Is Lulu (Lou Reed/Metallica) Really That Bad?
Музыка
In 2011, Metallica and Lou Reed made an album together. The result was one of the most controversial albums in rock history. Today, I'm going to be talking about the musical quality, and I'll try to determine if it really deserved the hate it got.

You gave me the idea to give Lulu a listen again... And after over 10 years of thinking the album was garbage I kinda dig it now! Sure at some points I am literally bursting into laughter :D Dont know if the sometimes comical effect was intentional or not but man its enjoyable af. The whole thing feels like a trip and you feel they had a lot of fun. On a mission to promote Lulu to my friends now. Thanks for bringing it up! Keep up your work

So happy to hear that!
The greatest album ever made, knew I'd love it in the first few seconds of Brandenburg Gate, had never heard a single Lou Reed song before and listened to it as a joke hearing about it expecting to hate it, heard it all in one sitting, unable to leave it, and knew I'd found my favorite album. Love every single song on Lulu and love Junior Dad the most, if I had to pick a favorite song, I can get high off of that song, literally, I feel an actual, physical ecstasy effect listening to it, no other song can do that to me yet. I've since heard every Lou Reed album and Metallica album, Lou Reed/The Velvet Underground is one of my favorite artist(s) now and I liked a lot of Metallica's songs (not nearly as many or as much) but nothing either did comes close. All of Lou Reed's later albums are gold, everything from New York onwards, excluding Hudson River Wind Meditations since it's just a few meditation tracks. Love lulu ❤
such a high quality video and new music for me to listen to, you should be bigger

do you happen to still remember the background song btw?
Love this album . If this had been released in 1969 / 1970 it would be hailed as a cult classic .
i genuinely think that the instrumentals save lulu by a long shot
It's no masterpiece, but it's def not 2/10 or something like that. The experiment did pay off imo.
