I really like that all the individual pieces themselves are integrated extremely well, but also modular in a way that makes repairs and maintenance in the future fairly easy and straightforward. It's also nondestructive and easily reversible - something that's NOT possible in other motor designs.

The design and implementation is a work of art. Very clear that this is not a coincidence but intentional work of good management and choosing the right people to do their best work without a fear based culture. This video is yet another demonstration that you can design, manufacture and deliver a next generation EV. My hats off on this intelligent design, it makes other EV’s primitive at best for the challenges that ev’s have to overcome day in and day out between human error, road hazards and Elon’s ego

I appreciate your videos broadening the knowledge publicly available to consumers. They are very nicely put together and offer the building blocks that allow people learn without feeling put off/excluded. As a design engineer working within EV I have a lot of respect for Lucid Motors, I have a slight irritation at the suggestion that these are 'lucid air' innovations, but many of the technologies being harnessed are currently only used in very high performance/low volume vehicles. It's no less of a challenge to take the number of components required to make these products into production scales that make a profitable product. I wish you the greatest of luck and selfishly too, the market has a lot of room for growth and the success of any one pushing these technologies will always benefit the many, allowing the market as a whole to perform better.

The video looks fantastic, but I have some questions I'm curious about: Does each gate driver IC drive two parallel modules? Does it cause any issues in terms of module control and protection? Can different gate responses be obtained in different thermal conditions, and how much difference does it create in switching or conduction losses? Another question is regarding the gate driver board. It shows two gate drivers. If the transformers visible in the video are for an isolated supply, then where is the third gate driver and isolated supply located? I got a bit confused about this.

I hope Lucid moves fast and adopts the NACS charging standard for their Lucid Gravity next year. Having access to the Tesla charging network will go a long way in making their cars more desirable. Having better range doesn't mean much if you are still stuck using more unreliable CCS charging stations. It also needs to have a heat pump that is on par with Tesla's so they have better range performance in colder environments.
