I agree with Shady. "Coming for" gives the impression someone is catching up and how can you be catching up when you are adding trophies to your case. If Mahomes did not win and Burrows did then yeah "Coming for him". Pat is coming for Brady, he may never catch him but it is legitimate to say that because the gap is closing. When a gap is expanding then "coming for" is downright insulting.

You plug anyone in that system and they succeed. Chiefs backup went down the field and scored no problem. Eagles and Bengals were the better teams in both games. Sadly due to chiefs popularity the refs had to manipulate the game and give handouts to chiefs

You have Patrick, burrow, allen, lamar, Lawrence, Herbert, if tua stays healthy, rodgers, all in the division currently, almost of which are extremely young and aren’t leaving anytime soon besides rodgers. The afc is a dogfight and will be for a decade, with a current dynasty in the conference, a Super Bowl isn’t guaranteed even for a team as talented as the bengals

It's a rivalry. Prior to the last season AFC Championship, Bengals beat the Chiefs three times including the AFC title game in 2022. Then the Chiefs came back and beat them proceeding to win the SB. If it was still one sideded in Cincy favor then it wouldn't a rivalry but that change after the Chiefs beat them which makes it an official rivalry now. These two teams are in each other's way for AFC Supremency. Similar to Pats and Colts in the early 2000s where Brady was always beating Manning but that matchup was still deemed a rivalry anyway. So this is definitely one.

Mahomes does have have the best TE in the history of the league, he’s a bigger mismatch than even the best WRs in the league give you. I don’t think the WR argument is as strong and people try to make it. That said, Mahomes still clears Burrow though easily.

It’s obviously nice when you have an all pro alongside him, that’s how you end up with 50 TD seasons, but Kelce is and has always been the X factor. Tom sustained success for 20 years with and without Gronk, not saying Mahomes won’t but Brady has unquestionably done more with less on offense from a career perspective. That’s not even a knock on Mahomes, it’s just a fact his whole career has been with the greatest EVER at a position that imo impacts an offense more than any other on the field from a mismatch perspective. Mahomes will finish an all time great, but people gotta chill with the Brady comparisons. This was supposed to be about Burrow, which as I said, Mahomes clears with ease.

Burrow went to the SB with the 17th ranked defense its close enough. mahomes also proved he go carried in the SB. Hurts gave them a free 7 and if it wasn’t for a Punt return to the 5 yd line then maybe he punts or they go for a FG. chiefs got past the bengals and eagles by penalties and or free plays. mahomes has Andy Reid who is the greatest offensive coach in history and kelce and had tyreek for a period of time. Burrow talent wise is not that far behind Mahomes. You can argue all you want about having two #1 WRs but Higgins wasn’t even talked about till last year and wasn’t even mentioned of being a 1 till this last season, and Chase was a rookie. Both of his weapons are very young and barely even in the league and he went to the SB with them. Mahomes had Kelce and tyreek as vets and had a whole year to get chemistry with them.

OF COURSE IT’S A RIVALRY! Since Burrow came into the league, they’ve won 3/4 times. They’ve traded AFC Championship wins with the Chiefs winning the Super Bowl. Chiefs are winning the rivalry, but it IS a rivalry.

Not only that but look at Mahomes WR core last year. He elevated players who for the most part would be 2s and 3s or worse on other teams. The whole off season it was about how he lost his best wr and all this only to turn out an MVP performance and Super Bowl win also WHILE injured!

I don't think Mahomes is who he is without Reid. Reid got McNabb and co to 5 straight NFC title games and always had a top 5 offense with different looks. Reid has also had a lot of success developing Qbs. Now do I think Mahomes wouldn't of been successful? No, that's crazy talk. Mahomes is clearly talented. I think any talented QB is going to get better with Reid. We've seen McNabb, Smith, and Mahomes all excel under Reid.

Yes, it’s a rivalry! At the end of the day, Chiefs have beat the Bengals 1/4 times they’ve played. Prior to the AFC Championship game, they said it wasn’t a rivalry because the Bengals ALWAYS won. Now it’s not a rivalry because the Chiefs have 2 Super Bowl rings even though Burrow wasn’t even in the league the first one?? 😂 The media is very forgetful and ride whatever bandwagon is most current. Maybe if Joy were here the conversation would be more balanced or insightful. Let’s not forget the Chiefs barely won that last game that came down to a very controversial call. Also, why mention Burrow’s offensive help if you’re not going to mention that Mahomes throughout his career has had far more advantages. HOF Head coach/best offensive mind in the league (unlike Burrow). Wasn’t thrown to the wolves and got mentorship from a veteran QB his first season in the NFL. (Unlike Burrow). Weapons like Tyreek Hill (top WR) and Travis Kelce (best TE). (Similar to Burrow’s WR core) Didn’t win a ring until he had a great offensive line (which Joe Burrow has yet to have). Defensively, his team has talents like Chris Jones and Frank Clark. If you want to play that game, play it fair and impartially!! Stop the double standards. Mahomes doesn’t need them.

Because last year across the board nearly every position other than QB & TE the Bengals had the better players….. & lost… & got out performed.. while mahomes was limping/hurt. I mean that pretty much ended it for me & most.

My god dude do you think the Bengals are the only team that knows how to draft? Give props to John Dorsey and Brett Veach for stockpiling talent for years. I mean Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce were already good players but they morphed into superstars with Mahomes. They draft really good offensive line. They added some in free agency. They drafted Chris Jones. They signed Frank Clark. Chiefs have done an outstanding job of drafting talent.

The past 5 years have shown us, we can put Patrick Mahomes into his own category. There is no other QB that is his equal. There is no other QB you can make a case for being better than him. What you can do, is have discussions about 2, 3, 4, 5 and on down the line. You can say with confidence Burrow is #2 and you'd be exactly right. You can then debate about Josh Allen, and Trevor Lawrence, and Jalen Hurts and who should be 3, 4,5 etc. But it is beyond disupute that Mahomes is #1. End of story.

Of all the games that they’ve played against each other only 2 of them have actually mattered and they’re 1-1 in those. If we’re talking about championships, 5 straight AFC appearances, 3 AFC championships, and 2 SBs versus 1 AFC championship appearance, 1 AFC championship and 0 SBs is not a rivalry imo 😂 But, I think it has the potential to get there, the Bengals are a great team. Unfortunately, their division is getting better and isn’t as injured as they were before so that could create an obstacle for themZ Whereas the Chiefs really only have the Chargers to worry about.
