This is just made up on your part. I can understand not wanting it. I certainly would never have bought one. But to ignore the fact that every target in America has an entire aisle of similar products to the Amico that you and I would never buy is silly. Those things exist. A company doesn’t have to make something you Personally want to buy in order to be successful.

Honestly, I was someone who was originally receptive to the concept of the Amico. Pat and Ian probably saved me money.

I didn't think news would get worsen for Intellivision but this is the gift that keeps on giving. The influencers/KZreadrs actively trying to get money out of people are not only complicit, they are active participants in this scam. It's fascinating and infuriating to see how bad, how blatant the attempt to swindle money out of people has been. The sheer sleaziness of evading questions and even including the influencers/cultists in on the marketing is just so disgusting to me. I can't see how any of those folks can come back. I think you're right Pat, we are on the precipice of a meltdown and fallout that will make the Coleco Chameleon look like a small blip. Gaming's Theranos, Fyre Fest, and WeWork seems to be ramping up to a huge meltdown and I can't wait to see how it happens. Pat, Ian, you two made a video almost a month ago wondering aloud if there would be an Amico meltdown this year. It seems that video was almost prophetic because the news these last few weeks has unearthed this complete disastern. The sick part is I think all of the heads of Intellivision will get away with this Console turned Ponzi scheme, and the only ones who end up on the hook will be the investors.

Pat and Ian know these companies are banking on 80s kids now with nostalgia and if they need to be our wallet guardians, so be it. Unlike others, they have a proven track record and the streak will continue. I'm also getting tired of hearing "both sides", when in fact the pro-Amico zealots were the ones focused on toxic drama, taking shots at the CU Podcast and gaslighting for Tommy. So no, it's not both sides. One side, even you "hate" them, was RIGHT. That's it, take the L. We don't need to listen to Amico KZreadrs making excuses who have been literally wrong these 3 years, while Pat/Ian and many others were right. Turn off your feelings and look at who has the track record based on FACTS and who doesn't.

The inevitable fallout was backed up by facts over the years that only supported what would come to be. Pat and Ian didn't shit all over this for no reason, there were trails of evidence every step of the way.

I honestly don’t enjoy watching anyone get scammed. The naïve older investors that Tommy swindled have my sincere sympathy. But I do enjoy when bullies get their comeuppance. Pat and Ian, keep up the good work.

I'm going to echo what Pat and Ian said Refund your system NOW. ASAP! Edit: I mean, the 8-Bit Guy and several retro computer experts are making a Commodore 64 style computer, and they have been more open about progress than Tommy and Amico have been up until now, and they haven't taken any money!

If you are going to release a phone game system based on 7 year old cell phone tech why not just make an android box with an additional game store. I don't know who this is for. Over the marked price is a massive gouge and really just a plan to pack things up and have an excuse to fall through. What a giant scam. Pat and Ian were right the entire way.

Seeing Smash JT eat a HUGE helping of crow is just...everything I thought it could be!

Pat, Ian - I was never a fan of your podcast until you began dissecting the Amico dumpster fire. Your videos have been so prophetic in both message and execution, it made me subscribe. Keep up the fantastic work! Never change!

If it ever gets released, the Amico will be forgotten about in a month and will likely be a huge flop. I can't imagine anyone under 40 being excited about this thing unless they're big into retro gaming and even then it's probably a hard sell. The behind the scenes drama and the coverage of it is far more entertaining than the console could ever hope to be.

@@AdamMontgomery1 Or better yet just use Emulators. I know people who bought the Atari VCS and yet a used $80.00 laptop plays everything it plays and better with emulators. Emulation is much easier then people think these days and it is free and better than any retro console I know of. Wish you well Adam.

First, we're never going to be able to watch the Amico Cult actually play the console and try to keep peddling it to others while pretending that they're actually enjoying these games. Here's my suggestion: take a victory lap once this thing dies but then move on. Being relegated to obscurity is usually a far worse punishment than continually being kicked while down.

I don't know what's more shocking. People that believe this will be successful and by that, mean actually released. Or that you two have so many enemies!

