Fantastic video, thank you for making it. I’ve owned mine for nearly 5 years now and have driven it all over Europe. I can say it is a brilliant car for a short or long drive. The gearbox is a real treat, but they are rare (once read less than 1% are manual, but not sure if true 🧐)

They are beautiful machines. I have one which is also a cabriolet. I must admit I paid quite the premium to get one....but it is worth every penny of it.

Have to agree totally, I would prefer the DB9 manual over the auto despite today's crowded roads where an auto makes more sense, great review.

I have the privilege of owning a manual DB9 from 2006. In my opinion it’s double the fun compared to driving the automatic version. It’s real driving. The way you can shift gears and play with the engine and its sounds is something else. If you have the choice. Go for the manual version. You will NOT regret it

It's really a No brainer. Most sports/ GT cars are more engaging in manual! Which is why they cost so much more.

I think it really depends on the individual drivers taste, I personally prefer the auto purely because it suits how I drive. I’m an ex mechanic so spent years manually gearing up and down in various cars and my every day car is a manual also, so when I ready to go for a nice relaxed drive I jumped into my DB9 auto and sit back and enjoy

I have my own question for you. With a similar budget (here in Switzerland), PROs and CONs of a 2009 DBS with about 35'000 KMs (auto) on the odometer or a 2013 DB9 or 2012 Virage with 15'000 KMs ? Manual DBS would cost about 15% more, not sure if worth. Especially caring about weekend and some weekly use + depreciation in the future. Thank you very much, your content is extremely valuable.

The 2007 upwards manuals were all specced with the ASTON MARTIN sports pack , making the chassis 63% stiffer , far better than a Blitsein could ever do , they also have upgraded brakes as part of the package . 2006 needed the upgrade , thats why they did it .

This is one downright sexy car. I absolutely adore it. Too bad I can't afford one. Thank you.

What about putting the 7spd manual from the V12 Vantage S into a DB9 GT or phase 2 Vanquish?

OverlandTT if you don’t drive like an absolute hooligan, will last for years. Service cost around 1k, yet I’ve just had to replace the wish bones and handbrake which were very costly. It’s an Aston, don’t expect cheap run cost - expect a fantastic drive though 😁
