Watching Strongman since a few month now. The thing that's so unique about it is how only a very select group of people is able to even TRY to lift this class of weights. And in wich they themselves battle eachother but also encourage eachother to do better. You don't see that in most sports.

I only realised how massive he is when I saw his video with Paddy the other day, I have met paddy in the flesh and he is a tall big bloke, far taller than me and about the same build, Eddie dwavers him and makes him look like child, and given how much trimmer Eddie is now he must have been a monster for this record

Lets face it - Eddie is a fat fucking disgrace who if competing today would still be amoung the 3 heaviest guys in terms of bodyweight. Yet wouldnt be able to secure a top 10 finish in any top-tier show. Sad reality.

bodybuildingdaily he uses drugs and has been using them from a young age every strongman competitor was/is juiced up to some extent.
I love his enthusiasm and determination. “I will definitely be worlds strongest man one day” pretty much what eddie hall said once and he ended up winning

Eddie wasn't even using leg drive. So impressive this guys power. With leg drive he could hav easliy done 220kg

Though I don't do strongmen style training, as far as I know the difficult part of the axle press is getting the weight up to the shoulder press position. Eddie could easily strict press more than 216kg back then. Incorporating leg drive wouldn't have mattered. (And honestly it looks way more badass. Strict pressing that much weight is incredibly insane)

Biby will get this record someday and I think Eddie Hall will be one of the first to congratulate him. I hope he spends this lockdown really getting those lifts he's missing locked down so we can see him on the podium at WSM, the guy always looks so cheerful and happy with himself when he makes a lift, I love it.
My back is hurting just watching this
his shoulders are so insanely broad that it makes him look about 5'9 - 5'10 but he's 6'2

Iron Biby bends his back so much, it always makes me nervous seeing him do his lift. I'm afraid his back will go out one of these days on this lift and he'll fall straight back with that weight. I hope this doesn't happen, I want to see him succeed.
Eddie Hall is an absolute monster. He really wanted that record to be broken but, deep down he had to feel a little proud seeing how hard it was for iron biby trying it

It's because Bibby feels like a more genuine character and Eddie cannot really hate the man (Bibby). I like him he projects humility, yet showboating come natural to him and he is very competitive.

@@joemfahey Not in static strength. Like Martins, Mateuz has great athleticism that accompanies his strength. He is now 25 turning 26, he is pulling 400kg with a hitch so id doubt hes hitting 501kg anytime soon. Who knows on shoulders though, he has pressed a 200kg axle albeit with leg drive vs Eddies strict press.

Eddie had awesome technique as a presser, as well as strength.
Eddie got that lift with ease and no leg drive whatsoever. Wonder what he could of done all out? Really is the beast! Also. Eddies mental strength was unreal.

I wonder why they don't just clean the weight like olympic lifters when doing clean and jerk. Would seem to be much easier than what they do

@@xXAlmdudlerXx It's a much thicker bar than your standard Olympic bar. A normal clean is not possible at that weight. The bar would slip from your hands.

xXAlmdudlerXx they clean it continentally also the weight is fixed on the bar it doesn’t swivel on the sleeves like normal bar you can’t just clean it from the floor and let crash on your front delts you’d lose balance
