I love the way you say, "We." "Remember when WE transplanted this peony and that one and there's another one back there last year? It's always "we," instead of "I." I always think to myself, "Why yes, I do remember when WE did that." You probably don't even think about it, but it's really special because we do feel like we're there with you.

I’ve been watching GA for about 3 years now. You kept talking about how wonderful bubblegum was. My mother and I always loved petunias, but had no luck , so we had given up. I finally bought 1 bubblegum to try and we were pleasantly surprised by how well it did. Mom was thrilled! She passed a year ago, but not before she could enjoy her beloved petunias. Thank you so much for that. This year I am growing 4 different petunias. Wish me luck!

I’m so proud of you for feeling okay to lessen your load in certain areas of your garden. Such wisdom you’ve shared in this decision… so many try to do ALL the things, but often it makes other areas actually suffer. Like, our sanity. 😊 I have prayed that you don’t take on more than you can handle because I’d be so sad if you got burnt out and stopped enjoying yourself. ❤ Wise lady you are! ❤️

Since learning that moving a plant is just okay, I did some revamping in my garden this spring. After awhile I thought I could hear the bushes whimpering to each other, “Here comes that old woman with the shovel again!” They all did great and I am much happier with the changes. Was inspired as my small garden is in the area garden walk at the end of June. Thank you for all the inspiration!

Thank you for stopping to show us the peonies! With all we see you plant, it’s nice to see how those plants grow on and flush out. I know you share this on your garden tours, but a quick stop to show us something feels similar to how I enjoy my own garden… seeing things day by day as they bring their own beauty.

Oh, Laura, I’m so proud of you for cutting back on your tomatoes this year. It seems you have always ended up with thirty something every year. A lot of work….and space….to end up giving them away. I’ve noticed lately that you seem to be “working smarter not harder” as the saying goes. Just little things here and there that make a difference. I’m glad you’re feeling less pressure. Planting tomatoes in the rose garden instead of roses when you’re not sure what you’re going to do about the rose spacing is such a good idea. You have a lot more property and a lot of projects. It’s good to see you going with the flow and relaxing a bit with all that’s going on. You love what you do and you are fortunate to be able to do what you love for a job. Relaxing with the process is a game changer. Kudos. 👍🌺🥰

In Atlanta here and already ran into five copperheads since I started planting in early April! That's the most I've ever found in my yard. They were babies, but found in all different areas, which makes me a little bit nervous. Like they've surrounded us! And already nursed a few mosquito and spider bites... When I see Laura putting her bare hands into places I hold my breath often! The good news is, my five year old blueberry bushes are FILLED with berries right now! Usually the deer get them. Not sure why this year, perhaps my neighbor's getting all the visitors. And Rhonda, I've only had to water my garden once in the last five weeks, the rain's been fantastic here.

"Their roots are sensitive to rotting, and if they spend any amount of time in wet soil, they can be set back or even die. Most of the time, if you lose a butterfly bush after winter, it wasn't due to low temperatures or snow or ice - it was because the plant sat in cold, wet soil in fall or spring." Proven Winners

@@angelarios8305I don’t think the sponsors had anything to do with it. Laura is free to plant what she likes. I think it’s more about space and time management this year. The dream stream is being installed in October. Plus, last year she had to be really careful of black widows in the open field patch so the kids couldn’t be quite as involved. If she takes a breather this year then next year she’ll find a space because she does love to grow them.

I have gone into "the archives " and binge watched most of the available videos from the start... boy, what a transformation your property (and your lives) has taken through the years.♡ The Surefire Rose Begonias are going to be stunning in their spot under the trees. As you were planting, I could envision the black benches on the opposite side along the pathway... maybe with a simple pot of Surefires and Dichondra Silverfalls combo on each side of each bench? ♡

Last year I put just 4 vista bubblegum in a 10 x 25 space and they were soooo vigorous they ate the rose bushes behind them and the African daisies and lemon coral sedum in front of them! So this year I planted 3 and will prune them regularly. On another more protected space, they wintered over and have been 2 feet high by 4 feet wide for a month already. I’ve trimmed them weekly to keep them from climbing the roses and alliums, and covering over the alyssum at the edges.

Laura for the future you might consider an edible landscape project. Demonstrate how to incorporate edibles into existing ornamental gardens. Not everyone has space or the inclination to have a dedicated vegetable garden but a lot of people would love to have fresh tomatoes, squash etc. They just don't know how to pair the two together. Demonstrate the beauty of artichoke foliage, tomatoes on ornamental trellising, squash and zucchini leaf contrast against the ornamental plantings. Just a thought. Love the show.

Laura, you could market yourself as an efficiency expert! I am just as fascinated by how you set up your process as what you plant and why. Today it was how you took all the begonias out of their containers at the gator and put them in the cardboard tray and planted them from that. Simple step but, in my eyes, genius! No plastic containers to deal with as you’re planting! And you do this ALL the time and I love seeing it. It jives with my love of order and, well, efficiency. I’ve been watching you and Aaron since townhouse days. You are in my morning routine and ALWAYS give me new, great ideas. I have to say that not only do I feel such a deep gratitude for your happy, healthy KZread offerings, but I also feel an abiding affection for you and your family. Thanks! Thanks! Thanks! ❤ PS you posted something on Instagram not too long ago where Benjamin and Samantha Grace were pulling weeds instead of helping you bake brownies, and I could listen to Samantha Grace say Benjamin‘s name 1 million times and it wouldn’t be too many. So Flippin adorable. 😂❤😂❤

I was surprised that I had never thought about taking the plants out of their containers and taking them to their new home. I've always disliked having to corral those wind blown plastic containers at the planting site.

I got a little nostalgic while you were laying out the plants for the gorgeous weather the US can lay on…whether in the Spring or the Autumn. I’m hanging out for some warmer weather in the next few days. I’m coming from New Zealand to Wisconsin…I need to warm up my internal furnace, I can’t wait 😊

Those bubblegum petunias will be stunning! I always love to see the huge drifts of color in your garden. Question: how do you water the annuals if they are in the same bed as the shrubs and trees? Are they on the same zone? I have always thought I had to water trees/shrubs less frequently but deeply making me feel like I couldn't have annuals too. How do you handle the different needs in water?

Putting mangaves in those urns on the west side garden would be beautiful and very structurally interesting. You wouldn’t need to worry about clashing colors either. Maybe if you have space you can underplant it with lemon coral sedum.

Do you have pumpkin patches in your area? In the Midwest they are a huge attraction. Basically mini amusement parks. You get to go out to the fields and pick your own pumpkins and there is usually homemade food at a food stand, stuff for the kids to play on, corn maze, etc. It's a great way to go get your pumpkins.

Glad to hear its ok to amend the soil annually in containers instead of replacing it unless you've had an infestation..Thats something I've always felt was ok but it made me feel better hearing you say it is was ok..Lol If you have big containers that can be quite the task!!

Great video! I would be tempted to move away from annuals underneath the Red Point Maple trees, maybe more shade perennials. Just keeping it to a few plants repeated down the way. Smaller hosta, lungwart, ferns etc.
