In this video, we’re going to talk about red meat. Is red meat good for you, or is red meat bad for you?
Many of the well known so-called dangers of eating red meat don’t seem to hold up.
I don’t recommend consuming any processed meats. I recommend consuming organic grass-fed meat. Grass-fed red meat is not going to cause serious issues.
There are certain toxic chemicals that are generated when you heat protein, especially if you heat it with sugar on it like barbecue sauce. It’s best if you don’t overly cook red meat because the more you heat the meat, the more chemicals there can be.
You can also lessen these chemicals by adding:
• Mustard
• Garlic
• Black pepper
• Herbs (basil, hot pepper, oregano, rosemary)
People who already have excess iron may have a big problem with consuming red meat because it’s loaded with iron. Iron can accumulate and become toxic if a person consumes too much. If you’re consuming red meat and you don’t feel well after, you should have your iron tested because you may have iron overload.
Iron can affect the:
• Heart
• Brain
• Liver
Genetic conditions that can make iron overload worse:
• Hemochromatosis
• Beta thalassemia
• Sickle cell
Action steps:
• Don’t overly cook meat
• Consume grass-fed organic red meat
• Get your iron checked
• EDTA
• If you have one of the genetic conditions above, you may want to donate blood
• Avoid: supplements with iron, fortified foods, alcohol, iron cookware

Along with keto and IF, I've lost 85 lbs and I feel more satiated after I eat a meal, unlike my old habits of eating lots carbs to fill me up instead of red meat. Red meat is amazing!

wtf most people who don't eat meat are basically UNDER weight and super skinny and have a hard time gaining weight, it's not the meat, it's bc you probably eat a bunch of junk and overload with carbs. Just eat a balanced diet, but 90% of Americans just eat either junk food or are carnivores/vegans, never balanced.

+Tara VanDeVen I'm sorry, but common sense isn't enough here. And what even is common sense when it comes to food consumption? Is it common sense that red meat is bad? How is it common sense? It's not common sense so much as a widely held belief based on what some supposed authority has told us. Everything we think we know comes from "experts," scientists and researchers doing studies and reporting their findings, these are the opinions, evidence-based if you want, that are passed on to the rest of us average folks to shape our notions about food and supposedly inform our decisions. So there is no common sense, just widely disseminated beliefs held about food based on what someone who supposedly knows more about it tells us is true. But this video points out how clear it is that what we're being told is at best an oversimplification.

I don't eat meat at all, however I don't like when information; like the correlation between red meat and cancer is misconstrued. It's obvious, but people shouldn't believe everything they hear and instead go out of their way to find out more information about nutrition. Such as this topic. Thank you Dr. Berg for being honest and unbiased.

On jury duty, they took us to a restaurant before deliberating. Three of us young to middle-aged lean men had red meat. Three of the 40's and 50s, overweight people had big, (BIG) salads. Did our conditions affect our food choices, or did the food choices affect our conditions?

But the Bible teaches us to love our neighbor. To put God first, ourselves last, and others in between. If someone is dying, and their gift of life can be saved; I, nor any Christian I know would have any problem giving something we were gifted to someone in need. So please, get off your blessed assurance; and love like Jesus loved. ❤️

Yes, some dark people have access to blood banks, but I personally draw the line at abortion ie. sacrificing children for moloch. Donating blood helps us build new, healthier blood and can really help diabetics and others with blood disorders. My Christian understanding is we are not supposed to drink it.

@@hahna77 I'm not a Christian, but I do respect all religion; Catholic, Christian, Islam, Hindu, Buddha, etc as I believe they teach something good. But donating blood has health benefit, and in my opinion, taking care of our health is one way to show gratitude to God. It potentially helps other people's life too. And when there is a chance to do two goods in one action, why not take it? It doesn't hurt, and doesn't cost us anything. I think it's a win win situation :)

Dr. Berg, I have had too much iron for over 15yrs. I used to get threatened with having to have blood removed every month. But I found that I have three options to reduce the iron naturally. 1. Eat less red meat. 2. Exercise. 3. Eggs. With the eggs I understand that for each egg eaten it reduces the uptake of iron by 25%. So far I have not had to have blood taken off.

@Laura Croft spinach is full of oxalates which prevent much iron from being absorbed, but what is will not be heme, it will be elemental iron, which is toxic. That is why he is saying red meat is a good source of good iron. It is already packaged in the right protein, and the human body easily absorbs it. There are even heme receptors in the digestive tract.
