Thanks :) Actually ICR2 is kinda forgiving when it comes to sliding like that, pretty easy to correct when you get used to it.

Thats a bummer, i've had a few things like that happen before but never while online. I'm not sure what caused you to "explode", possibly a seam in the track model or a contact with the AI. But after your car had its physics explosion the numbers it calculated for what happened were too large for the game to handle which is what caused it to crash. One of the joys of an old game i guess...

Yeah this was the second time I had this. The first one was offline when I was practicing for this race but it was on a different part of the track, I was all by myself and driving on the racing line so I don't know about a seam in the track. Hopefully it's just Surfers.... And I did have a similar incident in ICR1 as well. I remember I was exiting the pits when my car exploded similarly. Don't remember which track but it was obviously vanilla.

Just had chance to see the race. Nice drive, shame about the Game Crash but good idea you had to replace it with the little 6 lap race. Got that win in the bag!! Thanks for the stream, good background watch whilst working today.

That frame rate is sweet! I remember Papyrus' fist Indy and Nascar games really stressing my 486/DX2-66 😄

This is exactly why I'm afraid to live stream. And for all the talk about Paul Tracy's change of fortune, Michael Andretti had one too. When you did that scoring rundown, it said he was out.

Yeah it was a major bummer the game crashed, kinda sucked the joy out of it :( Oh well, it is what it is, first time I had an any issue like this during a live stream and I've done quite a few so it's bound to happen at some point.

I play a TON of icr2 and I don't know if it's OK to say that aftermarket tracks crash more than default tracks. I seem to get the occasional crash on both aftermarket and default tracks. It does not happen often. Recently I did a 100% length race at Surfers and was in the lead just like you- then with about 2 laps to go it went yellow, and I had suspension failure on the final lap (under yellow)!

Sorry for the late answer. But thanks for the info. I'm new to ICR2 and so far I haven't had a lot of issues with crashes. Of course it had to happen while streaming :D

i wish iRacing would make Surfers Paradise...

Is this Villeneuve guy the IRC 2's knock off version of the great driver John Newhouse?

I heard John Newhouse refused to give his name to Papyrus so we'll have to settle for this guy now.

And Bang came and won. Congrats for your first win. It seems you adapted very well in street tracks. Let's see how is going on oval and speedways. Best for you Bang. PS: Wow, that pole position was insane.

Thanks Federico! Will be very interesting to see how the oval races work, thankfully the AI is million times better than in ICR1 :D

Hi guys, perhaps you may think interesting to try DOSBox-X 0.83.22, which has a "Load/Save State" option. At least it's possible to avoid this crashes confusion. I tested this with Cart Racing and it works very well! 🙂

Thanks for the tip! I'll give it a go. Do you know it the "deadzone = "0" line works in DOSBox-X if you add it into the configuration file (joystick settings). It works with DOSBox ECE but not with other versions I've tried so far.

@@TedMeat I just checked with my old Microsoft Sidewinder and it looked very well in the calibration screen, without deadzones. It did not required the command "deadzone = 0", but if you add this into the configuration file, it will work anyway. Then I compared with DosBox-ECE using "deadzone = 0" and "deadzone = 10". In the second case, a considerable lack of sensibility around the center appeared. So, I think it may work well for you too.

Yes. This really really really really sucked :D

It was just a red flag and a race restart, nothing special. :) Maybe hex-edit the save file to change the points according to the original standings. :D

Of course, why didn't I think of the red flag :D I know it's bummer for immersion but I think we'll keep these results. I'd need to learn how to hex-edit (doable I'm sure) but also I only know the top-5 of the results before the crash.

@@TedMeat At one point someone asked you to scroll through the standings. It could’ve changed but it would still be more representative than a completely new race seeing how random their performance is. Just an idea, it’s okay if you don’t do it. :D
