When I was homeless I used a one person tent big enough for me to sit up in without my head touching the roof and put a comforter (thick blanket) over top of it then hung up a tarp to repel rain. That one comforter over top made it so I could sit up in my tent just in a hoody in 34F weather and be perfectly warm. Pre bought Insulated tents are very expensive. I tried putting more blankets over top of it but it made the tent pole start to bend over so if you want to use even more blankets for better insulation I recommend using string to lift the other blankets off the tent slightly to hold some of the weight. Also I used four layers of cardboard on the inside floor of the tent for bottom insulation because the cold will eat right through your sleeping bag if you don’t have bottom insulation. Having my own tiny tiny home in the winter where I could be very warm with just my body heat was such a luxury for me.

I was homeless and did somwthing similar but i didnt use any blankets. I wish i thought of that rather than putting em on the floor of the tent. I did use a tarp on the top to repel the rain cuz tents arent waterproof lol juat resistant

@@N3MES1SX12 even if you can’t cover the tent with a tarp I used to slide my sleeping bag into one of those big black trash bags before getting into it. Helps hold some heat in and keeps the water off of you. A few layers of cardboard under you with a bag around them to keep them dry helps keep things a little more comfortable too

All I could think of during the set up was, “He made a turducken tent!” 😂 This looks so cozy

Does pancit not have any seasoning at all? Sure the chicken stock and the savoury sauces add some but it didn't look nearly well-seasoned enough. Granted I am Indian and I love my spices, and we have a version of this (sevai) so I may be biased.

Indeed. I've heard of folks keeping an emergency tent or two to set up indoors if the power goes out. Especially kiddos can get really unhappy in the cold. Let 'em play in it and sleep warm too

I think there ARE bed cover tents? But if not? Throw fairy lights over it. Legit throw some fairy lights over/in in. So fluffy pillows. Call it a reading or study area, what have you. If not? Terracotta lamps(?) work great for heating. Is what I did. Go for it. If it sparks joy? F normal, be weird and happy. You'll be warmer.

I appreciate the fact that you included us (1.9m, and counting) in on your prayers. I need them, thanks. Regarding the tent setup. For years now (I'm from MN) I always believed if I needed to journey home, one of my "go to " solutions would be a regular tent inside a structure. Even at home, if we ever lost heat I'd prepare a small space and have a tent set up for more comfortable sleeping. I did try a tent once for fun righ inside my hotel room, no heat. It worked well.

Yes lived in a tee pee when I was a kid..it uses the same principles.. dobble layer with flaps on the outside that are weighed down with snow.. and in thr inner layer which was frost free but perhaps like 5 or 10 degrees we had the food and extra things we did not need very warm.. never froze once.. even in minus 40.. only in the morning when you had to pee.

Makes sense to me, the more layers the better the insulation as more heat is trapped. Kind of like the difference between single, double and triple paned glass.

This brought back a memory of my family camping in Idaho when my kids were little. We put up a tent, covered it with a comforter and then staked down a tarp over that because we were to cheap to get a hotel room. My wife and daughter wussed out and got a room but my son who was only about 4 and I stayed. We were the only two in the campground! We roasted hot dogs and made smores, built a snow man and had a blast until night time. By 11 pm, we said screw this and joined the girls. It was so cold, when we went back in the morning to make breakfast, the eggs were frozen! Good times!!

The 3 tents are the Best thing I've ever seen and must have a Set. Thank You for Your Video!!

I don't know that I could handle the smaller insulated tent like that. Have claustrophobic issues Brother. That location was so so pretty. Daddy's little girl Lil, is growing into being like her Mommy, making sure you remember to take care of yourself. I love it. How sweet. It would be fun to see how you prepare for a trip sometime. From start to finish. I think it would be an eye opener for us to see all the behind the scenes prep you do to make the amazing content you put out for us. The choosing and packing of the gear you need, shopping for the meals you make, how you fit it all in Bruce and what you have to do when you make it back home. I don't see any other youtuber doing that for their subscribers. Even your process of editing, that takes like forever for you. I think it would be fascinating. What fun!! Super hyper hot tenting! Pancit. (Pun-sit) I hope that helps with the pronunciation! The version you made is called Pancit Bihon (Be-hoon). Made with thin rice noodles. Mom and dad usually made another style. Pancit with the flour/egg noodles. Thinly sliced cabbage, carrots and celery. All stir fried in soy sauce/water mixture. Pork was the meat they used. I enjoy them all! We could almost smell and taste how delicious yours was! Thank you for sharing God's beautiful creation with us!!

What an awesome tent!! Love it. I love the shape - it is open and roomy. I am with you - I like to be able to stand up in a tent as it is more comfortable. The insulated smaller tent looks so cozy. The small cocoon tent looks so warm and sleepy. The dinner looked delish. I know you love the winters up in Gods country of the Great Northwest! And you love the thick fluffy snow - well that is what you got! And it is sooooo beautiful. I would love to retire up on the Priest Lake region - God willing! Thank you for your prayers and blessings to all of us. Praying for you and your family - including the pup! Blessings to you and Gods protection over you always. It is a wonderful thing to have Jesus to lean on in these scary and unpredictable times.

I cannot lie, I was all the way claustrophobic watching the inside of the smallest insulated tent, Kenny. I wouldn't have been able to breathe hot air all night, jeez. But the idea of tent inside a tent has been recommended for use at home during winter power outages in cold climates for survival. As for the Pancit, it sure made me hungry. 😊 Thank you for bringing us along for this fun tent adventure.

It was a bit stuffy in that tent! I assure you I had good ventilation and was able to breath well with all the vents open. Otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to do it either haha thank you for always being here for me and the family. You are a major blessing 😊😊

I have to say that the tent is really cool. Looks like the tent world is getting better than it was 30-40 years ago. I love it when you prayed for your food you don’t see or hear that anymore but good job. This tent looks like it would be fun and comfortable to camp outside and enjoy sleeping in it but for people that claustrophobic not such a good idea. Good job on showing how this tent works. I like it thank you and God bless!

What I would have give for even ONE of those tents when going through USAF winter survival school in January in eastern Washington state! What a clever idea, while we had to contend with voice bows and a am army mummy sleeping bag. I had never been so cold in my life! Will have to try your recipe! Thanks for the neat video!

Dude this is so rad. Been a while but last time I went snow camping me and some friends got a huge 8 person tent with 2 tarps on the bottom. My buddy brought his space heater and then we each had two sleeping bags. Good times
