Is FAR FROM HOME A Great SPIDER-MAN Movie?

Фильм және анимация

#SpiderMan #FarFromHome #MajorSpoilers
It's that time of the year again! A new Spider-Man film is in theatres, and that means we get a repeat of the exact same argument we had the last time a Spider-Man film was in theatres.

I'd say in terms of paralleling scenes, the post credits scene is better where it is - In Homecoming, the villain of the film keeps Peter's identity to protect him, while in Far From Home, the villain of the film reveals his identity to everyone to frame him.

I really really really liked this film. But I know what you mean about Peter's emotional turmoil. I think 1. He should've had more trauma from Infinity War/Endgame. As cool as Zombie Iron Man was, it would've been great if Mysterio's illusions included Peter getting dusted again, showing how terrifying that was for him. This also would've provided a needed contrast between the jokes about the blip and the reality of it. Maybe some twisted flashbacks to the Endgame and/or Titan battle would've helped as well. 2. They touched on it a little but I think what really should've upset Peter wasn't Beck betraying him but the fact that he let down Tony in giving him the glasses. He is obviously still recovering from his death and to add this sudden feeling of failure/guilt on top of all the stress his he is going through would definitely be a fitting breaking point for Peter. It would make his defeat of Mysterio all the more satisfying.

I liked mysterio but I was also kinda disappointed with the mysterio twist. I saw this happening from a mile away. if it had another "layer" or more sinister reveal as with the vulture in homecoming then i thought he would have been great. I also didn't like how he recruited some previous behind the scenes people of other movies and also told us his whole backstory in one really long scene. seemed a bit of lazy writing and too "exposition-y" to me. other than that had no problems, over all tho he was awesome.

I would have if we had spent more time with Beck. My problem with this film is that it wants to get to that Spiderman vs Mysterio so damn fast that it sacrifices everything else. Like literally Beck and Parker have 2 scenes together and then here comes the reveal. I didn't feel connected because the movie wants that fight, it doesn't want to build up to it. In SMPS4, Doc goes rogue after the main villain it's defeated which is almost 70% into the game and we had a lab to interact with him as multiple phone calls to understand him. Beck has none of this. I dunno, i'm disappointed on this film (Though I liked Peter and his arc more in this than in Homecoming).

Spidey is my favorite hero so every new spiderman film I want to be the best one. But Tom Holland's rendition of spidey is so not Peter or spiderman. It's something else completely and it ruins these movies for me. Like jesus dude hide your identity for a fucking second. That's the core of your character no one can know who you are. If they were going to reveal him they should have done it in civil war like the comics. But ni they wasted it on such a blahs moment several times in the last two movies. This movie is the third worst spiderman. ASM 2 spidey 3. Far from home three worst too me. Hope Sony takes him back to square off against venom and carnage.

reverseriot Venom isn’t technically a Spiderman movie at all. I gotta say though u need to re watch Spiderman 2 it’s the only rami trilogy film that’s ages well and it gets the character better than any other film and has an amazing villain and the best action scene in any Spiderman movie...train sequence. Act 1. He has a performance issue and starts losing his powers because he can’t balance his social life, personal life and studies and being Spiderman. Act 2. Peter stops being Spiderman to improve his general life and it works and his life is much better because of it. Act 3. Peter realises he must become Spiderman again to save the city that hates him while he’s Spidey at the expensive of his happiness. Once his mask is removed and he persists to save the ppl on the train and they save him back and not tell anyone he realises that ppl can believe in him which causes him to believe in himself and realise he can be happy and be Spiderman. This causes him to see the good in Doc Ock because he saw the good in others and have the confidence to reveal his identity to MJ without expecting anything back which causes him to earn it.

This is by far my favourite Spiderman movie ever. It was so well written. They show Peter’s side and Mysterio’s side. Peter is trying to go on his vacation, and express his feelings to MJ. But another guy, also likes her. So while he’s with MJ, Peter is forced to be Spider-Man. Mysterio is shown as a good guy who multiversed. He later gets Peter’s glasses “EDITH” which was given to Peter by Tony before he died, and Peter gives them to Mysterio because he believes HE is the next Iron Man. Mysterio was a TERRIFYING yet AWESOME villain. Full of illusions as well as the elementals. When he put Peter in that illusion, and then faked his death to get Peter to tell him words! That was so awesome. My favourite villain. He scares Peter with the “If you were good enough, maybe Tony would still be alive” with silence, was amazing.

One thing I would do differently is discover Mysterio is the villain in a different more subtle way. I would’ve had Peter follow Quentin secretly but realize that it was an illusion to lure him into his grasp, when Spider Man finds out you feel this tension where he sort of snaps and you see Mysterio’s true colors. I would’ve had Peter discover Mysterio is the villain mid way through it, and if Spiderman leaks his plan then Mysterio will also leak his identity so he has to fight alongside a fraud knowing that it’s an illusion throughout the film. And he has to figure out a way to outsmart Mysterio. I would’ve had a line where Mysterio tells Peter “The show must go on” and forcing Peter to be involved in his scheme since he can keep tabs on him at all times during his trip. That would’ve created even more tension in my opinion.

Really wished we had a scene where peter tells mysterio about his uncle Ben and how his death effected him, and told him how he uses the suitcase. That way during the illusion scene we get the *spoiler* Scene where tony comes out the grave and we also could’ve gotten an uncle Ben thing. Maybe you can’t see the face because mysterio doesn’t know what he looks like but maybe a dark figure holding the suitcase saying something like “you’ve let me down Peter” to really hammer in the “lost fatherly figure” thing.

I agree with you so much on that intro presentation. It might be odd for a Spider-Man film, but for me, its probably the best opening scene in the MCU due to sheer hilarity 😂

I mean I think it’s fair to criticize this version of Spider-Man, as long as you aren’t hating on people who do like it.