Pat & Ian always keep it real, I do it as well and get the same push back from sheep / the herd.

Snes mini was a fun plugnplay for 80 dollar, but for the AMICO 100 dollar alone goes to one investor!

Grew-up in the 80's and the very first console my older brother and I got was an Intellivision so when I saw news about a new Intellivision I was very interested! Then I saw the Amico console and thought it was one of the worst ideas I have ever seen. When I saw that Tommy Tallirico was the CEO and knew it was never gonna happen, the guy is a musician (not a Rockstyar to be clear) not sure how that adds up to CEO material.

I think, Pat, you (and obviously Ian) are right on. You should be the naysayers for this stuff. To assume a tech venture is going to come through, or could come though, THIS FAR in it's "development" with so much money thrown into it, FROM PUBLIC INVESTORS mind you and no tangible product, no solid evidence of it's development, no concrete "we are working on this shit as promised" updates, is reckless. Personally I think all crowd funded tech ventures are reckless. I will let a product go to market and succeed or fail before I commit my hard earned money to it. I could have major ticking time bomb flaws, short life expectancies, buggy software with slow patches and/or hardware incompatibilities.... let the market test it thoroughly. "well we need money to realize an idea.." PROVE TO ME MY MONEY WILL MAKE A GREAT SOLID PROJECT

Even companies with huge funds have issues, Microsoft with the 360 red ring of death, Sony with the PS3 yellow light of death, Nintendo with joy con drift, the list goes on. Also all these games that come out from huge companies that are half-complete and we have to wait months for it to truly be a competent game. That is why I trust nothing crowd--funded.

The Early Worm Effect, as Stop Drop Retro phrased of a laser razor: If this product is so innovative, a bigger company would do it better, cleaner, and with less kinks in the system. And quite possibly sooner than the alleged innovator could. (In this case, I think Tommy got it completely backwards or is working on a delayed sense of time, but he's never been known for original thoughts.)

Dead in the water. The end of the month date to announce a release date was likely dependent upon the success of this Start Engine campaign. Expect a delay in an announcement and ultimately witness the company fold by end of March to mid April.

Let me put it this way; I like David Wise, I like Yuzo Koshiro, I like Koji Kondo... But I don't trust them to release a new console even though I respect their professional work.

And to put it another way: Koichi Sugiyama may have been a fine _traditional_ composer and Japanese warcrime denier, but a video game musician he wasn't. I wouldn't have trusted his opinions, nor for him to compose an EDM track.

I'd like to remind everyone that non-disclosed positive testimonials by investors or employees is a free space on the FTC's long list of violations. Helping bring the Amico to an extra explosive finish would be a positive cherry on top of this bombshell sundae, so why not help tip into the FTC's hat by explaining in great detail how _certain parties_ have been astroturfing the Amico this whole time, even had secret meetings, tried to erase evidence, and more? Don't forget to mention the unresolved contests.

I have to wonder... Since Intellivision used snippets of videos that were critical of the Amico to make the Amico seem positive, can the folks who made those videos take legal action? I know it's not slander, but the concept of taking parts of videos to basically say, "Hey, we support this." when they actually don't, I have no idea about the legality of that either way. Definitely an unethical and scummy move on Intellvision's part at the minimum.

How anyone could have any faith in the Amico at this point is blind in one and can't see out of the other.

At this point pat, I think you need to donate to them for the great job security they gave you with their never ending bs lol

I don't think anyone only now turning away from the Amico is worthy of criticism, but they're not really worthy of praise either, especially when there were constant signs of how dubiously the whole enterprise was being run for some time. Furthermore, the shift into skepticism within the past two weeks still feels like passive excuse making for Tommy. When he was at the center of the company as CEO the defenses for his behavior never seemed to stop, but suddenly with him in less power and another figure as a Chief Executive, now is the time to question their business history (despite much less confirmed history of console development mismanagement)? It just reeks of very selective suspicion.

