Most of our games are against top tier teams. I would love to see a situation where we play the likes of Portugal, Georgia, Uruguay far more often, Portugal in particular for me were a revelation in the WC.

100% agree with you as a Springbok fan I absolutely was terrified of Ireland last year. Then they beat us again at a rugby world cup match. I saw how much their fans bought into their team. I respect and admire the Irish rugby team. We take a lot about teams we respect and admire here in South Africa, just watch how we will shift our attention to New Zealand when the All Blacks are in town 😊

We are, just sadly did not expect them to turn up, their heads and form have been way off since the World Cup, but we are very proud of them and even out of form, they gave it 110% for 80 minutes. Sadly it cost a lot of injuries, but hope they will be able to do the same on Saturday and make it a good test.

As an Irish fan I think the first test was amazing rugby and I believe Ireland brings out the best of the Boks. That said that score could have been so different had things bounced Irelands way as rugby is as much psychological as physical. Fair play SA though but I am hopeful...despite the injuries that we get the run of the green, play well and anything can happen 🙏

You could almost feel the shift when the Lowe try was scored to then being chalked off. Went from a “hang on, we can win this” to a wake up call for SA. The 10 or so minutes following that were big. They go down the field, miss a penalty, then Casey is injured, then Lowe has his ball in touch/not in touch moment for Kolbe to score. Big psychological swing for sure. We did well to stay in it with Murray’s great try, but we can’t underestimate the impact of those 10 or so minutes. 13-13(maybe 15 if Crowley gets the 2) instead you’re looking at 20-8. The positive for me is we stuck with it, but it’s such fine margins

Quite true Appollo9000. Some games you get the rub of the green, sometimes you don't. We got it on Saturday. But as a former SA ref, (Jaco Peyper) now part of the Boks training squad, has stated that, all the decisions that went against Ireland were correct and he's not being biased. On another day, another ref they could have gone Ireland's way. Nevertheless we respect Ireland greatly. Personally I think the injuries that Ireland have suffered will impact them negatively and I believe the Boks will capitalize on that. Lets hope we have a great game and the best team wins.

It's an incredible song, and it's about rejecting violence and anamosity by searching internally hence the in your head line, SA fans should enjoy the song but they should also understand it. It's about humility not aggression. SA fans in world cup thought we were calling them zombies, that's just totally incorrect and the use of rasie being in our heads is just silly and does not wind us up as we know the song and it's about how we should all be humble, something the doctor is not

I'm in Salt Rock just on the other side of Ballito. Do yourself a favour Tim! When in Ballito drive down to the sea (there's pretty much only one road) and go to Thompsons beach. It's literally in Ballito within 2km of the main beach. It's a MUST SEE for you in Ballito. There is what was an old whaling station within walking distance on your left (towards Salt Rock) where there is the only version of a "castle" I saw when growing up. The old lookout tower you can walk up to. It has stone bridges you can walk over, like a moat.. and anyone from the public can dive into swim in a carved out giant rock pool like a giant swimming pool. The water is crystal clear and you will even see some of our local tropical fish like angel fish and parrot fish. It's fed by waves so always clean. On your right, (at actual Thompsons beach) is another rock carved olympic sized tidal pool. This one is arguably the cleanest the waves break right onto the pool. People go there to train swimming lengths. Theres changing rooms. Then if you carried on past it heading south there is a walking trail that goes immediately through a sort of hole cut through the rock you walk through. Or a beautiful rock formation. Depending on the tides you scale the sides of rocks (anyone can do it not difficult) and get into a next bay. Very rocky and scenic you get a great view of Ballito from the top of the next hill. If you're feeling up for it then promenade starts around there.. You can walk on great paved walkway all the way to Hops (a well known pub) just past Ballito Main beach. I believe that is Willard beach. Even if you started at Hops and walked the promenade it's beautiful. But Thompsons and that "castle" enlightened my imagination as a kid, hope you get to see it. ;)

My other favourite beaches are Scottburgh/Pennington, and St Lucia/ Cape Vidal.

I don't really care if South Africa fans sing Zombie or not but before they do they need to remember where Zombie comes from, a dark week in 1988 in the history of both Ireland and in fact the UK too.....Yes it's funny and I bet Rassie don't know either, there's also the upsetting death of Anthony Foley and Dolores O Roirdain thrown in too ..Ireland will be really up for it on Saturday in Durban, there are missing men ,in a small party of Irish Rugby players, some new blood might turn up I would pick Nathan Doak at 9 actually he brings a totally different threat from his cannon of a boot and he's an 80% long range goalkicker

As an Irish fan, I think some of the negativity mainly might come from some of our players being in below average form for the provinces. Some big disappointment for Munster and Leinster and then missing a few guys like Hansen, JGP, and Keenan as well, just probably meant a lot of us didn't realistically expect to win, given how good South Africa are. It's amazing experience and we should thank south africa first and foremost for hosting us and getting to play in their backyard. Can you imagine what this means to a player like Jamie Osborne who earned his first cap in frickin Pretoria!!! As an Irish fan, I’m finding it hard to get up for the games (don’t get me wrong I’m loving it so far), but it’s not showing on the telly here in Ireland (it’s behind a pay wall, they’re prioritising the euros which we’re not even in over this which we’re one of the best in the world at) so just getting written updates just isn’t as enthralling. It’s a real pity, but loving the videos Tim. They really are a bright spot in my day and do boost my excitement for the games even more🙌

