11 LIES about Red Meat They Want You to Believe - 2024
Humans have been eating red meat for just as long as they have been breathing air, drinking water, and playing in the Sun. So, when an "expert" says red meat is unhealthy, they better bring some strong research to prove it. What happens in reality is the experts bring very weak research and use it to mislead you into thinking that too much red meat might cause something bad to happen to your health.

People telling me that you have to eat fibre, eat the rainbow, need carbs (hospital diabetes dietician told me that I wasn't eating enough carbs and would lose muscle - I've proved her wrong), you shouldn't eat too much bacon etc etc etc. I'm listening to my body now. Good riddance!! Who needs to engage with that level of stupidity… her own words tell it all.
I just had ultrasound on the joints in my hands, I was referred six months ago when my hands were swollen, red and painful with suspected arthritis. While waiting for test dates, I began keto and l've been carnivore for two months now. My inflammation has drastically reduced. During the ultrasound, I was asked about my diet. They found one joint with inflammation, and I was told that this is because I was eating TOO MUCH red meat and that I should reduce this. I confidently replied by telling her that I have inflammation in ONLY one joint BECAUSE I've been eating red meat! She responded that red meat causes inflammation, and that I should eat a balanced diet. I asked for the source of her claim, and to explain what a balanced diet is? She didn't know the source, and told me that it's difficult to say what a balanced diet is. You could feel the atmosphere change instantly, despite me being respectful. "Problem" is, carnivore diet is far less sustainable for food industry, that is why people spread bad information. In carnivore diet- there is no addiction like sugar- sugar is added in almost everything, vegetarian meals too, there is far less variety for food company to make bigger profit, people dont crave or over-eat on plain meat like they do cakes or burgers with lot of additives and excess salt. Always look who funded those researches, mostly food companies, and they would never fund something they know it will show bad image for them, its already fixed to give people misinformation.

Dr Berry - Thank you. I haven’t been able to drop the last 20 pounds of my twin baby weight since their birth in 2013. After only ONE month of just following your advice and not obsessing about calories and portion size and - 1. Eating the best meat I can afford, including red meat, pork, chicken (and some shrimp and tuna thrown in) 2. Eating only full fat dairy (as a compliment to a meal not the main thing) and 3. Eating the green vegetables on your approved list with full fat homemade dressing - I have lost 11 lbs. No hunger. No cravings. Sleeping SO much better and no afternoon energy slumps. I’m Just eating what I love until full and happy. I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel to not ONLY finally slimming down but even MORE- sleeping BETTER than I have in YEARS and having more energy than ever. I need energy and sleep since I homeschool two kiddos full-time and run an online business and podcast..! This way of eating is truly a revelation. My son is an 11 year Type One Diabetic and I have shown him your videos too. He has been switching to savory meat based breakfasts ( NO MORE oatmeal and smoothies!!) and his Dexcom CGM readings are so steady it’s incredible!! I tell ya, when I first showed him some of your Carnivore videos he wasn’t too sure, but after a few days he told me, “Dr. Berry seems like he’s onto something here about meat and glucose levels..” 😂😂 This lady and her son just want to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all you do ❤ I’ll update you!

@jenniferchristopherson , My 12 year old daughter was just diagnosed with diabetes about a month ago. We just found out the past week that she’s type 2. Before all of the testing came back to confirm that they were treating her as a type 1. The endocrinologist thought there was no way she was a type 2. She got a Dexcom g7. Is your sons Dexcom accurate? We had been depending on it and going by it until the last one we put on last week. We started using the meter and comparing it and it’s consistently been 20-30 off or more. I’m not sure if it was user error or what.

Meat and dairy caused your cancer. Don't listen to idiots like Ken Berry. RESEARCH!!!
Like so many others here, eating mostly fatty red meat (almost 5 years now) eliminated gum disease, IBS, acne, excess fat, arthritis, hair loss, reduced BP and so much more! I now get constant complements on my skin, which, after a lifetime of being embarrassed by my acne, still gets me emotional. Whenever I stray and reintroduce any form of processed carbs (like my favourite pizza when eating out with friends) or fibrous veggies (like broccoli), I get arthritis and gut issues again.

