Gang gang. They won multiple other Emmys as well. Behind the scenes type awards but they won a total of nine Emmys tonight, more than any other show, including succession, Ted lasso, etc.

The hole in the wall gets me. Mikey tried to burn the place down and Richie covered the hole with a Fenway Park poster. Richie put up a positive image to cover Mikey's decline, and he's still covering for Mikey...

Knocking the wall down without telling Sydney is kid of wrong. It had to be done either way, but if they are pretending to be "partners", he probably should have told her.
@brettcloud85504 ай бұрын
I was so incredibly frustrated with carm in e3. Syd may not be officially a partner but she was there pitching the second loan to the uncle. He made the plans to go out and taste test for inspiration for HIS restaurant. He dropped the ball majorly for some high school crush and gave her attitude when she was like "wtf dude" about it at the end of the day.

Seeing Carm constantly self-sabotage his mental health (him giving claire the wrong number/ monologue in ep 3 ) is so sad to see. Hopefully by the end of the series Carm will be actually happy.

Matey crashing his bike and getting back on it and carrying on all bloody and drunk is the most Danish thing in this episode 😂😂 Also, that hotdog is AWESOME! Don't judge before you try! 😄

I don't remember where the Fak-Nat dynamic first showed up, but I loved it. The Denmark-Marcus storyline shows that the show could definitely do a calm and relaxed vibe. And nice episode to drop on MLK Jr Day with Sydney's line. Claire...erm...hmmm...I had no real problem with her as a character, but...her role in the story...hmmmm...

Yeah I get what they were trying to do with adding Claire, for Carmy's story. But it was one of the few times I wanted to skip scenes on the show.

Jimmy, I’m with you re Marcus and not even acknowledging his complete lack of awareness/apology. And I eat because I’m hungry, so these little one bite wonders aren’t for me, presentation be damned. I know I’m super late to the party here but the 3rd shift grind has been grimy lately. I work in a deli so some of this is relatable, in a third cousin relationship kinda way. Succession is up next for me, looking forward to watching your reactions to those as well.

I would say yes, I do enjoy eating food like that. But I think most of us can tell when a dish is weird because it's creative, vs. a chef just throwing unnecessary expensive ingredients together to justify a high price tag.
@Highfalutinloyd6 ай бұрын
That beautiful or intricate presentation, imo, is part of the experience your pay for when you go to an expensive restaurant. Like, there’s a Ukrainian restaurant in NYC that’s in a literal basement, the food comes on paper trays, no presentation, and I personally think it tastes better than Veselka and it definitely costs less. In that place, the lack of “presentation” is what you expect and almost makes the food all that more impressive. But if I go to a restaurant where I’m paying well over $100 per person, I’m not only expecting the food to taste amazing, but to be able to see the time and care that the chefs take in preparing the dish; it’s part of the experience, if you’re into that kind of experience.

THANK YOU Jimmy! First person i've seen react to this show that acknowledges that Sydney isn't more than Carmy's number 2. The only thing she actually contributes is time and effort. She wont have any fall back other than time lost if this business goes under. She's not almost 1 mil in debt with the Uncle. Worst case for her this business fails and she goes and does whatever she wants.

@@douglaskelley4486 I mean deferring payment for 6 months is still INSANE. Imagine working for 6 months and getting no income for thoes 6 months, your still paying bills for thoes 6 months, still buying food, paying rent. That's crazy. Most people in America living paycheck to paycheck.

Fine dining can be truly incredible. They can create levels and layers of flavor that you’ve never experienced, that are totally unpredictable. The presentation and the ambiance and the event of it all makes it really special. Usually it’s something you plan in advance and look forward to for a few weeks (or months).

30:50 to answer your question, yes. There’s certainly restaurants that take a relatively normal meal and mark up the price with gaudy bullshit but you can absolutely tell when a tasting is prepared by someone with a love of the form. Fine dining is a lot like going to a play or a concert or a gallery or something. You’re there to appreciate the experience

Can't wait for what you think of the 2nd half! Yes i do agree i think music ramped up this season and imo it can be too much but the choices are so good. My favorite thing is when you catch a background joke or a bit thats going on in a corner, sometimes those are the funniest and make the show so real. I agree Carmy saying "is that in my head" during the alarm going off is super concerning and shows how not okay he is in general. (he also doesnt wear earplugs when everyone else is sitting at the table). Question any reason you're putting 2-3 episodes in one video instead of individual?

S2 however, feels a lot better with how the characters act and behave which I think it's honestly better and glad they went down that route. Moments in S1 feel like straight up dark comedy parodies if you compare them to S2.
