrue boss drops wich are more expensive but you prob have a few lying around in your inventory if not used for exp so yes she needs a little more resin investment that others for artefakts sadly so overall i would still say ganyu is the best character in genshin impact (personal pref) play style whise, potential whise and most important estetic whise her art style is just 10/10 and her personality ( i mean real personality) makes her an 11/10 But i can clearly see as amazing i find her that a lot of players would not enjoy her play style SO wait for the free tryel test her out a few times and then deside if you whant to pull for her

As long as Dvalin remains a weekly boss that can give me more billet, I say Ganyu has a place since she can 1-3 shot his shield without having to wait for him to land

Need an advise. I want to play freeze Ganyu with Ayato, but I don't have Venti and will skip him again (have Kazuha tho), should I pull for her then?

I pulled for Ganyu some updates ago since she could be converted into a off-field/sub DPS/supporter. I want to play the game efficiently, and I was worried at that time since I thought main/on-field DPS's could be powercrept. And most main DPS's can't be converted to supports if they get replaced.

tried melt ganyu (around 180k~ish per charged) but I still prefer running international or rational instead (both teams use bennett and xl) they have similar clear times if not better than melt ganyu. meltyu just has better screenshot dps to look at

I've been wanting her since her second rerun, but lost her to Mona. Now I don't have guaranteed, but I am at 83 pity (was trying to pull Kazuha) with 41 more wishes saved (if I lose 50/50 at pity 90, worst case scenario). I just hope to win the 50/50 or else Imma intensely explore Sumeru and do the quests

@@glovs4188 Ayaka is great on freeze teams which makes up one side of the Abyss but Ganyu is probably the absolute best for melt comp as melt Ganyu's DPS output is insane so you can play it on the other half. I haven't had to use my Rational or Walnut team in almost a year now since having those two teams for Abyss. Both teams make the Abyss very trivial

@@its_anson77 lol what? Melt ganyu is among the least used comps. Why would i run benny and xl with ganyu when running benny and xl on international, rational and double hydro national is waaaay better. Heck even the sucrose national will outdps melt ganyu.

The point is, it doesn't matter how strong she is, I just don't enjoy playing her. Got her at her first banner because of the power hype, and now I just prefer almost any other character over her. Since I have no Shenhe, I use her on my Ayaka team for the burst, which is really good, and the cryo dmg increase. I'm glad she's a good support also, because using her as a dps is not for me. I'm aware that Shenhe is far more superior as a cryo support, but I don't plan on pulling for Shenhe because I have Ganyu. If you are new to the game, don't fall for that power talk, the game evolved so much since her release, the pool of characters are now very wide. Only pull for her if you absolutely love using her.

I agree,I got her because I'm a metaslave and I think she's very pretty but she's kinda hard to play especially compared to "easy" to play dps like Ayaka or even Yoimiya. I think Ganyu without a shield is really hard to play comfortably, and nigh impossible on mobile. I do love her melt charged numbers but like I said, she's got competition that feels a lot comfyer to play (and with cheaper supports)

For speedrunning daily commissions - Ganyu is the goat. I generally use her in the overworld just because how versatile and consistent she is. For Abyss, since I'm a mobile player, Ayaka is my comfort pick. It just came to preference and what unit you have really. If you have Shenhe, Kazuha/C6 Sucrose, Kokomi ... Ayaka is my suggestion for those smooth, smooth rotations, like very smooth. For specific comps, freeze comp just basically have the same concept - For Ganyu have Mona as Ayaka have Shenhe, both buffs. Ganyu have Diona as Ayaka has Kokomi. Ganyu have Venti as Ayaka to Kazuha. These ofcourse are interchangeable, but as a 1.0 player that observe several meta shifts, Ganyu's best freeze team (Venti, Mona, Diona) is best suited to enemies that could be lifted with Venti's burst because of the broken quadratic scaling and Mona's omen extension. Meanwhile, Ayaka is well rounded overall and have smoother gameplay, more elite enemies and boss oriented. Ayaka is for nuking bosses, and Ganyu is for consistency.

