Integrating with Home Assistant | HDB Smart Home
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
During renovation, we had to start thinking about the appliances and fittings to install in our HDB flat. Many IDs and electricians are still not savvy on smart homes, and although there are companies that help set one up in their walled ecosystems, we chose to figure things out ourselves by researching about all the different smart home protocols and integrations available in Singapore.
For the best of all worlds, we went with Home Assistant. In this first video of our smart home tour series, you can view our initial thoughts on getting specific brands and models that have been working well with one single hub so far. Stay tuned for further in-depth smart home content!

Hi, do you use dumb switch for the smart fan or it can be use with smart switch? I read up that smart switches is not compatible with smart fan due to the impulse load.

We are using a smart switch for our ceiling fan with no issues. Modern fans should be compatible.
Hi, can you share how did you go about planning for a "smart home" as it can be quite intimidating for beginners.

Sure, we will work on something!
Hi Sun, may I know if your hub aka the old macbook air needs to be online all the time in order for the smart home control to work?

It doesn't have to be connected to the internet since most appliances can continue to work via the MacBook Air hub locally!
