I love Brazil and have been trying to learn Brazilian Portuguese for a while. All shortcuts have been most welcome. Crossfitchee, Tikee Tokee, Chocolatchee, ketchupee, this pattern keeps going My favorite Brazilian band name is Natiruts, a Grammy-nominated Reggae group meaning natural roots and pronounced: natchee-hootchees

Brazilians don't have many moral qualms about adopting words from other languages even when there is a perfectly acceptable substitute in portuguese... English being the main one since Post World War 2 (before that, we were busy cannibalizing French language, which also comes from Latin). Words in Portuguese do not end in consonants, hence the addition of the "ee" sound. If you're really interested in learning Portuguese, good luck with all the verb conjugations...

I was learning Portugues for about 8 months and then went to visit my girl for 10 days. Lived with her and her family and noone spoke anything other than portugues. Was hard but I also figured that one out. With internet(ee), Chipee (sim card) and much more.

Yes! I dated a Brazilian woman who didn’t speak English super well and whenever she was unsure of a word she’d pause a moment, then say it with an ‘EE’ sound at the end. It was very endearing.

In Portuguese, the majority of words end with a vowel, making it difficult for us to pronounce words without a final vowel sound. This is the reason why when we speak English, we often add a vowel sound to the end of words.

While we do have a bunch of loan words, most of them is just a case of borrowing from Latin, like "atitude".
