Incredible to see more of our fellow GA fans’ raised beds! I’m noticing SO many of us are dealing with deer, it’s comforting knowing that I’m not alone!

Just a FYI about deer pressure...I spray diluted Liquid Fence on all my hostas and other veggie plants - any plant - that deer and rabbits like to feast on. Liquid Fence works! The initial 'odor' to the human nose fades in less then a day and I've found lasts as a foliar coating for about a month. If a rain fall occurs close to the end of that time frame, I'm out spraying again because I swear every critter within a mile radius knows my location. Liquid Fence is human safe. Hope this helps. Cheers to a great 2022 growing season!

It would be hard to pick a favorite out of these. Thanks to all who submitted their pictures and thanks, Laura, for putting this together to show us. 💚💚💚
Love, love the video with raised beds. I had 5 raised beds built back in Jan of this year, they are high and have a seating edge on them. I am 70 years old with a bad back and knees. I needed something that I can manage on my own. I couldn't wait to plant in them. Already have lettuce, spinach, onions, kale, carrots, beets, potatoes, planted here in zone 6b. They are up and growing. I also plan flowers for this area and have them started in winter sowed jugs. You have inspired me to get my yard, raised garden and chicken coop all spruced up and boy am I enjoying it. I am blessed as well as encouraged by all your videos with your precious family. You work hard, but living the good life. Blessings to you.
Thanks for the inspiration! Happy Resurrection Sunday! 🤗❤🤗 Christ is risen!
So many beautiful spaces. They took hours and hours of hard work but the end result is absolutely gorgeous. They should all be very proud of their work! I applaud each and every one of you.
At 6:54, the person says that they put lumber and sticks and the water flowed right throught. Its because you're supposed to use wood that is a few years old, has been exposed to the elements and starting to decompose ("healthy" wood is way too hard to absorb water). So, you put your bigger pieces at the bottom and going up you add smaller and smaller branches until it's small twigs. Then you put leaves, whatever material you have like lawn clippings etc, then you add your final layer: compost or raised bed mix or topsoil or whatever soil you choose to use. And don't forget mulch 😉 ! For dry climates, it works best as an inground bed, with the top level flush to the ground level. That way water doesn't evaporates as much (no sides that dry faster than the center) and when it rains water flows in and rehydrates the land In wet climates you're trying to have water drain as quickly as possible so raised beds make sense but in dry climate you're trying to absorb/retain as much water into the soil as possible as the rain is so scarce that when it really pours it runs off because the soil is too dry to absorb it. That is one of the causes of flash floods... Sorry for the rant, i love this stuff 😅
Hey Laura, thank you so much for sharing all these wonderful spaces! Do you think you could also feature balconies for all of us who don't actually own a garden space, sometime in the future? Maybe later this growing season? (My plants are still not fully established!😂)

So cool to see Erin’s garden on Garden Answer! She is awesome!!
How gracious of you to acknowledge all of the submissions, including the ones that didn't make it into the videos. I was a Miss Pouty Pants for a few days after not seeing mine in the first one. It took me over two hours to enter, taking terrible pictures, struggling with the "how to" of converting photo files, and wrestling with the description. We had just put down our beloved kitty and so there were some tears when scrolling by her photos, looking for earlier shots of my raggedy-log raised bed. And while I didn't make it into this second edition either, now I'm grateful, because as you mentioned, there's a mess in the background! Mole-ravaged lawn and layers of gardening clutter on the back patio that has nowhere to go off-season - oh, my. I'm so thankful that you're making these videos, that you're sharing your subscribers' beautiful and inspiring creations, and for your beautiful remarks for each and every one. You are altogether lovely!

Wow I was just browsing the raised garden beds on gardners supply! Perfect timing😅
Just love these submission videos. I'm planning raised potager beds for in front of a greenhouse we're going to be building in May. Raised beds will go in towards the end of summer so that they'll be ready to go for the 2023 gardening season. (lol) Always planning ahead. I think that's why I have so many seating areas in my garden... resting to take in the beauty of the current garden and deep in thought about "next year".
I'm literally going to cry if we don't get to see the flower shed surrounded by blooming bulbs soon 😢🤣

@@lindauttech6940 Where did you get your inspiration? I mean, was there a certain book or Pinterest page or something that you use as a reference? I would like to look more into this style. I don’t know if you saw the first raised bed video. My beds were in that one. The blue house with the woven top beds. They are right along the road. I would really like my raised beds to be pretty and not just utilitarian. If you have any thing that you can share with me that I might be able to look at I would really appreciate it. I’d like to study up on it.

