    You can shove that ‘work because you’re scared’ stuff up ya arse. I was a junkie criming full time for 10yrs. Waking up and getting a job saved my life, got me off the gear and stopped me ruining mine and other people’s lives. I know that I’ll probably never be rich or own my own house, but I’ll never regret my decision to man up and change my life, staying in the life I was in would’ve been way easier. Been clean for 16 and a half years now and NEVER going back to that life, no matter how much of a struggle it is. I ain’t working because I’m scared, I’m doing it because I don’t want to be a piece of sht anymore.

    i dont work cause im scared bro. I work to provide a better life for my family, so my kids dont miss out. Isn't this why you went straight? Even though i basically live in the same hood i grew up in, just on the other side of the river i know i've done right by my kids.... The misses and i worked our asses of for year as casuals with no holidays to get our mortgage just to provide somewhere stable for our kids. My son is 18 next year, and in 4 months he'll already be doing better than i was at his age. He going to graduate high school, i didn't. I guess you are right. I was working because i was scared, i was scared of letting down my kids and not being there for them, just like dad. But i stayed, i provided. i'd do it all again in a heartbeat.

The snobs who watch these videos and mock these people can get lost. Spanian is going in and showing people the reality, he is helping these mocked people feel pride, the message is clear, they are good people and if society was less corrupt and concerned with serving only the rich, judging these people and out casting them, we could benefit from their inclusion.

That bloke that owned the gym an got into power lifting in jail, THAT is inspiring, THAT is a real G who has direction an his shit together. Love ya Spanian but your message in this one wasn't it brother. We all know there are good and bad parts of society, but letting 12 year olds run around with knives and breaking into houses isn't Aussie culture, it's a bunch of fatherless kids who will grow up raising another generation of fatherless kids

    From what i seen those comments spanian is calling out made up a good 75%. Which means a fair majority of his KZread community didnt like the direction of the "Logan" style videos. Now to tell a fair majority of your community "if you don't like it f-off" is very ballsy but also very dumb. We've seen many a KZreadr go down this path and many of their channels fell off dramatically. Lets not forget clicks from that fair majority is what pays his bills. Also going to a suburb and filming to make money isnt building up the community its profiting off them so lets not pretend he is some messiah. The fact he thinks that tells me its all gone to his head. Anyways good luck hopefully history doesn't repeat itself with this channel.

    I dont agree that being a bogan, doing burn outs and being a deviant is the Australian or Tasmanian culture. I grew up poor but not realising that i was because my parents used all their money they worked for to ensure we had a roof over our head and an education. I watch these because im Australian and i have a connection to the places you visit to some degree as this place is my home. I grew up in Campbelltown, a misunderstood place with a bad reputation but actually not that bad. I felt safe walking to the shops. I didnt feel safe walking alone in Airds. I dont think thats a culture to be proud of. I dont really judge the people who are in your videos, they are just kids mostly, excited to see someone they admire and maybe get on youtube. They are just being silly. They are victims of circumstance and environment. But i dont agree with encouraging behaviour that can lead the youth into the juvie system and into the jail system because "culture".

    But it is a subculture you can go just about anywhere in Australia and see growing, and have been able to at least since I was a teen in the '00s. I don't think you can deny that general society since then has only gone in a direction that disenfranchises the kids on the fringes more and more until you wind up with these practically uniformed comrade bands with a disdain for every part of society they're not included in. The more socially-accepted development aspects of Australian culture are driving this. I live not too far from where Spanian got off the bus and can vouch for Moonah getting a good dose of attempted gentrification and associated pushback as you can buy the worst $7 coffee you've ever experienced a stone's throw from adlays skipping school to start fires in the public toilet block. I want to agree it's not a great subculture to encourage but the more the rest of society tries to regulate what's accepted and proper while *intentionally* pushing the underclasses into the kinds of financial stresses (e.g. housing costs doubling here in a decade) that reverberate through families into the youth, the worse things are going to get.

    No, Spanian, that's not my culture. Lived in Hobart for 6 years while I was going to university and getting my degree. I lived in West Moonah during that time, and the people I saw and associated with didn't look like cooked units. Those people are not the culture. Those are people who need to break the cycle - Tasmania has some of the worst education rates in Australia. Instead of embracing their boganhood, maybe they should work on making better lives for themselves. I worked at BWS in those parts, and the amount of shoplifters we would have would make Melbourne and other areas look good in comparison. Be the change.

I watch these kids gather and cried unashamedly because they are now 4th and 5th generation unemployed, stuck out in the middle of nowhere with no one really understanding or caring. When no one has hope for you how can you have hope in yourself? Walking in Bridgewater the boys start calling the name of a gang leader who gang bashed my son recently and my empathy is still in tact, but not many people truly understand these areas and the products of their environment. We need to do better and that starts with decent housing in areas closer to services, no more “slums”. You did however fail to mention there was other altercations with police in Bridgewater at covehill, it wasn’t isolated to gagebrook. @Lishen-rh8mp those of us whose ancestors were of European descent are actually descended from convicts who were actually convicted for petty crimes like stealing a hanky. My own ancestors were convicted for stealing food and clothes. 1 was a 16 year old girl who was sentenced to 7 years labour. The war was between the indigenous Australians and the first fleet. They also took the children, which is called the stolen generation. Most of us who have European ancestors who were convicts were also taken from their homeland and bought to a foreign land, of which they had no control, and they were forced into hard labour. During the time that this happened (1849 for my own ancestors), there were no such things as government payments, and if the husband fell ill and couldn't work, the family didn't eat. They did what they could to survive. The information is all there in the archives. Look it up. He wasn't incorrect at all, and that was my point.

I also grew up in a rough area, had a drug problem and watched most of my mates turn into deadshits or end up in jail. I moved out of the area, studied, got a good job and got myself clean. Working a 9-5 to better yourself isn’t being “scared”, in fact it takes a hell of a lot more courage to break the cycle than to normalise suffering and blame everyone and everything for your failings in life.

Now life is quite stable I live in a safer nice area I’m paying off a mortgage and I live a peaceful life and home. I have to say from my experience in my opinion I do not like any videos promoting young people playing up doing the wrong thing to be cool to be something to be proud of to blame and not take responsibility. What I really love about this video so far I haven’t watched until the end but what I love is seeing the knowledge the intelligence in a lot of these people these men, I love seeing others really care about community being a good example by sharing their experiences and their strength and resilience through change and overcoming, speaking with wisdom and wanting The environment and community to be a better place doing something about it and I would love to see that promoted more and getting together in community bringing culture back spirituality you know , promoting to come together in community to help make the environment a better place in for the future that you know that sort of stuff I can’t say the best words but I’m sure people will hopefully know what I mean for the better 🤷‍♀️💜🙌🏼

    Cool video but the lack of trains has nothing to do with “wanting to keep people in their suburbs”. It’s just never been financially viable or even needed. I mean, if the busses are canceled due to violence, what’s the point of a train system?

  • @turul44

    @turul44

    Dunno about that mate. A train system would immediately interconnect everyone in a 100% easier way. Dont see how it wouldn't be financially viable, surely 90% of people would rather a faster way of travel with how stupid the logistics of the roads are, bottle necking and shit and the horrible drivers.
