It only took a moment to Google and find some information. I focused on the US regulations, which state that if transglutaminase is used, the product must be labeled as "formed" or "reformed," and the enzyme must be listed in the ingredients, such as TZ Enzyme or TGP Enzyme. If your goal is to follow a clean, meat-based diet, buying meat with any ingredient other than "meat" should be an obvious red flag. The video also fails to mention that they add this enzyme to tofu, flour, starches, etc. This enzyme info is "new" old information. It was first studied in '59, released in Japan in '89, USA early '90s, UK mid '90s, and Australia late '90s! We're waaayyyyyy too late.

plus.... while "transglutaminases" (plural) sounds scary (even though it doesn't have any of the scary letters - xy or z in it) it is naturally contained in any multi cell organism.... one example being blood clotting factor (that stuff that keeps any animal including us from bleeng to death after a small scratch).... so: do I go for the "glued together steak" when I see it? .... probably not.... am I scared that it is bad for me? .... maybe if I eat tons of it.... but I definitely don't switch to the "vegetarian option" just because there is a slight chance that the restaurant uses off cuts glued with transglutaminasese!

There's an old saying -- "Let the buyer beware." Checking labels is something everyone should do with all products, not just meat or even food in general. For this specific situation you just need to know your meat cuts and then these products stick out like a flashing neon sign.

@@Veganasty You're lost or just oblivious. Data shows that modern agriculture, whether for omnivores or vegans, results in the deaths of Trillions of animals compared to the millions of cattle killed. Claiming moral superiority while contributing to the large-scale harm of animals to produce nutrient-poor products like kale is misleading. It's crucial for farmers to adopt regenerative farming practices that avoid synthetic herbicides and pesticides and move away from grain-finished mass farming. Techniques like rotational grazing, diverse planting, and natural pest control are sustainable. Unfortunately, these methods aren't feasible for a vegan diet, which still relies on the use of 128 million gallons of pesticides (excluding herbicides) annually in the US. This doesn't even address the issues with monocropping. =)
