I know it sounds crazy, but I am still just heartbroken to hear of Glens passing. I never met him, yet I feel like he was my friend as well, since I usually imagine being all the places Steve goes, which includes having my friend come for a surprise visit like this. If I feel this way day after day, I can't imagine what Steve is going through, and would give anything to take that pain from him, even if for just a few minutes. You are constantly in my thoughts, dear Steve.

Same here. Diagnosed at 27 with early onset arthritis currently 33. Had to get a walking cane last year to help and thought to myself if I'm getting a cane I'm getting a unique one that will start a conversation and settled on a silver wolf head cane. Helped with the self confidence with walking around with it.

Hello gents, Been canin' it since I was 32 as well (4 years now). Gout is my disorder. During a flare, the cane helps A LOT. Nothing made me feel better that first day walking out the store than my wife saying, "damn it, how do you make a cane look good." She was raised by her grand parents, so that may explain it, but either way that gave me all the confidence I ever needed from then on. I need to get a sick one like y'all described, or maybe go full House and get a flame-printed one!

I was 31 when I went out with my back. I was a nurses aide and the client didn’t want to work with me. And I hurt it twice. I was 34 and got social security disability. My son was 2 years old and I couldn’t lift him anymore.

Canes are cool! I have gout and take medication. No major flare ups. My Doctor says it's hereditary, My Grandfather had it. I keep a set of crutches next to my bed to remind me to take my medication.

You don't have to always stealth camp. We just want to see you camp....anywhere. Keep them coming.

Honestly, this. He could put out a video of a blanket fort in his living room and I’d love it just as much. We all know we’re here for Steve, the adventures are a plus

It's legitimately great to see Crazy Neighbor back at it. My mother was an ER nurse for 20 years. And she's told me several times that when senior citizens take fall damage to their hips, legs, knees, or ankles, it generally cuts their remaining life expectancy in half, specifically because they become sedentary. Legitimately, the best thing Crazy Neighbor can do for his own health is just staying active and trying to keep up with you from time to time

Mr. Wallis, most of us would be lucky to have a friend like you have got. It's nice that you're worried about him, but he's there because he's worried about you. What an awesome guy!

Y'know Steve, we love watching your stealth videos, it's the initial content that got most of your fans into your channel. But after watching for a little while now, I'd say you just camping, building a fire, trying out a new idea, making a meal and just sort of pontificating is just as good. You've acquired a lot of wisdom in your life and it's great when you share it with us, regardless if it's stealth camping or just camping on your property (or Crazy Neighbor's for that matter!) And speaking of, great to see Crazy Neighbor on the mend. I'd definitely keep an eye on him too, just to make sure he doesn't push himself too hard too soon. I have no doubt he'll get back to where he was, he just has to give his body some time to heal. I know he'd keep an eye on you if the roles were reversed. That's what friends do.

Watching these 2 friends together is so wholesome. I love the way steve is taking care of his buddy 😊

Steve, you could be in a tent in your living room and we'd still watch. Heck you could be in your own bed in your own room and we'd watch. It's the Steve part of camping with Steve that we're all here for.

Sorry i'm two months late Steve and YT folks, but I wanted to write what many have already wrote, and that is how amazing Steve and Crazy Neighbor have come. When Beautiful Wife passed away, im sure many of us who are to far away wished we could of been there with Steve, but thank God Crazy Neighbor was there for us... Now Steve is there for Crazy Neighbor and it gives me tears to see two good men being kind and thoughtful to each in times of need, God Bless Steve & Crazy Neighbor.

I just checked back in on your channel after stumbling across it a while back. Gave a sub this time, I enjoy your longer camps, more than 2 nights, and I particularly enjoy colder temperature camps. Also, discovering Crazy Neighbor and then learning he passed just after discovering this magnificent man was/is truly heart breaking. The man made your life immeasurably more enjoyable, I have no doubt. I sure wish his family, and you too, Steve, nothing but comfort and may his memory live on in videos but also in our hearts.

Glenn has that exhausted/sick look to him... I hope he was able to get a few good months after this...RIP Crazy Neighbor.