Something bad is going to happen to your health if you go Carnivore, from a health " professional's " perspective....you will no longer be a meal ticket for them to write prescriptions for. I started the cleansing Lion diet 3 weeks ago, and have lost 12 lbs, and dropped over 20 points on BP, causing me to safely discontinue all meds. There are a host of other positive health changes no need to go into detail on, and ZERO negative ones. I'm just scratching the surface, and at a starting weight of 287 to have this many changes for the better in 3 weeks, I know I'm on the right path.

@@jond230 The Lion diet is nothing but beef, or meat from any animal with hooves and a chambered stomach, salt, and water/electrolytes. It's a cleansing diet that in about 90 days should clear all the sugar/toxins/crap out of your system and allow you to slowly reintroduce the Carnivore diet which adds bacon, butter, and eggs. Carbs are an absolute no go, as are plants, fruits, nuts, especially SUGAR. The first couple of weeks can be a bit tough which the electrolytes help with. You either go in to this diet committed, or don't go at all. Carbs are something you may try about a year down the road, if you're serious about taking control of your health. Sounds like your body is letting you know carbs are trash.

I have been carnivore for just over three weeks and can already see the difference. I am sleeping a bit better and my pain is less severe than it was. I am amazed that the body can do so much healing in less than a month. My weight is normal, but at the high end of what is ideal for my body type, but I have still dropped a couple of pounds. I am eating two meals a day and loving it!

I did carnivore for 3 months and it was amazing. But then when I hit the 4th month, I started doing long endurance sports like 2 hours walking, and an hour swimming. After a month my body finally could not take it anymore. I had heart palpitation, could not sleep for 2 days, my head felt like I was walking on the cloud. I thought I was going to have a heart attack or stroke, I went to ER and got two tubes of vitamins shots into my body, rest for 3 hours in ER bed, nurse took my EKG. I felt so weak. The EKG result came out and my heart is perfect! My body slowly recovering during those 3 hours. Doctor gave me a few vitamins and some medicines (I forgot the name, but those were for my digestions system). Doctor never told me what I had. She just said I needed to eat balance diet😢 I went home and rest for 2 days. And I felt good again. So my conclusion was I was running out of sugar, and I did long long long hours of endurance training on 99% carnivore diet! I probably have to intervere my diet with occasionally having carbs (like complex carbs or carbs from fruits such as carnivore Paul saladino does ?) if I am doing long endurance sports. Right now I am in a mesa again because after that insident I was forced to get back to normal standard diet (eat lots of carbs and junks food😮). I have now high uric acid on my blood, high LDL cholesterol and sometimes high blood pressure. So, I am going back to be carnivore again but with some adjustment as I love my endurance training.

Good morning Dr Ken. My family thinks I'm nuts for going carnivore but it's helped me a lot.
I'm a 67 year old male diagnosed with prostate cancer a year ago. Refused all medical advise on how to treat it. Started using a carnivore diet along with 222mg of Fenbendozal daily. I've experienced significant progress with my prostate since doing this. Not cancer free yet, but I'm confident I will be cancer free in the next year. I now pee less, no burning, no spasms, no pain, no inflammation anymore. Carnivore and Fenbendozal is working for me. People need to stop blindly following the advice of traditional medicine and big pharma. There are other ways to treat prostate cancer other than the standard of care being offered by most doctors.

Written in a time when you were allowed to be a patriot and proud of your country of birth. To cut a long story short he ends up eating nothing but Caribou and blow me if he doesn't get better. Its a brilliant adventure story told as only John Buchan can. Well worth a listen as all his books are. Thank you for all you do. Much appreciated.

Its more attributed to elimination of sugar, and ultra processed carbs which come packed with lot of artificial additives. Protein is used for muscle, calcium for bones and iron for blood cells, meat has lot of these and these are main elements to go thru day and to give you energy, not enough protein- muscle cant regenerate enough after work or exercise.

