I attended and the atmosphere during sf6 was electric. Really hope Melty gets more newels soon tho

Every match had me on the edge of my seat, I hope sf6 can keep that up. Melty will get something but Type-Moon get to decide when. Take it as a good sign they let Sion be in uni 2 and make jokes about it. Hell we might get a uni character in lumina if they’re feeling particularly trolly

Man right after Moai won (Arcade legends still got it) and they went "Alright stay tuned everybody for some KoF" I fell to my knees. This is wishful thinking but maybe after red garden comes out they'll make a sequel game with new characters and mechanics since red garden won't be for a while. Edit: I only watched TL and a tidbit of Strive and that top 6 was crazy. Seeing a American Ciel get 3rd was totally unexpected and awesome! Should be noted too that the new GBVS game is going to have a free demo mode with a rotating selection of free characters, online play and the first part of the story mode. Hopefully that gets more eyes on the game.

Yeah no announcement is rough but I’m confident we’ll get something good down the line we just need patience. Ceil is really solid and not really played much so I wasn’t really surprised but a lot of credit goes to the player in this instance. I don’t think GBVS will have issues retaining an audience if the online is good. Also it’s got fall guys so that’ll keep some people around I bet.

I'm jusr glad UNIB is finally getting the netcode it deserves

Yup I hope they learned from lumina and make it even better because while lumina netcode is fine it can definitely be improved

I wanted to see some high level Aoko play. Nobody played Aoko when I was watching the stream :(

No amount of Chipotle shilling could get me to buy their mid food, I don’t care how many street fighter fun bucks I get.

I tuned in for bits and pieces of the stream, honestly I know you stated you don't personally love streaming and you absolutely shouldn't force yourself if you don't want to but I would be down to watch more should you do them. Especially for someone who doesn't stream you did good as far as I'm concerned. I also quite enjoyed MBTL top 6, I tend to play more AACC and dropped TL a while ago due to frustration with the system mechanics as they were but every time I watch TL it makes me want to give the game another chance especially given they patched them to be less braindead than they were a while ago. It is just a really fun game to watch. Also yeah, agreed with you on your points regarding old Guilty Gear versus Strive. On one hand I am glad so many people like Strive and that it got people to check out a series that otherwise many people dismissed in the past, and I really, really wanted to like the game, but I just can't for the life of me enjoy watching or playing it. It got to a point where when I played it, even when I won I was so actively disinterested in the game that I felt no joy. I could go on longer but would feel bad using this comment primarily for Strive dooming so I'll spare you from that lol. I also agree that the ad breaks overall were less intrusive than last year. Last year in particular they genuinely pissed me off, whereas this year I don't recall feeling nearly as much of that.

It's not that I don't love streaming. I just put a lot of thought into the stuff I make so when I stream I want it to be interesting and not phoned in. for Melty and KOF I was into it and had fun. Streaming provides an interesting opportunity where I can work on my on the fly talking and articulation which definitely needs work compared to my scripted stuff so I'd like to give it a real try again very soon (I have ideas!). I'm a MBTL player (I played mbacc for a year b4 lumina) but I can understand the frustration with it compared to current code. I just love the game and I'd say it's worth another shot but it's not without it's faults (I don't like the emphasis on left/right mix ups) keep in mind I'm crazy biased. although I'd love to learn both but the learning curve feels so high in mbacc so I figure why play that when I can play Lumina and kof15 games that are in their prime. But one day my C-Tohno will be nice. I'm glad people like Strive and I'm not going to hate on people for liking something but like I said in the video it simplified so much that it's become nothing like what I fell in love with (as cheesy as that sounds). I don't mind strive dooming, I came to the same conclusion you did and just cut the game out completely and that was for the best. I'm glad I am not the only one who noticed the improvement to the advertisements which were my main gripe about last year. Thanks for commenting and watching like always

Type moon might be waiting for the mahoyo movie for some reason? It comes out this fall i think

That definitely could be the case. I wouldn’t expect anything Mahoyo related, but it would definitely be an opportunity to have type-moon times which almost every character announcement has been at.

I was over the moon for Duo Lon, my favorite FG character ever is back and he looks beautiful, absolute peak the kof top 6 was sooo boring, I can't wait for them to leave jenet and krohnen essentially untouched in the next big patch and we see them again next year.. yippee... (madkofs geese, heidern, and especially clark was pretty great to see though, hype stuff)

The geese pick was the most exciting thing. I don’t really understand SNK balancing they seem very selective who gets nerfed and who gets slaps on the wrist. Vanessa, Ralf, Kula, Gato and Terry were wiped off of the face of the meta while Khronen and jenet reign supreme for a year. What’s even more baffling is characters like rock get caught in the crossfire (which is funny because this dude has been in so many games and he’s always low tier but people are like woohoo rock! And they still nerf him) and others like Billy still struggle. Honestly, I think they need to learn from other developers. I’m not saying they’re the worst but their philosophy definitely needs to be reevaluated.

I got to evo this yr. Most top 6 has the crowd hype up and good atmosphere, despite having mirrors final. Really worried about strive cus most of top 6 was stone faced except when they see a non-top 2 character play (happy chaos and nago). Sf6 is obviously goated for top evo finals in history.

Yeah there’s just something about street fighter that is just inherently exciting

I love Evo, but half of grands we’re mirrors, marvel, melty, tekken, KOF effectively. And Strive grands was not a question, the moment nago made it to grands it was decided so why even watch. I just got bored which is so unfortunate

Balance really is the blame here. umvc3 is a solved game so I’m not really surprised. It was being played optimally and optimally is usually very very boring. I don’t follow tekken, but the series does have a history of bad balance there have even been evos where characters like Bob, Akuma, and Leroy have ruined top 8s. KOF on the other hand, the developers just refuse to Nerf certain characters in a significant way. They really need to reevaluate how they look at the game. Strive is mostly in the same boat but I also think that game has bigger issues because if you’ve noticed strive, doesn’t have a lot of consistency in who wins which is very strange for a competitive fighter. I stopped playing, strive a long time ago, but I figured that after the dominance, happy chaos had he’d get NERFED into the ground like Zato in rev2. It really does seem like chaos. Nago and sol have just been strong for this entire games life

Is KoF15 dead? Player count is abysmal too bruh, i want to buy it but it seems like a bad investment

BlazBlue has a 1/3 of the player base and still has a healthy, active community, I don't see how it's a bad investment

I won’t lie to you. It’ll definitely be hard to find players sometimes. I would not call dead though it’s still getting updates for the time being and the community still supports the game. Your best bet for consistent matches like In street fighter is p to either get some friends to play with you which is very hard or join a discord. Both really are not ideal but that’s just the way it is.

Kof historically has a bigger fan base china, korea, and Latin America. So it is a lot harder for anyone outside of that to get ez matches (especially before they fix the net code bugs). From personal experience, the second word gets out that I am going to Mexico, am getting dms from family and friends to play kof.