Hi Tim, big fan of your work! Not going to lie, very envious of your travels and the phenomenal opportunities you’re able to enjoy and partake in South Africa! You’ve more than earned it. As an Irish fan, I think this series is a needed challenge. It tests our depth, provides opportunities for other players (Jamie Osbourne at fullback played pretty well especially for his debut and in a very difficult venue) to prove themselves a few years out of the next World Cup. While we weren’t as efficient or as accurate as hoped last weekend, I wouldn’t doubt the coaching ticket who turned Ireland around after a first test loss against New Zealand two years ago. At the very least, what a fantastic opportunity for Ireland to play against the world’s best team away from home. As you said, it should give us confidence and should help the team going forward. If the lads win this Saturday, I’d say that’s a phenomenal outcome. Wishing the lads well, hope it’s a quality and clean match, and hope you continue to enjoy yourself.

I think these teams bring out the best in each other. Ireland were off, and yet but for the bounce of a ball and a few 50/50 calls we could have won. Seems to be a theme for Ireland lately (and Leinster) so as a fan of both it’s been a few long years 😂 I never thought we’d win in Loftus. Too much at stake for SA, it was almost a must win. Can’t call this weekend. We are definitely missing JGP and Keenan. Conan off the bench could have been big. From an Irish perspective, I want to see us continue to build to 2027. The wins in between WCs are great, but man I’d love a decent WC run! I’d happily lose a series 2-0 to the back to back world champs. No shame in it. Provided we use it as a platform to build towards 2027.

Spingbok supporters werent complainig about it being the end of a long season, playing in european conditions in front of a home croud when the Irish won in nov '22. We took our L and focused on preparing for '23 WC. The Springboks, even when they are at their best, still lose games. We are fine with that as long as our boys fought till the end. Youre not going to win them all, thats the beauty of having the top 6 teams so close to each other at the moment. But certain people will always find a reason for why their team lost ( yes including a minority of Springbok supporters too) On the Zombie song, we wouldnt have had our own version of it if it wasnt for the Irish supporters in the paris WC game. So thank you for that 😉, i get the feeling that both teams are going to be singing it when ever they win. Hopfully it turns into a bit of a friendly rivalry victory anthem

We're off our potential best and its more than just sliding doors moments in games when you are consistently losing when it matters

@@africanmamba1021 hey, I was using the examples above to show that there was not much in it and the difference was Lowe keeping the ball in play and gifting SA a try which was the difference on the scoreboard at the end. You have to take stock of that too.

I really enjoyed that. I was in Paris for the Irish loss and the singing of Zombie at the end was unbelievable. To hear it the other way is equally fun. From travelling the world the Irish and the South African's are the most alike - more than any other nations and maybe that is why there is such healthy banter. May the best team win and may the TMO not get involved! Good luck to everyone!

I wouldn't pay too much attention to social media comments from Irish "Fans" always the loud, obnoxious minority or else blow-in supporters who don't understand rugby ethics. Most of us are loving the "series", I would've preferred 3 😛 international rugby of this calibre in July? Loving it. The fact that there is even a "rivalry" starting between the Springboks and Ireland to me is a thing of beauty. We are not renowned internationally in many sports for being near the top so when it does happen it's a thing to celebrate. As for the next test, I hope we can build on the performance. Better in defence and get our attacking shape going more often! Dan Sheehan is a big loss but Kelleher looks to be on the rise and Herring off the bench is a very good attacking option at hooker. Fullback I think stick with Osborne if he's fit otherwise Jimmy O'Brien. As a Munster man it hurts to say this but POM is lacking in the power department, Baird with Izuchukwu on the bench would be my preference. POM is not at his best and is in decline. Mentality is there, leadership is there but I don't think his body is there. I'd love to be proven wrong. Nash needs to go looking for work off his wing more, a la Hansen, he was quiet last game. I'd start Blade and finish with Murray at scrum half, tempo tempo tempo. As for the DJ and the Saffas using Zombie is great banter! Love it! I want to learn more about the South African culture so we can respond to them in kind. Hard to take the piss out of biltong, brai, great wine and Nelson Mandela 😅 Back to the test, we have a chance, hope we can take it! Éireann abú! 🇮🇪

I agree with you about Ireland’s chances. The books were scrappy imo. They also had some tight calls go their way. I’m South African and think we’ll have to up our game to win this weekend. Btw love your channel - it’s good to see an honest no frills and dramatics in a presentation style, as well as logical well formulated and informed comments.

Hey Tim. Welcome to KZN brother... even though it gets a bit chilly, there is no winter here. So in my honest opinion... SA now play both northern hemisphere and southern hemisphere seasons... so been tired looses it's 'excuse' to tired players. that comes down to national players welfare. Secondly, SA has its own culture, challenges and identity to deal with everyday life, sports and outside critiscm. We do not have any disrespect for the Irish, we just find a way as a whole nation to give our guys the best advantage that we can. Zombie is a epic song and it means a lot to the Irish, we can all respect that but we don't feel that, because we are not Irish. We, in our own culture, decided as a whole country to do our part and defuse a motivation moment for our opponents. NOT out of disrespect but rather out of RESPECT. We know how good and lethal the Irish are but, as a patriotic nation, we will help our team in anyway we can, because they help us and give us hope and belief.
