Yeah those were chaos marines. The iron warriors are a traitor legion. The guard thought they were summoning reinforcements. They were actually summoning their doom. If you see a marine with lots of spikes on their armor or tusks on their terminator helmets, they're usually gonna be chaos marines.

It’s worth noting that information about Chaos is heavily suppressed. The VAST majority of ordinary human citizens, including most kinds of guardsmen, don’t know about the Chaos Gods or Daemons. They do acknowledge that heretics and mutants exist, though, so such things can be persecuted. Furthermore, most humans go their entire lives without ever even seeing a Space Marine. So it’s possible for guardsmen regiments to not even be aware of the existence of Chaos Space Marines.

Admittedly people not knowing might be a bit outdated info with the Great Rift opening because you know Chaos was everywhere and with the cat out of the bag now even the Ordo Malleus isn't putting as much effort towards suppression since more can be recruited to fight.

There are even Guard regiments that aren't even sure if Space Marines are real, let alone traitor Space Marines. Space Marines/Chaos Space Marines are to Imperials as angels and demons are to us. Yeah, they're talked about in the bible. A lot of people believe they're real. But the events of Satan being cast out of Paradise and his rebellion against God happened thousands (if not millions or even billions) of years ago. Like imagine if a bunch of demons showed up one day during a random conflict. There'd be all kinds of speculation. Are they aliens? Are they vampires? Who knows?

Iron Warriors. IVth legion. Status: Excommunicate traitorus (Traitor legion). The Iron legion, led by the primarch Perturabo of Olympia, is the dedicated legion of siege breaking tactics. During the emperor's great crusade, the Iron warriors were one of eight legions who joined Horus in betraying the Imperium. The Iron Warriors' methods and tactics are slow, methodical, efficient. Being a largely atheist side of the chaos factions, mutated limbs are removed and replaced with bionic parts and cybernetic implants, while sticking to a largely standard repertoire of stolen Imperial armaments and armor. The battlecry of the Iron warriors is "Iron within, Iron without", emphasizing the emotionless nature of the legion and the willingness to weather any circumstances for victory.

The iron warriors are all about brutal effeciency. And they are probably some of the least chaos corrupted of the traitor space marines so its not so easy to tell right away if they are traitors or loyalists.

to clarify, those are iron warriors, they are traitors, my favorite of the traitors

10:17 the space marine kills the guardsman because he signs the imperial aquilla, the sign of the emperor, and the space marines turned against the emperor.

This animation was pretty decent. I liked the character design, especially the shiny Dark Eldar armor. What I didn't like were A) the sounds; and B) Dark Eldar movement and weapons. "Astartes" has become the gold standard and you'd think with GW acquiring it, they'd use some of the audio. The bolters sound amazing there. Here, they're really "pew pew pew!" Lasguns also tend to make a cracking noise, similar to a bullwhip, as the air combusts around the barrel as it fires. Here, they went with vanilla sci-fi laser sounds. The Dark Eldar jetbikes looked awesome, but they're supposed to be really fast. Eldar are already blurs of motion and color when moving on foot, so their bikes are even faster. The Eldar on foot we see are also a bit sluggish. They're described as having movements resembling humans, but being completely alien in speed and mannerisms. I think the Exodite trailer showing Eldar running by was a good depiction of their movement. Lastly, the Splinter weaponry. So Eldar small arms use crystals as ammo. Their guns shave off little bits, then send them hurling at high speeds towards their enemies. This is essentially like being shot by a sandblaster, except it's tiny slivers of crystal that shreds through bone and flesh. The main versions of this technology are the Shuriken Catapult (used by Craftworld Eldar) and Splinter Rifle (used by Dark Eldar). The bikes and infantry are all armed with Splinter Rifles and Splinter Cannons. However, they're shown here to be just another type of laser with laser sounds. The ending of Astartes previewed some type of Eldar gun as you can see the Predator tank get hit with blue shards. Those are rounds likely from a Shuriken Catapult and we should have seen something similarly used here with the Dark Eldar.

Later in the video, you learn that the reason the Iron Warrior warband answered the call was because the world used to be one of their recruitment worlds when they were loyal. The reason they started killing the people was because the Imperium has weakened the planet, and they hate it.

Iron warrior are one word: Terror

D.Eldar looked slow as fuck, to be honest...

That's really crazy. When I sent you the link it was the whole thing. It looks like they have to trim out for copyright. Yeah, there's a lot more to this. There is a version of it up on counterpoints 30K channel though it is his reaction to it.

I have an almost fanatical hatred of Dark Eldar. Everytime they show up they're gloating about how GREAT their race is, when they're all just as in danger as everyone else.

To be fair, they are the least Chaosy of the Traitor Legions. They are more Renegade rather than Chaos. They use Chaos as a tool for their goals, but they don't believe in Chaos. They essentially haven't fallen to Chaos if that makes sense. Plus their Armour doesn't give off much of a Chaos vibe, unlike the other Traitor Legions.