Ganyu melt teams are great against elite bosses (floor 12) tough. Her freeze morgana is useful until floor 11.

I currently use my ganyu as a burst support nowadays since my Ayaka already covers the cryo dps role

I have Ayaka and Ganyu, got Ayaka first and Ganyu never used seriously in Abyss because Ayaka is way more easy to play, plus I play with a controller so charged attack bow is a pain with a controller. Maybe I can use her as a support, but I have Shenhe, Rosaria and Diona, even Kaeya have a better role as a support, maybe if I get venti in the future I'm gonna try morgana, melt Ganyu is to pain in the butt to play, even with Zhongli.

She's perfect for beginners, she's ranged so less dmg taken overall, most of her dmg comes from her charged shots so she's unaffected by abyss/enemies debuffs and she's AOE, all in all she will always be useful due this advantages.

I have a great ayaka with 250% critdmg. However I also have 2 Amos bow that no one is using and are just going stale in my inventory...should I get ganyu to make use of those 5 star weapons I could use her with Ayato or xiangling...what do you guys suggest?

im pulling for her cause i really have no main dps on my team except Raiden maybe or Kazuha?? and i was lucky to pull for the amos bow on the standard banner so it's a no brainer for me. hopefully i can finally 36 the abyss with her.

one thing ill say is that if you are lucky enough to have amos bow, since it can come on the standard banner, you would benefit alot from getting c0 ganyu.

I would disagree that she requires low investment. To her get proper damage you really do need the Amos bow with good wanderer's Troup artifacts. Ntm with melt ganyu you really need zhongli's since xianglings burst can only be applied from close, even Diona's shield isn't enough and she's the 2nd best shielder.

I think with Hamayumi or Skyward Harp she deals a lot of DMG in Melt too, so Amos isn't necessary at all. And the next great thing is u'll get a good set of wanderers along the way so her artifacts are by far the most broken ones on my account I'd say (and still relatively far from perfect). But I absolutely agree with u and the shielder. I have a LP Maxed Diona and a hybrid Zhongli. And Dionas Shield even if it's not crap is not enough. But Zhongli is great.

One other thing in Ganyu's favor: she is still great for slaughtering the over-world. Hard hitting, at range, AoE. And while she lost a bit of effectiveness in Inazuma, due to higher hp totals, Sumera's mobs seem to have pretty low hp so far. That said, there's Yelan, who excels at both fast travel and can slaughter groups with her E and barbed shot. So Ganyu has a bit of competition in the over-world she didn't have before. But the two characters differ in other ways, and Yelan being great for the over-world doesn't change that Ganyu is also great for it. Anyway, I'll be rolling on her banner a bit, to see if I can get Dori. A Ganyu gets me her cryo resist debuff, while Kokomi would get me C2, which is her worst constellation.

I am pulling for her because I have only 2 cryo characters ( Chongyun and Kaeya) and I am AR55, I have her guaranteed and I can't wait to have some fun with a melt team.

Ganyu was my first 5-star character. I just started this January and got her on her first rerun. It's fun using her and I even made her my support and sub-dps a lot of times. A thing which made my sibling complaint at me. XD Anyway, she's super strong and useful in a lot of ways that I find myself putting her on a lot of my team comps, even now at 3.0.

Ayaka is easier to build. Ganyu has more build options, which results in different gameplay and more team variation. Ayaka is a faster DPS, which is especially great for abyss. Ganyu has broken charge shots but requires good aim and patience. Ayaka is beginner friendly, Ganyu isn't (especially mobile users). If you have Ayaka, you don't need to role for Ganyu. If you have Ganyu, you might want to roll for Ayaka. I still wouldn't suggest rolling for Ganyu since sumeru characters are coming up.

I'd argue that Ganyu is easier to build than ayaka. Ganyu requires less crit rate due to her A1 passive and she does not need the ~40% ER that ayaka desperatly needs.