The non-vegetable raised bed was my favorite. Such great design and plant selections. Also, seeing Erin's was fun. Her stock tank is especially cool.
Very beautiful and unique ideas! Laura I have a question. I watched an old video where your mom came and got the dried aliums from your garden to decorate the garden center with. I'm very curious how that project turned out. Do you have any photos to share of that finished project? Thanks so much for all of the great content!

How ironic, as the first fenced/enclosed beds were shown, I thought many of these might be inspired by “Erin/Impatient Gardener.” Lo and behold, @impatientgardener was next being highlighted!
Cindy in Louisiana has such a big garden! Louisianan’s can cook, I bet her food is delicious!
Fabulous inspiration, such creativity & color - feeds the soul!!!
Laura, I have you to thank for a super fun weekend in the garden. We were going to hire someone to move a pile of dirt, but after seeing you work with large equipment in so many videos, I decided if we rented an excavator for a week I could take my time figuring it out and if all I did was fill my garden beds, we would end up ahead. I was super nervous to get started, but with my husbands encouragement I hopped on… five hours later I had my three garden beds filled and my driveway clear for the first time in 9 months!! We plowed through two more large projects today and I still have five days left on the rental 😆
Love all the fantastic ideas!! I learn so much from you and Erin from impatient gardener you both have given me the courage to grow new things!!! 🌺🌸🌼❤️

Oh hey Laura, can we please see how the things in your cold frames are doing? Thank you. 🙏🏼

Oh please do a submission video for container gardens! I’m in an apartment and only have a small deck to grow in. I would love to see ideas from others!
These raised beds are so gorgeous. Just makes me want to jump through the screen so I can have such a nice relaxing afternoon. Well done to all those that took the long arduous task of building them, filling them with all the soil, compost etc and all the beautiful plants.
I liked the second to last one on the video where the raised bed was angled at the one end. Kind of different than just a box shape. So many great ideas from everyone.
I just loved that last submission of the flower cart, absolutely stunning! and I can't wait to see the submissions on the shed idea I am in so desperate need of a shed.
Laura, this was such a fun video! I think gardeners are some of the most creative people in the world. All of these submissions of wonderful raised garden beds certainly prove that! I'm definitely looking forward to seeing how folks decorate and use sheds that they have built or repurposed in their yards.
Wonderful show of raised bed garden areas! I must admit Erin's garden is still one of my most favorites. Thanks for showing it and kudos to her for presenting it to you for consideration. One thing I have learned from all of you is just to go ahead and put really good quality soil mix all the way from the bottom up! And this has always worked best for me in my potted plants as well. Thanks.
I love these viewer submission videos. Please make them an annual event. Taking inspiration from them, next year I will be ready!
When we were building our raised beds, around twenty years ago, having a huge gopher population, we stapled chicken wire to the bottom to keep those rascles out. It worked perfectly. We used two 2x12s and put a top cap for seating. Unfortunately we have moved and I miss those planters...

People have such amazing ideas! I know it doesn’t impact you, but would love to see a series on drought tolerant gardens / landscapes as that is what I am moving towards since Colorado is in a drought.
The first raised bed owner mentioned using mushroom compost, which is the only compost from Espoma in my area that I can find. Have you ever used it/what is it about Land and Sea that made you gravitate to it originally vs. other options?

My friend planted comfrey around the perimeter of his field garden. Keeps grass back.
Love this. Makes me so excited to start growing some things! Thank you to all who submitted and put your spot out there for all of us to see. Very inspiring! 😊♥️
How lovely to see all these beautiful gardens. Thank you for sharing. We are in the middle of filling our raised beds which have been made from blocks and we are cladding them with slate, so they are quite formal. Not growing veg but just the usual shrubs, small trees etc. We can’t grow in the ground as our garden has pipes running below it so we’ve had to get creative. One great bonus is that anything we put in already has height which feels amazing, especially as we can be a bit overlooked on our street.
I love these videos. Thank you for putting them together. I was wondering if you could do video where GA followers send in their electrical box flower beds or ac unit flowerbeds. I have a huge green electrical box in my backyard and would love some inspiration. Would that be possible?
