Yea but the Bengals did have a way tougher schedule this year and they have almost beat every team in the afc hunt. I think mahomes burrow and Allen are #1 in their own respective categories in how they play their game. Mahomes is #1 for now, but I think in the near future the tides are going to turn. Boyd has been in the league for 6 years, if he were a pro bowler he'd have made at least one pro bowl appearance in that time lol. Higgins is good and Chase is extremely good. But Burrow also has already shown he can do well without Chase, so the idea that he's relying on an insane receiving core to do well is pretty out-there. Burrow's good, and Mahomes is good, I don't think it's as clearcut as you make it out to be.

Rodgers included, and he was the most talented QB by far before Mahomes came in. But Patty actually has done something that I didn't know was possible he actually has learned how to use the football like a baseball. So his throws are actually unbelievable, because there is no WAY he should be able to do them. It should be impossible. But he does it, literally almost every week. This dude can't be touched.

Chiefs fan but I admire Burrow's cool head and toughness under duress. He is very accurate, even with pressures and sacks. Mahomes makes some unbelievable plays that only a few QBs can make. Mahomes and the offense need to be more consistent in playoff games. Sometimes the offense disappears for an entire half (AFCCG against the Patriots, SB against the Niners, against the Texans down 24-0, and against Cincy up big at halftime and basically nothing in the 2nd half. Bengals are the better overall team. Their defense is very good

Burrow had played tougher teams and better defenses than the Chiefs and Mahomes has had the chance to have the Texans, Jaguars, Cardinals, Colts, Rams, and 2 games against the Raiders, Broncos, and Seattle. Weigh the stats against the defenses and teams and Mahomes stat advantage doesn't look so tough or large enough to justify the hype. Patrick Mahomes is a awesome quarterback no doubt but Burrow is playing MVP caliber football and playing the leagues divisional leaders every week and even touched up the Chiefs and outplayed Mahomes for the third time in 2022.

The Broncos have had a top 5 defense all year. Bucs had a top 10 defense. 49ers had the #1 defense in the league and Mahomes put 44 on them. Chiefs have also faced all the AFC division leaders, plus the 49ers, plus the Chargers are a playoff team and got swept. Plus the Jags are in the hunt and the Chiefs handled them too. Mahomes has better numbers than Burrow and more wins without Tyreek Hill and without a good defense. The MVP race is not even close at this point.

Very true. But be real, it’s Mahomes through and through. Burrow isn’t throwing to Juju and Christian Watson. Kelce is only one guy. Higgins and Boyd are both two of the best #2 receivers in the league. Pair Mahomes with Higgins and Boyd and he’d have 5500 yards by week 12

Skip spent 10 minutes discrediting Mahomes and giving excuses for literally anyone else.

Mahomes is in the #1 spot and it’s not an argument. The numbers alone prove it. This season and over the course of the last 2 seasons. Mahomes has also been the only constant in any MVP conversation since he’s become a starter. None of the other 3 guys can say that. The list of reasons is truly too long to explain why Mahomes is above the other 3. The other 3 guys are incredible and I really don’t wanna take anything away from them, but the only answer to this question is Patrick Mahomes

Mahomes is the clear cut #1, but #2 Is Between Lamar, Allen, Burrow, and Herbert is behind all those guys.

Haha that's weak compared to Herbert, he's faced fractured ribs, literally his whole offense being out most of the year, his oc being horrible as always, and has been able to lead his team to the playoffs. Burrow still had Higgins and Boyd, and Mixon, and his o line has been playing really good, not to mention bengals defense has been top 10 thos year.

Burrow is also the smartest QB of the four, he knows how to exploit mismatches and read defenses better. Mahomes, Allen and Herbert shine through their athleticism when plays extend or breakdown

It seems like pass catching players never get their flowers in the mvp race since when people look at yards and receptions, you always link thr QB to the receivers. Kelce is just suffering from the fact his position isn't as vital as Pat's. I agree with u that position for position, Kelce is as good as anyone in the league this year and has been for years now !

Lazy people are always talking about how the Chiefs were "winners" before Mahomes but none of them know the details. Andy had 1 playoff win in 5 years before Mahomes. They were a 10-6 team that lost in the wildcard round to Marcus Mariota and the Titans the year before Mahomes became the starter.

The 2004 Eagles were a dominant team. If TO doesnt get hurt, rhey win the SB and are remembered as a historically dominant team. Adjusting for statistical inflation, that 04 Eagles team was as dominant as any team that Reid/Mahomes have had in KC. This idea that Burrow is a "safer" player than Mahomes is a weird one. This season Burrow Picks: 12 Mahomes: 11 Burrows interceptions for his career in nearly 3 seasons and 41 games total played: 31 interceptions Patrick Mahomes in 50 games played in the last 3 seasons: 30 interceptions So I don't get it. Mahomes has played 9 more games and has 1 less interception but somehow Burrow is seen as less of a gunslinger than Mahomes?
