Is it time to alter expectations for Caitlin Clark's rookie season?

Ойын-сауық

After Caitlin Clark had a rude awakening in her WNBA debut, in which she had 10 turnovers, can this be attributed to nerves or is the competition just that much better compared to the college game? Is it time to alter expectations for Clark's rookie season? TSN WNBA analyst Tamika Nurse joins SportsCentre to give her thoughts.

I think it’s way too early to be judging her performance or making predictions for the entire year. This was her PRO DEBUT. Anybody in her shoes would be at least a little nervous, it’s a natural human reaction. And the amount of pressure she must be under certainly doesn’t help. What we need to do is give her time, wait for her to settle into her new surroundings, only then we can look at the bigger picture.

Turasi and Swoops tried to prepare her fans but they said NO, Clark is ready made for the league and will school all the players, they didn't know that basketball is more than shooting 3s, without great defense you go nowhere and that's why even in college Clark can have 4 points and her team still ends up losing

@@evp159 her fans are two faced and delusional, she's not performing as the media prepped her up to be and they are now blaming everyone on her team especially the coach, it's not the coach who asked Clark to be a one dimensional player, she has zero defense skills which makes it very easy for players to stripe her off balls, she doesn't know how to shoot long twos so that when defenders take her away from her 3 shooting spots she can easily take those shots, she doesn't know how to take jump shots when she's around the glass, just 3s and lay ups

So now you want to give her time. Nah, keep that same energy of her being the greatest player in the world that is going to dominate the sorry WNBA haters. Keep that energy. She's going to have a long season because everyone saw how Raven Johnson defended her, wore her down and pushed her right. They also saw how she was defended last night. It is not hate. It a truth that you do not want to face but reality is here. Her entire game is is going to have to change because iso plays and hero ball won't work against good defensive teams.