That's a heck of a way to break your femur in a "motorcycle accident." Ouch! Good PSA for us folding knife carriers. It was joyful and restorative to see you build your inventive shelter, cook a tasty meal, talk to us, and enjoy a step two in nature with Crazy Neighbor. Hats off to him--he's a trouper to be out there at that stage of healing, especially when there can be an adjustment when you combine bonus hardware with cold. It was also very relaxing with no need to hide. But whatever you do is great. Happy camping!

Crazy Neighbor has made a fast recovery so far. Great to see him on the mend. I was in the medical field for 30 years (including emergency room trauma) and broken femurs (much less pelvis) are VERY serious injuries. A fatty embolus (pulmonary embolus) to the lung is a serious complication that happens frequently with broken femurs. So very glad to see Crazy Neighbor doing so well!!! 🙂

Yep. Spent time as a nurse on an ortho ward, also nearly lost a hubby to a shattered pelvis and lung complications. On pediatrics one year we had a series of children in skeletal traction with broken femurs. Lots to watch out for in those cases. Things can go south quickly.

Glad to see Crazy Neighbor up and about. Hope he recovers completely soon.

I'm always carrying my pocket knife in that same pocket... And while walking the dog on a muddy trail today, I slid and fell on that pocket side. I stand rather on the fat side of the Force so there was no way this tiny pocket knife would shatter anything on me. But I'll keep that in mind... Regarding Crazy Neighbour, I'm amazed he was walking only 6 days after such a procedure. A warrior ! But that's how you recover : either you focus on your pain and you stay crippled forever, or you focus on what you want to do and you recover. He really was this "carpe diem" guy... RiP Crazy Neighbour.

Just catching up on videos and watched this right after the video with the news of Crazy Neighbors passing. Relished in his story, laughed a little harder, cried a little more and enjoyed to the fullest. RIP CN The onion and garlic cooking thing is true. My son always got hungry smelling that. No way would I stay out with that huge pack of coyotes so close. 😮

How good it is seeing the mighty duo together again by a fire, sharing a yarn and a step 2. How creepy were the coyotes and wolves! Was it a full moon? (Maybe they were just telling you how cold it was.) You can teach folks quite a bit about winter survival, Steve. Stay well and be safe -- we can't wait to see what comes next.

So glad to see Glen doing OK and love that he told the story of the 'motorcycle' accident...and nice of the coyotes to leave them be. Hope he heals up strong and that Steve starts the adventure of a lifetime. 🙏

Steve, I have been watching you for a long time. Your videos have helped me get through some really rough times, man. Last month my wife passed away as well and I again turned to your content, especially the ones where you shared your loss. Crazy Neighbor is a tough son of a gun. I had foot surgery a few years back and had to have physical therapy because my leg muscles atrophied in the cast. The first time they told me I could walk I was walking around gingerly with my shoes on but my foot felt really, really weak and off. He drove out there and camped in freezing weather in his vehicle while recovering. That man is as tough as they come.

You don't have to ever do anything crazy steve. We literally just wanna see you camping and cooking and enjoying life brother. Maybe just do something crazy on special occasions or something. I get pumped whenever I see you have a new video up

Hey Steve, this is the first video that I watched from you. Since then I have watched so many, listening to you always giving credit to your beautiful wife. My heart is broken with you, and especially now that Glenn has terminal cancer. I want to assure you that you are loved by so many, God loves you, many are praying for you. Perhaps now you could expand your horizons to the USA, not necessarily doing stealth camping, but touring our great national parks and other parts unknown. I live in Kentucky. Check out the Red River Gorge, it has more natural stone arches than any other state on this side of the Mississippi river. The Red River is in the Daniel Boone National Forest. If you check it out and decide to come here , I will gladly take time off from work to help you or guide.

Would swapping your poly door for Mylar or similar help much with the heat retention? It was lovely seeing you and Crazy Neighbour have such a nice visit, even with the constant coyote serenade going on!

Yeah, the plastic sheet does everything wrong; keeps moisture in(if tight) but lets all thermal radiation out. Mirrored mylar layer on bubble wrap film would make the thermal difference. Also a bucket of hot water would be nice as a starter or night heat source.