My wife and I started a carnivore diet nine months ago. We have both lost 30 lbs. Our energy levels have greatly increased. I’m 68 and she’s 66. There’s no turning back for either of us now.
Im 53, turning 54 in a few weeks. As a child I was anemic and our country doctor told me Mother red meat every day and lots of leafy greens. To this day, I eat lean red meat frequently. My cholesterol is great, Im no longer anemic and people often tell me they can't believe my age. My Mom was a type 2 diabetic and her dr insisted she cut back on red meats, and she did as told. She died of heart disease st the age of 52. ...
My sister says her Kidney specialist says she can't have any meat because its too high in protein (purine) and that it would be damaging to her kidneys. She told me she got a kidney stone on Keto but I believe she wasn't doing a true keto diet. I've lost 110 lbs on ketovore and think she's full of crap.
I'm really getting annoyed by all the lies circulating around red meat.
Last night I had a big fatty sirloin steak with chunks of butter and cheese. I just had one of the better nights of sleep ever after maybe 15 years of waking up in the middle of the night to what I think is the somogyi effect, a symptom of diabetes. Animal fats, the answer is animal fats. Cholesterol too, your brain is made of it and your liver makes it, and human and other milks that babies are fed are full of it. That food pyramid that suggests your main portion be bread and grains is whats causing people problems. Look back far enough and you will find Rockefeller, after being ousted from the oil industry, moved to monopolize the pharma industry, and they profit off you being unhealthy when they sell you pills to treat the problems caused by all the bad food people are eating.

That's probably because the early research on so-called high protein diets (they were specifically targeting the Atkins diet) were done using a lab-created protein goo, not real food, and it evidently did damage the kidneys. However, decades later, when researchers tried to duplicate the results using real food, they found that there was no damage to the kidneys.

@@quigleyclampett6132 It's not just the old school that have things wrong. My doctor graduated in 2018 and is using the TC/HDL ratio not the Trig/HDL ratio. My Trig/HDL ratio is good but because my LDL is high my TC/HDL ratio looks bad.
Hi Ken , great channel , the best in keeping us all informed with plenty of facts of what human beings need to eat to be healthy and stay healthy. Thanks
DR. Berry, Would you mind doing a video on nutritional bio-availability of the foods that you recommend eating? And maybe educate us on some of the nutrient families that go together and what nutrients cancel others out? ie: Calcium + Vit. D3, But Calcium will cancel out magnesium... etc.
Great video! Liked 👍🏼 & Shared ✅ Starting with Keto and moving towards Ketovore and now 98% Carnivore, I’ve never felt better! I move better and sleep better. So glad Dr Berry has the 🏀🏐🎾 to tell it like it is.
if you eat a lot of meat that's got added sugars in it and they say that your diabetes is getting worse, start going for pure meats, like hamburger and steak

LMFAO That's absolutely ridiculous lol a gram of Sugar in some Sausage or a Meatball is not the same thing as a Coke with 39 grams of Sugar and Zero Fat

Thanks for sharing this information, Dr. Berry.
A friend has gone vegetarian and says she's lost 42 pounds and feels better than ever. She has diabetes and bad mental health issues. Anytime I post anything about carnivore or ketovore she does everything she can to claim it doesn't work for everyone. OK. Fine. But this is the same woman who has had gastric bypass surgery that failed, her body now no longer can do what it was designed to do (right?), she still has diabetes, her hair is almost non existent, among other issues. She says no diet will heal her broken organs (I assume she's referring to her pancreas) which I said that isn't true, you can heal many organs with carnivore. Of course due to her bariatric surgery she now says meat makes her sick, especially beef. Oh, and she posted the other day complaining about her sciatia....specifically that she's lost weight and this isn't supposed to be happening. All I could do was shake my head because it's obvious that she is still full of inflammation which is a huge part of sciatica. Not always of course, but a lot in my own personal experience. But I'm the one who is crazy for being carnivore......ok....

As a bariatric surgery recipient I can say without any hesitation that carnivore is the correct diet. It is very nutrient dense for our little stomachs in order to get the nutrients we need. Anything else is suboptimal.
Thank you Dr. Berry
I participated in many of these "nutritional studies" over the years. I had no way of remembering what I ate and so just went on the averages of the type of meals we ate per week. I had no idea I was contributing to this false data being shared and manipulated to suit their needs. At the time I felt I was doing something good to help the community. How wrong was I. Wish I could have that time back to be used for something better.
Thank you for your honesty and all your great videos. I feel you must get some grief about being so honest? It is greatly appreciated by most us.....thank you ♥️ 🍻✌
Awesome, and thanks for the sound scientific info on the carnivore diet helping the T2D community; rib-eye with a bit of red wine decreases my sugar a lot. Keep going, your approach works.
Great morning Dr Berry 😊
I never seen an obese wild lion, tiger, or any kind of predator.
Thank you so much Dr. Berry for all you do to give hope and wellness to so many.
Been on the carnavor diet since March 16th, I have lost 16 lbs have had bad gut issues for years. I feel great no more inflamation.
Great Great commentary as always. Thank you Doctor
