You're doing a fantastic job presenting heather, both of you are brilliant. Congratulations!!
Super cool video! These videos where you get to see what things are actually like rather than a polished version are really interesting, thanks Heather!

Best video so far, Heather get some rest and go smash it on race day !!
Nice to see Heather got sorted with a P5X as well ! Good luck out there, will try to spot you on the live broadcast :)
Please win the race for GTN 💪🏻
Love it! 😁😎
Swim, bike or run... which do you think will be the most important to the result on race day?

Always the run ..... you hang on on the bike, and then its all about the run. Ala what Rinny has done, chased them down in the run leg BTW - great video GTN team. I was in Kona in March - stayed right in the middle of it for a week. Watching this video bought back so many memories, its like I'm right back there again. Best of fortune and race conditions on Saturday. Have a great day. Enjoy it ..... there are many many people, like me, who can only dream about being so lucky to get to Kona to race one day.

#TriathlonNewbie For my 1st IM 70.3 I naturally chose IM Honu and it was an ugly bare-knuckle boxing match! I still have the scars to prove it! It's a different course (45 min. north of Kona) but it shares the same bike course as the IM WC and the climb to Hawi was never-ending! The rollers are not ominous to the untrained eye but they are never-ending! After battling the ride the run was by far the toughest since the heat was nice and settled. It's a mental battle from start to finish. Good luck Heather! We believe in you!
Good luck, Heather!
Welcome to our training ground. I'm you picked a cool day to lay down on the asphalt. On sunny days it gets up to 105-110 F (40-44 C), as measured by a Garmin that was on the ground when I changed a tire. The turn off the Queen K is the entrance to the Energy Lab. In the afternoon, the reason for the zapping is the breeze is tailwind when you turn around and climb back up. So you are running in still air. It's done me in more than once.
Heather - Good Luck tomorrow. Will be watching
Go for the win :)
Wah she looks so dope in 2:54 probably could be my wallpaper. Heather you are rocking. I'm so liking triathlon but I feel that running would be the worst bit for me

3.8km not miles :)

The UK didn't leave Europe, just the EU, and plenty of non-European countries use metric anyhow, as do other European non-EU countries like Switzerland. It's an easy mistake to make because they listed the distance in km in the video (to make it easy for all the people who don't understand what a mile is) even though the race is based in miles - 2.4mi swim, 112mi bike, 26.2mi run.

My mistake, I meant kilometres as you've realised.

Heather Fell course you did, never in doubt :) looking forward to seeing how you get on at Kona - your last vlog was great?
As the heat of the day goes on the tire pressure will increase as heat increases. Might be possible to run lower pressure in the start then use the heat

It's actually not a huge affect. When using an absolute temperature scale, the percent change in temperature is not that huge (only about 3%), which would correspond to maybe 3 psi on clinchers, which is within the error range of most pumps.
Heather, good job - consider a sports sunglasses sponsor - maybe Roka?
I've often wondered, is there security in the bike transition area? The majority of those bikes are worth over $10k and the cheapest ones probably around $5k. How do you tell if someone is really taking THEIR bike? I'd hate to train for months, come out of the water to find out that my $10k bike is nowhere to be found. Has this ever happened?
Thanks so much for this! Good luck tomorrow!!! Let us know how we can follow you, what's your BIB # Heather?

I consider triathlon to be at rather small sport. Is there money worth mentioning in it? say for the top 20 atheletes.

If you are in the top 20 you can make a decent living...
Great, Informative video, A few points; The swim is the busiest IM swim in the world as most athletes are qualifiers and can all swim very well so there 1500 people or so who can do this in around 1:30 or much less. The bike course takes place on the road-not on the safety lane which you were riding on. You do not mention that. The run is uphill or rolling from the top of Palani to the Energy lab turn, so slightly downhill on the way back to town- last 10 k’s. Finish -Hooray. You said that Hawaii is “one of” the most Iconic races in relation to the Ironman it is THE most iconic race. As for toughest, due the intensity of the competition and the attendant conditions I believe that it is THE toughest of Ironman races. Mahalo

Looks like such a boring course given how famous the race is. Everything is pretty much just out and back.
I'm actually amazed that someone came up with a jersey design that ugly