I hope people read the comments the video isnt inaccurate it just her pros are under stated imo. I get why, if I was making a video on whether to pull the last thing I'd want is for someone to have buyers remores because of what II said but the nature of the comments as apposed to a video allows for a more accurate account imo.

Excellent review. I think you hit all the big points. Personally, if you were a newer player, I'm not sure that I would recommend pulling for Ganyu. She's great in many ways, and I enjoy playing her, but if you want to main DPS her, she requires high investment in weapons, artifacts, and 5-star supports. After all that, she just tends to get curb stomped a lot. Charged attacks are just too slow in the modern Genshin world. For myself, I have 4 highly invested teams, and I was looking for something new. I found that Ganyu made a fantastic support / sub-DPS for Ayaka. My team consists of Kazuha, Kokomi, Ganyu, and Ayaka. That team is broken good, and as a support, Ganyu's burst is AMAZING. So... I would not suggest pulling her for a main dps, but she's a stellar support!

tbh most problems listed here are merely a skill issue. i got ganyu on her very first banner and i only had diona to protect her and sucrose for swirls for the longest time and still managed to 36* the abyss whenever it wasnt full of cryo enemies with just her, at c0, and she still clears it no problem. sure, now i have zhongli, mona and kazuha to help her out in freeze, but almost every other dps also wants them, no? as for the kairagi point, i actually find her excellent for the jumping enemies cuz you dont need to run after them with her if you're a good sniper. she's really comfy so long as you can aim and have at least a diona on your team

I have both Ganyu and Ayaka, and they both hit hard. I do find Ayaka needs more in buffing and supports and feels more restrictive to play optimally because she hits better in freeze teams, which don’t excel in boss fights. Meanwhile Melt Ganyu can literally just use Gouba to hit 80-100k charged shots on most targets. I prefer Ganyu because I liked the precise-hard hitting Sniper-like gameplay in PFS games, and that Ganyu can be a viable support whereas Ayaka can only excel at being a Main DPS. At the end of the day, play who and how you want, and always let others do the same. Just don’t assume Ganyu “fell off” or “isn’t irrelevant” because you are just wrong

As someone who has Ayaka I do realize that when she sends out her Ult sometimes it misses which is super annoying, unlike Ganyu who has a massive radius and I can definitely understand ganyu as a support compared to ayaka as a support is much much better, because of the sheer utility she brings to the party. I honestly could get ganyu but I want to wait until I can properly invest in my teams before I spread myself too thin (mainly since I’m waiting for Childe 🙃)

Yup, agree with you. Ganyu is harder to use but her DPS ability far stronger than Ayaka. But if you prefer easy mode better get Ayaka or Raiden. Don't forget that Ganyu can become a support or sub-DPS. FYI AYAKA + GANYU quick swap team is quite strong, and can brainless 36stars abyss.

As someone that is gonna get her because of copium guaranteed pulls this is nice considering i have doubts since the release of dendro elements and this cleared my doubts so ill still get her with a melt comp

Yoimiya have higher usage rate than ganyu nough said. Community trashed yoi calling her useless back when she was at 20% usage. Ganyu is at 17% usage right now and shes still good? Oh the irony. 😂

Usage rate has a bit more to do with current spiral abyss trends than how good or how bad a specific character is, so it’s relatively unfair to compare them in that way. For example, Tighnari currently has a 31% play rate, but that doesn’t strictly mean it’s because he’s better than everyone below him, it’s just that he was freshly released in 3.0, so lots of people ran him in spiral abyss 😁

@@dragonflymarcus that doesnt make sense. By that logic. Just because kazu, zhongli, kokomi, raiden, benny have higher usage doesnt mean they're simply better than the ones below them? And if were talking about just cause they're new argument. Hutao is also a main dps released at around the same time as ganyu. Why is she used more than ganyu? The abyss trends argument is also bad. What trend will make ganyu unpopular? Last abyss was understandable as there's an anti cryo half. But ayaka still sees 40% usage at that time despite her being stuck to just freeze team. While ganyu supposedly have access to benny and xl which will make her usable in those anti cryo floors.

