Lindholm was injured when he arrived in Vancouver, but was strong in the playoffs, which is what you pay for in deadline deals. Zadorov gives Boston a bigger badder Bruin than they've had in a while, but that contract is a killer. The Leafs are most definitely not going to enjoy playing against either of these guys on the regular and especially not in the playoffs.

  • @dim4757

People forget that Charlie Coyle hit a career high 60 points with 25 goals this past season. Bergeron scored 58 points in his last season with only 4 less games played. And no, I am not at all comparing Coyle to Bergeron's career based on 1 season. But the fact is that Steve put it perfectly when he said that Montgomery squeezed blood from a stone. Coyle might not be a high end 1C like your McDavid or Stamkos or Draisaitl or Crosby. But when you take into account that the Bruins have a center core of now Lindholm, Coyle, Zacha, and Poitras along with other bottom 6 centers, it's easy to see how deceptively deep they actually are now that they have Lindholm.

@@ELWOPPO2010coyle played with Marchand and DeBrusk for the majority of the season. Pastrnak and zacha were on the second line with geekie. And you’re correct, almost 40 goals gone with the departure of debrusk and heinen, but they’ve gotten over half of those goals back with one player in lindholm. Neither debrusk or heinen are incredible goal scorers, what you’re saying is simply a accumulative stat, there’s nothing special goal scoring about them, they’ll get those goals back by whoever other depth forward they sign or call up with lindholm

Overpay for Zadorov skill/ability/output wise. But he's going to be beloved in Boston. He's going to put butts in seats. He hits like a runaway semi truck, but sometimes it leads to a good chance the other way. He's gonna make that building explode in the playoffs. one way or another. Awesome dude too, very outspoken and huge character in the room. Regular season he's your 4/5 hopefully. Maybe in Boston he succeeds in an established system and room. It's a good fit.

This Boston team isn't loading up for this year I think, but rather the following year. all these long AAVs are so that if they go into next season having rehabbed Korpisalo's value they can move him next offseason and have Swayman healthy to be the horse with a cheaper backup to him. They basically got paid a first to have a shot at getting another draft pick next season, but have to eat Joonas as ovepriced 2G this year (and into the future if they can't rehab him.) It's a risk that might just pay for them to splash big and hard next year. I think this might be why Las Vegas has high odds for them on Draisaitl.

I actually have an outrageous take on the Bruins. They have like 7 centers on the main roster rn (according to cap friendly) so why not try something spicy? Matt Poitras is gonna be back in the lineup so why not put Zacha on the wing with Coyle and Freddy for the 2nd. He has experience from 2023 with that Czech line so why not at least try it out. Worst case scenario you still have insane center depth and best case you end up with a sneakily good second line.
