He is IMO a legit lolcow. I have been following DSP for quite a long time and I see a lot of similarities between Harman and Phil even more so with how they both argue and dismiss any opinion aside from their own.

Harmen never got over the ps1 dominating in 94 & this is how we got here today still wishing for Nintendo monopoly, also I didn’t think joe would hit me with the little free market part…… I’m not complaining

Yeah, the N64 sold well (aside from the DD), but it is humbled by the numbers of the PS1. Harmon probably has a panic attack whenever he's reminded of how poorly the Gamecube sold compared to the PS2.

The Switch has tons of issues running it's own Zelda games, and he thinks it can handle Elden Ring? C'mon, dude.

So he's going to ingore that most games operate in budget without issue because Forspoken was overbudget? Now that's the entirety of the gaming industry. This man isn't just a clown. He's the whole damn circus.

So if anyone is curious: The Final Fantasy 16 thing isn't "it can't run on a gaming PC" because luckily even Square Enix execs are not THAT stupid. The quote was about how the PC version will not be available 6 months after the PS5 version, which was what was assumed, due to the standard 6 months exclusivity deal Sony has. The guy in charge of the game does want it on PC, but he's basically explained himself saying the PC port probably won't be ready that soon after the PS5 version comes out as they've put all their energy into developing it for that one console. I imagine it'll come to PC like other FF games have, it'll just take some time, probably a year if FF 15 is anything to go by. *shrug* I can wait cause I don't have 600 bucks to buy a PS5 (nor do I really want to). PS: Fatal Frame 4 (and 5) is on PC so um... not an exclusive. Sorry Harman. :P Then again, this is the guy who says Switch emulators don't exist.

Not only that, but Microsoft makes it very easy and cheap for devs to make games for the new Xbox consoles. For like $10 you can turn your retail Xbox Series console into a dev kit and you can officially port your games and software to it. As far as I know a Nintendo Switch dev kit coming from Nintendo directly costs around $400 or $500. Yeah, if I were a developer who wanted the most affordable option, I’m going with an Xbox Series S for $300 and then paying an extra $10 for access to dev mode rather than paying $400+ for a vastly less powerful system.

By his logic, Nintendo should go all in on mobile.

I have a better idea. Nintendo could do what Microsft and Sony are already doing and port games to PC. They could set up their own PC storefront, I don't care. It's easy money for them. Yeah I wouldn't be surprised I know they plan on putting it on the PS4 and XB1 I'm playing i ton PC and i tdoesn' talways run perfectly here at times when it runs i truns nice but it does have a tendenc yt ocras hon my system and my PC's no slouch as I bought it with being able t okeep up wit hthe PS5 and series X in mind and does have things like an RTX card at it's disposal. It's no tthe mos tpowerfu.l one as it's the 2070 but it still performs pretty solid but seeing as I think the switch I believe is even weaker than last gen being a hybrid I think it's likely as Hogwarts is quite demanding and I can see why while playing it as the open world looks prett yincredible. Hairan dcloth physic aer definitely next ge nlevel as I lk eth ewa yhair and ou rrobes flap a lot in th ewin do rwhen we're flying on ou rbrooms and all of that and the combat is a lot of fun as well in the game. I enjoyed m yfirst run a lot an djust las tnight started my 2nd run of the game playing as a Hufflepuff this time as I did Ravenclaw first time around. I would even argue tha tHogwarts is probably evenat least on pa rwith Guerrilla's Horizon games. I can' tspeak fo rForbidden West as I've not played it but I certainl yfeel havin gplayed both it's on par with Zero Dawn at least

@@Swaggernaut_X Oh, absolutely. It also helps I’ve grown up on Playstation as well, and I mostly game on PC nowadays. I still love Nintendo (thank God it isn’t as blind as Harman’s), so much that I wish they’d step their game up with the next console, namely better hardware and better controllers. Because if I’m being honest, the Joy-Cons, even beyond their drift, aren’t very good controllers for precise gameplay like with platformers or shooters. And if the length of Nintendo’s recent exclusives are proving to me one thing, it’s that even Nintendo themselves are struggling with the Switch’s hardware to the point where they can’t make games that take longer to 100%. That, and I’d just wish the hardware gets good enough to where they return to the 60 FPS gold standard, because it’s shocking to me how many games during the PS2/Gamecube era were 60 FPS (at least until the end of their lifespans), only for it all to be abandoned because ‘muh cinematics.’ Being blunt, I’d rather play a game that looks like shit, but runs smooth as butter, then a game that looks smooth as butter, but runs like shit.

I remember when I got Elden Ring. Had an entry level prebuilt pc with 8gb ram, ryzen 5 2600 and a gtx 1060 3gb. It still makes the switch I bought to play games with my girlfriend and my son into its little personal bedroom twink. ER would be so amazingly bad on switch. After I got a promotion I bought a laptop (because sometimes I need to travel for work and do some stuff on the run) with 16gb ram, ryzen 7 6800H and rtx 3070. It is night and day. Anything I play is just the best thing ever. It is interesting also since it uses exchangeable parts. Sure the gpu is a 3070 mobile so an upgrade, if it ever comes to that, will have to be specifically ordered from nvidia, but everything else is just standard stuff to take out and replace.

I remember the Gamecube generation, it had some nice exclusives but was much weaker then its Xbox and Ps counterparts so buying 3rd party games were not worth it. It feels to me that Nintendo is doing it's own race there is the console war between PlayStation vs Xbox and Nintendo sitting in a corner playing with Mario. Most people I knew with Nintendo consoles also had a Ps/Xbox. Nintendo first party games look great on the Switch like Mario and Smash but even older third party games run like arse on the system.