She is still top tier and I prefer her to Ayaka. Ayaka sprint is lame, and she is less versatile because she is not good for melt. Melt Ganyu is more like a quickswap team. Few use it, but a cheap team for her is Diona, Sucrose and Xiangling - my current abyss team for first half.

I have ayaka and ganyu so I can said that is really nice to have both of them not like other who would recommend you to get 2 different element dps BC I can run 2 cryo dps in 2 side of the abyss ( cryo is the element that rarely being counter in the abyss from 2.0 ) and they are the top character ( waifu too ) so as long as you investment well they will do the job

I disagree with so much of this video. First, dendro has done nothing to elevate a single cryo character. The "teams" with cryo/dendro are underwhelming and rather useless. Dendro has added a single viable team comp into the meta and it's all centered around hydro/electro. Second, Ayaka is probably my 2nd least favorite character to play right behind Mona. Using Ayaka for anything other then a burst bot means you get to deal with her god awful sprint mechanics and underwhelming "charged attack" gameplay. Frustrating and boring. She absolutely sucks as a "support" role as well. Ganyu on the other hand is FAR more flexible. You can literally slot her into any team comp you need a cryo unit. Her burst uptime is 100%, she has a taunt, and tons of charged shot DMG. She can be the main on-field dps, a secondary DPS, a off-field support, fits in quick swap teams. Ayaka can't do half of what ganyu does. And when it comes to DPS their typical rotational DPS numbers are going to be near identical with equal support.

That’s literally what he mentioned. Also bloom teams are a lot more efficient with creating dendro cores and if in fridge could make faster ones. If you have a high em activator (bloom/burgeon/hyperbloom) they can do a steady 20k-30k dmg although there is a cap but regardless they’re consistent with dmg. If you’re talking abt alt sprint, it’s fine I don’t get how it’s clunky it’s more a gimmick but for Ayaka and Mona it’s also another source of their element. In terms of flexibility yeah ganyu is it and that’s that but ayaka in a freeze team can put out consistent burst dmg if positioned correctly but in freeze that’s not much of a problem. For bosses freeze isn’t the best unless you do ayaka sunfire or sumn.

Her spring mechanics are not even that bad, you just aren’t that good… It’s nothing like Mona because it actually infuses her weapon with cyro after you use it, so when done right you are able to apply Cryo even before you attack.. plus her combate is way quicker

i have been a ganyu main since her first banner and she helps A LOT with world exploration, doing daily comms and clearing the annoying enemies along the path have never been easier

That's the TRUTH. I love melee characters, but I can't deny that Ganyu is waaaaaaay better for commissions and open world.

I've been an ayaka main since her first release and have her bis. ganyu is one of the characters i wanted the most when i started playing but she keeps on avoiding me. even worse, i got early pity tighnari 😭😭. should i still pull for ganyu or save for cyno cos i want him too

Pull for both if ganyu comes u win and if she isn’t u can get her in her rerun in the future, and cyno too uf u didn’t get him rn u can get him in the future, or pull for who do u love more , best wishes for ur pulls

i started playing genshin during her banner and had no idea about banners and characters, so i ended up skipping her 😔 and now i have her amos bow, zhongli/kazu/mona/venti, ar58 f2p and im super excited for her

I initially plan to pull ganyu but after dendro was introduce i realized i dont need another cryo dps since i have ayaka it will be too much for me to have two i think ill have to skip her again and wait for a dendro dps or wait kusunali dendro is a game changer i find it easier to clear mobs by reactions

So if I am playing melt ganyu would kazuha or zhongli be better? The other 2 members would be xiangling and Bennett of course.

I use team Ganyu (main dps) Xiangling (support) Bennett (healer/support) Xingqiu (Extra ) Is it good? I do have 1 more 5* which is c2 keqing

Thing abou ganyu is she fit as the main dps a sub dps/cryo buffer well that her place in meta is quite secure unless a better version of her get released..