When this boat sinks completely, dozens of 50 year olds will cry in utter disappointment… since that’s literally the demographic for this train wreck of a console…

Got pumped about this via the AA thread. So much that my wife pre-ordered. After the first delay, was still on board. The first game play videos kind of put me out a bit. Pretty sure my old HTC Inspire could run them. After the 2nd and 3rd delays, I got over it. Like Pat said, they should've done a loaded peripheral vs a full blown system. On a bright side, she got the $100 back recently. Look forward to seeing the Video Game Museum post about getting a hold of one...lol

I Want My Amico …… Love that song!

Just wanted to add a data point to possibly help others. I preordered a Graphite Black on April 20, 2020. Last Saturday, after watching one of Pat's videos, I contacted Intellivision support via email requesting a refund. On Monday, I received an email that my order was canceled and the refund had been issued. Hopefully, it will post in a couple days. When I played the original Intellivision, one of my favorite games was Biplanes. Hopefully the Amico version will get released on some platform. Best of luck to anyone else planning to request a refund.

The Amico can be replacement foot bath shells for those with tiny feet. It's a massive market? How many billions of children and short people are there?? ALL WILL BUY IT!!!

Ian is a 100% right about how even homeless people get free phones. I feed a few homeless people at a park near me and they got free smartphones that are more powerful than the one I bought. Many of those free government smartphones have equal or even slightly better tech then the Amico has. Simple to put emulators on them also. All this nonsense for years and it turns out the amico's big audience is like 5000 weirdo's with 5000 different alt accounts. Millions of dollars and with the backing of a small youtube army of shills and at the end of the day all they managed to garner was a small, insignificant, irrelevant and pathetic little micro niche of an audience even before the whole charade fell apart. This crappy little android footbath, that most aliexpress knockoff consoles would be ashamed to be seen with, got time at E3. It's honestly incredible how much of a show they put on for so so little.

RTU had a good video how Tommy screwed Shane from Rerez. Cut job on editing by Tommy 🙄😠

TT is living a real life version of The Producers movie.

After watching all of these CU Podcast videos on the Amico chronologically, its interesting to see how Pat was still on good terms with Tommy in the beginning and how and Pat and Ian were trying to be respectful in their questioning of Tommy, his plans, and the viability of the Amico. Then things took a turn, likely after negative backlash from the Amico crowd against Pat and Ian. I guess money (or the promise to make money) made people disillusional and not question bad logic. At least we got a good clip of Pat doing an angelic "Amico" chant in one of the early podcasts covering the Amico.

I saw them as well. It took a sudden turn when pat was reviewing the Amico trailer and supposedly misquoted the price of the Amico. That was enough for Tommy to lash out against him, and the rest is history. After that Pat and Ian had a couple of videos in which they weren't sugar coating their opinions anymore, which were honest but sounded really harsh, talking about mainly the looks of the games and the Amico not being competitive. After those, they mainly focused on the shady business/marketing practises.

The most important thing out of all of this is the Last issue of Nintendo Power is a really Good Read.

They clarified (on Smash JT's channel because he was starting to finally accept he wasted $10k) that Phil Adam was joking about having a holiday. I'm not laughing but, you know, there's that... But anyway, I don't agree with you guys on everything but I've certainly agreed with you on the Amico (and the Atari VCS and the Coleco Chameleon) every step of the way. It's a shame it wasn't more in the vain of the Coleco Chameleon where they weren't just taking people's money and running, but it's still been funny to watch and say "I told you so".

Smash JT finally woke up and smelled the coffee and saw the writing on the wall. Yeah the Amico is done. The best case scenario for this is they send out consoles to those who preordered but that is really pushing it.

@A Volpe Yeah that is why I said that was pushing it because NOTHING is going to come of this.

I’m glad we didn’t spend too much time on the Amico, I wanted to believe it would be successful because I liked the idea of it, but man this has been ridiculous at this point. Also, minor edit, we started our podcast because of your channel and a few others that were an inspiration to us. We talked about that in our original video on our channel actually.

At this rate, the Amiico will cost more than the entry level Steamdeck.

Been waiting for this ALL WEEK boys!!!!
