The intro in episode 7 was from Lin Brehmer, who was a staple of Chicago radio for decades. He passed away last year from cancer. He was an absolute legend, nicknamed “everyone’s best friend in the whole world,” as he brought such a warmth and you could tell how much he genuinely loved and cared for the art of music. We miss him dearly.

Richie,s character arc in both series is chef’s kiss 😂

Ep 7 certainly feels like a heart attack for 20 minutes. Every time I think to myself why didnt he just cancel that shit? My fav part of S1 is def Carmys monologue, its just so authentic. I cant wait to see you react to S2! also shout out to Bar Rescue I love that show

2 seasons in, already in my top 5 shows of all time. Incredible show

What I like about all the cash being hidden is that the only reason it took all season to find it is because Carmy rejected the spaghetti - reportedly a classic side dish that customers liked, but which he thought was bad. So while it does feel a little convenient from a narrative perspective, this cash would have shown up probably in episode 1 or 2 if they had just kept with the System and kept making the spaghetti. Carmy's insistence on doing it his own way (plus the note falling behind the cabinet and then being left there by Ritchie) is the only reason the money wasn't found much sooner. IDK why Mikey hid the money like that (maybe because Carmine really is a shady dude, hard to tell) - but his intent seems to be to have given it all to Carmy, along with the restaurant, to build the dream they once shared.

Show is phenomenal and only gets better. It makes you want to root for all of the characters. It's such a feel good show.

The end is not a deus ex machina. The money in the cans is set up in episode 1 with Carmy questioning why Michael liked using the more expensive, smaller cans. And the money doesn't solve their problem. If they return it to the loan shark, they still have to pay the interest. But they don't as it's clear they will use this money to turn The Beef into a Michelin-star restaurant, an even more expensive endeavor.

Great reaction. This show is tremendous. The writing, acting, and every day story telling is top notch. I love how you end up caring about all of the main characters whether you like them or not lol Season 2 gets even better! Syd stays a queen and Richie gets redemption!

44:40 I absolutely agree with you, while i think Carmy did play am important part in the chaos, i also think he is not the ONLY one to blame. Marcus and Sidney did need to apologyze and practice some accountability for their own mistakes. some stuff that sidney says to Reachie and others while being stressed sounds like she is tlking to her self. Of course this is not a critic to the show itself, on the contrary i think this makes for great flawed and human characters.

Exactly. Like carmy needed to realize this isn’t the high end restaurant he used to work at and the people working won’t appreciate that. But also Sydney was excited to work for Carmy because he was successful. She knows how it works, so when he asked her to move in the chaos she should have listened. I don’t like how when it’s stressful and Carmy gets upset everyone’s quick to call him insane and crazy, when that’s not entirely fair. Sydney should have listened and that was not the moment to hold Carmys anger against him it was stressful. Marcus was just so into it because he’s excited and get it. He wants to show his accomplishments to the person who kinda helped him harness that passion, but again it was not the moment to hold anger against Carmy. I do like that the next episode or something Marcus did just go back and start working again letting it go in a way

I think the same thing all the time. He’s one of the smartest and most authentic reactors. And yet he’s just not growing like other channels. I’ve been watching since he started GoT back in 2016.

Whenever I search for reactions to tv and movies, Jimmy's channel is always at the bottom, if it's suggested at all. Just did a test on "the bear reaction" and Jimmy's was way way down there. For whatever reason, youtube don't like this channel

I just finished season 1 today i have mixed feelings on the Cydnie/Marcus/Carmie/Richie drama I feel like Cyd and Marcus were absolutely in the wrong too and it was never brought up. Richie is an asshole but Cyd was way out of line the way she spoke to him especially bringing his family into it. Carmie was in a HORRIBLE disaster of orders piling up and Marcus is fucking around with donuts when theyre not even on the menu, Carmie was justified in losing his damn mind. I just didnt like that they seemed to be portrayed as the victims and its all just moved on from

I would quit if I ever had to work with Sydney. Every aspect of things that went wrong that day was her fault, and then gaslit Carmie.

Bro i honestly hate Sydney and Marcus since episode 7 and 8. Sydney fucked up, didn't take responsability, didn't follow instructions from the lead chef and ended up abandoning him in the worst time possible. While Marcus is being a little kid making a doughnout in complete chaos. Childish mfs end up talking shit abour Carmy in episode 8 aswell, damn stupid characters

I've never seen ritchie hold back before bc i would have ROASTED sydney. Adding in the daughter?! I would've backhanded her!! And marcus with that doughnut- i would've have shoved that in his face sooo hard he would've choked on it. Omg i mean wtf?! And sydney "accidentally" giving the customer her food was as "accidental" as stabbing ritchie. U NEVER hold a knife like that in a kitchen period. The amount of rage i felt in this episode was wild!! Idk how carmy didn't give up.
