  Also, to add to this comment, but Spartans are spec ops, just as strong and all have ai ports allowing them to be kitted with special equipment such as bubble shields and other stuff. There were about 75 spartan 2s which in most ways were superior if only barely to full fledged space Marines vs the 3s who were about what you'd expect of a new space Marines who just got their full augments. They were fighting the covenant, who's species include the elites who are as strong if not stronger than Spartans and space Marines, almost as tactically skilled as any space Marines, and just as fast. The second race to note are the brutes, who are outright stronger and faster than any space Marines and spartan, just less prone to intelligence though they are fully capable of being as smart if they sit down and dedicate themselves to being so. The third one is the hunters, a Race of worms almost unable to be fully killed who can form together to become leviathan monsters or, more typically, a smaller pair of behemoths that could easily rip necrons to pieces and could straight throw tanks because f you and the neck you rode in on. Unlike the space Marines who would only number in the hundreds per battle, thousand plus per chapter and roughly thousand plus of those chapters, these species number in the billions, let that sink in. The Spartans were fighting monsters on par if not better than space Marines in the thousands per campaign, sometimes battle, cause they were entire species numbering in the billions, the hunter worms easily trillions. So.... Yeah no Spartans are ok and actively only survived the covenant cause plot and the subsequent armor that comes with it.

  There is a video that hint the Emperor lead a war against the tyranids during the early days of the great crusade. One of the older titans was examined by the mechanicus in M41 learned the battle damage was from tyranid weapons.

  Custodians and Harlequins are near equal, and are faction equivalents. Protectors of a library of all their species knowledge and their God. vs Genetic slaves protecting their creator and all of humanity's fast travel system.

  The Schola Progenium is a part of the Imperium administration responsible for creating elite forces in the Imperium such as Sisters of battle, Commissars, Tempestus Scions, and more. Imagine an orphan school mixed with military camp and extreme religious institutions, as for the story it is true, the schola have Drill Abbot who enforce discipline on these kids, and how they do it you may ask? By hitting the child with a big hammer so hard the kid's spine flying out of his body and putting it as a display for rebels, which let me remind you these kids are 6 to 10 years old. Sometimes the Imperium can be worst than chaos.

  Spartans are basically the same as a space marine just less durable and no magic but in return spartans a more flexable/agile and more adaptible (arguably faster too)

  You accidentally cause and are responsible for the opening of a rift where aliens from Xen momentarily transport to Earth in Half-Life 1. Those creepy crawly spiders are headcrabs, they latch onto you and keep you alive while using your body as a breeding ground and new form of attacking people, they are from Xen. There are other weird monsters in Xen, the weirdest being G-Man.

  Despite the memes of the Guard they are really an important part of the Imperium. Their performance on the battle can sometimes be beat space marines, not that marines aren't good tacticians but the Guardsmen excel more than them because they don't do the whole thing of throwing everything at their enemies they do it in a smart way, because you know they use tactics and military strategy. And what I love most about them is that most Imperial Guard especially the sensible ones are not that crazy zealots who burn everything or cold hearted warriors who only care for victory, they only fight for what they believe right for the safety of their planet and their families.

  If I remember right there are entire planets who's only value to the imperium is that they supply soldiers and everyone on that planet within the right age and requirements is forced to join. And after training they could either stay in the military and go work in the factories to make more weapons and equipment for their soldiers. In other places you just walk up to the friendly neighborhood recruitment office and join up .

  What grinds my gears about the faction thing is that, rather than wasting time creating space marine or imperium factions, GW could add more interesting factions to the table, especially with the vastness of 40k they can get creative with their designs. Like could you imagine if the Rangdan Xenos returned, or a faction of Xeno alliances who hate the Imperium after their worlds destroyed by the Imperium during the crusade.

  The Leagues of Votann were considered Squats and Demiurg Abhuman offshoots for humanity and eaten by Nids but now brought back as a full faction that's a bunch of Space Dwarfs like Eldar are Space Elves. Just consider Warhammer Fantasy Dwarfs in 40k and this video it depicts League scavengers searching through Imperial spacehulks lost in space and hacking their way in.

  Could be worse 🤷‍♂️😂😂😂 A necrom gauss flayer simply deconstructs its target on the molecular level leaving nothing but a pile of ash and corpses and the best example would be the last 40K trailer where a single guardsman was hit in the face by a gauss flayer beam. Bolters would result in it’s targets being blown up from the inside out. Lasguns would simply flash boil the target where if a lasbolt hits unprotected flesh, the blood and bodily fluids would vaporize in a nano second and would result in gasification which would then simply result in an explosion of the body Eldar shurikans are mono molecule thin disks which would slice their opponent into shreds Tyranids are mostly maggots or acid base And being hit by a weaponized chainsaw isn’t ideal either

  So for the unaware or tendered stomachs, imagine being shot at by a tennis sized ball tablet full of tape worms, however unlike tape worms the devourer maggots are much much much more aggressive and violent compared to a tape worm and you get the idea of what it’s like to be shot at by a devourer round as the small beetles acidic blood starts to cause third degree burns to your insides as the maggots wriggle and crawl eating you from the inside out, until eventually they reach your brain or you are released by the sweet sweet embrace of a lasbolt to your head.

  If you’ve ever seen an anime or read any manga, the best way to describe the effects would be similar to when a samurai slices their opponents into pieces or the typical trope of a hot shook girl’s clothes being shredded into pieces, now imagine that but instead the girls clothes disappearing the girl to also disappears only to be replaced by a cloud of blood and you get the gist of what happens when you get hit by a doom weaver

  The torsion cannon is basically a weaponized tractorbeam ie the thing used to lock onto starships in space and bring them in closer, it’s a similar concept but on a much smaller scale 😂😂

Trench Crusade is an upcoming tabletop skirmish game that is being created by one of the old creators of Warhammer Fantasy’s skirmish game. Trench Crusade is set in an alternate history of Earth, where massive religious orders (the Catholics and Muslims primarily) have been fighting an ongoing war against Hell for over 800 years. And it is fucking awesome. I need to see more people reacting to scannerbarkly’s videos on it. He’s been releasing new lore and even some of his own custom content as Trench Crusade continues to be developed. I can’t begin to describe how refreshing it is to see actual Muslims kick so much ass in a grimdark setting like this.

  The War of the Beast is a wild era after the Horus Heresy where the Orks under the Beast directly threatened Holy Terra with attack moons, developing so much that the Orks of the time grew smart enough to conduct diplomacy with the Imperium which is obviously rejected. Vulkan sacrificed himself to kill the Beast only to for it to be revealed that the Beast is just 1 out of 6 Prime Orks that the Imperium only managed to defeat by having their Waaagh energy have an explosive chain reaction with all the invading Greenskins.
