Lucid began as Atieva just over five years ago. Initially they were designing batteries and all the power electronics to supply OEMs as the EV revolution took hold. As we now know, five years ago the OEMs were not impressed with EVs and were happy to just buy off the shelf generic parts, so the name changed to Lucid, and they began designing a car. The Air's design and development has been ongoing for some years now. Lucid has a viable plan for growth and experienced management in place. Phase 2 of their factory expansion is well under way in Arizona.

The 10 kW DC-to-DC converter to supply the refrigerant compressor and heater with only 400 V (which they call "medium voltage") is interesting - apparently it was cheaper or more practical to add this component than to get the compressor and heater built for them to run on the traction battery voltage.

The battery range is much greater than what other EVs have, but the amount that you drive per day isn't going to be much different if at all. So it depends on how many miles you drive. It's likely to be under an hour each night, and I try to sleep far more than that. You can add up to 80 miles of range per hour, so 30 minutes should be more than enough for most people. Even if you come home with a nearly depleted battery, and charging starts at 11 pm, by 5 am you'd have at least 480 miles of range. If you came home with more than 40 miles of range, you'd be charged, but I doubt that most people who return from a trip long enough to go through almost 500 miles of range is going to get up at 5 am to take another 500 mile trip. But even if you do, it's possible. You should get more sleep though. More realistically if you just came back from a trip, an hour charge would be overkill for the next day's typical commute. And you'd typically have more than a few hours to charge.

This will affect the life of the car batteries, as the number of charging cycles is one of the most important factors for the longevity of electric cars But home batteries are usually used from cheaper materials. It's okay. After 10-12 years, changing the home batteries will not be expensive.

7:55 kudos to Lucid for being a rare company that acknowledges EVs actually do use fossil fuels BUT the solar panel free energy is misleading. Lithium batteries are enormously carbon-intensive to produce and they have a cycle life limit which is going to be partially used every time you charge regardless if it's Solo or fossil fuel based so this needs to be in the math, especially since your scenario literally involves a remote recharge. Solar panels also have a finite lifespan and are carbon-intensive to produce. Not "zero" at all.

What can we accomplish with a 20 ft. sized container OPS, using Lucid's integrated battery technology.? Probably run an entire Tesla giga factory for a couple days.

I’d love to see lucid making roads too, for self driving. I can see it now Lucid roads where it can charge wirelessly through network of smart roads. Metal detecting from car to road in wires constructed in the floor to keep the car centered in lane.

The structural strategy of your car is insufficient to get the needed 4 times crash safety needed to actually protect passengers. As a former airbag engineer, of bags, modules and sensors, your tech is outdated (and so are all other companies, so don't feel too bad). Airbags do NOT provide needed protection, and the car structural strategy needs to change... Hint. Happy to discuss. As for the Wunderbox, all this complexity is not needed with fuels and combustion. New Engine Type (NET) tech requires NO computers to operate, thus not needing rare earth metal and expensive parts. The complexity of the Lucid is insane and will doom the company to bankruptcy. Make it simple or go out of business. Friendly hint.
