We get Libby the 1943 Harley Davidson WLA out of winter hibernation, give her a check over and a short test ride.
Жүктеу.....

Thanks, glad you like it. Libby had a problem this week so a bit of maintenance needed. I'm posting a video of it soon. Glad you're getting out and enjoying rides yourself. I quit fancy a RE myself. Cheers.

You said you were recording this in the middle of June and I’m watching it in the middle of June. You go on your say it’s pouring down with rain and guess what…☔️☔️ Who said history doesn’t repeat itself 🤣🤣 Found that very interesting and am going to check out Introducing Dave next. Hope the leg is healing well. 👍

I am sorry now i had a dig at your Gold Star in name only the other day, I had a war loans of America flathead 750 as well as the 1200 called a 1012 over here in Australia, Also Redfern motorcycles in Sydney was the place to get all your flathead parts Knuckle and pan parts to and the father and son owners used a 1200 flathead as there parts delivery with sidecar attached. I left the UK in the early seventy's but I remember Taylor Dows in Banbury were the place to buy proper gold stars ( hill starts were always fun on the flatheads) Kind regards from Mystery Bay Australia

Really not a problem, as I said, we all see things differently. I love the old Harleys, I've had three flatheads and a Shovel over the years. Sold the Shovel a couple of years ago as it had got to be too heavy for me. I dropped it a couple of times maneuvering it out of the garage. Loved it though, owned it for 27 years. Sold it to a friend so it went to a good home and I still see it when we go out on runs. Cheers.

Thanks for the informative video. What would you value a 1952 WLA that is currently for sale in USA for 19500. The bike shows 3000 miles on odometer and hasn’t run in 10 years turns over and is painted blue. Good title.

Glad you found it interesting, thanks for watching. Can't really help with a valuation I'm afraid. Prices over here in the UK are quite different to those in the US. It would also depend on condition and how original it was. You'd really need someone over there with a knowledge of the models and what's right or wrong about that particular bike. Cheers Rog

that is one amazing bike ;; so complete and fairly easy to use ,;;; the 120 mph speedo -- are you being chased by an me 109 ,,, focke wolf 190 ??? or the tardis ;;

Thanks Simon. Harley always seemed to be over optimistic with speed as they fitted 120 mph speedos to most bikes. No sign of the tardis yet with her, only seems to affect Goldie so far🤣🤣🤣

Never been a fan of Harley... over priced... .over weight and having grown up in the " blowing pin " era..... not a bike you'll want to leave town on. But I always had a soft spot for an old flattie... classic lines. So, for my 65th birthday... bought one. 1942... in civilian trim...great bike... 50 mph is its sweet spot.... When I wore olive drab for Uncle Sam I was an MP... so a couple years ago got another Wla in military trim and fitted it out as a period MP motorcycle. lights ... siren.. bags... tommy gun.... Can you say.. " photo op " at every stop. and on a side note... the RE Interceptor is a great bike...Really enjoy mine.. cruises at 75mph... it's the 650 all others wanted to make.... ...... I have all the others in the stable... BSA, Triumph, Xs650 and even a fable " TRITON " (a three year build).... 😎

Thanks for watching, hope you found it interesting. Know what you mean about Harleys, I had a modern evo one back in the 1990s but didn't really click with it. Had 3 flattys and love em. Two in military trim and one civilianised. Sounds like you've a really good collection of bikes there, hope you get out and enjoy them. Cheers.
