As a bok fan, this one stings. Congrats Ireland. Game aside, just realized how fortunate we fans are in this era to enjoy analysis and commentary likes of Mark, Tim (eggchasers), Robbie (Squidge) etc. These guys are real students of the game, and their level of insight and preparation often trumps the ex player pundits. Always feel I have more closure after a game after watching your reviews, thank you, keep it up!

True though SA are obviously exceptional there but we have to be able to at least keep it steady. It will be very hard to continue to win big games with those types of scrum performances. I see David Humphries is bringing in a rule of no non Irish qualified front rows for the provinces from 2025. It’s a good move. We have plenty of hookers though so it’s not really a problem there.

  • @MaxWaster

Yeah I agree, and that's the real sign of a great team. How often have New Zealand beaten us in the past with poor performances? Not that this game is an example of a poor Irish performance, but it certainly wasn't Ireland's best by a long shot (Same for SA ofc), yet Ireland stopped the Boks from scoring a try in their own back yard. I suppose it has to do with how complete our game is now. Yeah our attack might not always be firing at 100% but we have a world class defence and kicking game too. So now any 1 or even 2 of those can fail, and we're still going to be there or there abouts come the final whistle.

Our results and mind set over the last two decades is night and day compared to the darks days of the 80s/90s etc.
