    Good job. After the front wing damage I thought that the race was done. But luckily the team crew were able to fix it and you got the speed back. Seems that you had very balanced setup for the race.

    I have Windows Vista, as I mentioned in my last comment, and the game runs perfectly on that. However, there are issues. I now have no Internet access for Vista, which means I can't download any mods for this game. Furthermore, I can't set up my racing wheel either as I have no internet access ( it is a very old packard bell desktop running Windows Vista). I do have a Windows 11 laptop, but I don't know how to run this game on that.

    Pace deficit from pre-qualifying pole: Phoenix: 104.45% Interlagos: 106.45% Imola: 107.65% Conclusion - How the hell are we less competitive despite of the upgrades?? We are loosing the development race!

    Thanks for the stats, not looking too good :D Although, Phoenix is a slow street course, for Interlagos you need more power and for Imola even more. Seems the engine power is a huge problem, the 20 more bhp we got in development is not nearly enough. Monaco will be super interesting though!

    I did setup work, but less than I'd normally do. Trying to "simulate" the lack of resources and testing of Coloni team and I only give myself the friday free practice to setup the car. The idea behind the gears was to have a bit of extra on 6th in case I'd get to do some slipstreaming, but obviously that failed. Also tried lower rear wing but the car became impossible to drive :/

    The engine in the back of this ''car'' sounds like the Honda V10 McLaren had during that season. Once again, that was a brutal prequalifying session. At least, you could take Tamburello and Villeneuve flat out. For the rest, ouch. Horrendous car. Oversteer and understeer in the same lap, depending of where you were on the circuit, inefficient under breaking and lacking engine power. The total package or almost for a massive struggle.

  • @TedMeat
    @TedMeat14 күн бұрын

    Yes, a horrible car :D And thank you for educating me, because I've always thought Honda had V12s in 1990, but apparently they changed to V12 for the 1991 season. Was kinda hard to find an appropriate engine sound for the Subaru flat 12 and the sound is of Honda V10 from 1989 so you were pretty damn close :D

  • @ianst-onge2010
    @ianst-onge201013 күн бұрын

    @@TedMeat I believe McLaren tried a Honda V12 during a testing session held on the Silverstone circuit in the summer of 1990 only on Ayrton Senna's car. After that season, Honda fully commited to a V12 engine for 1991. Great sound(both their V10 and V12).

    Ted why don’t you change those invisible car teams to “0” for Power in GP2Edit? I’ve just tried this as a quick test and they don’t have any power to leave the pit box - they’ll not set a lap time at all.

  • @TedMeat
    @TedMeat26 күн бұрын

    Yep, that's true. But then that causes most of the "real drivers" not going to the track at all and then they don't get times on the table. I guess it's because even the invisible cars don't seem to move, the game still counts them going out (they're just not moving because 0 power) and there's some sort of a limit of how many cars can be on the track at the same time. I've tried to find a way to change this limit in the editors but no luck so far.

    "I have to go defen-SIII!!-ve" has to be one of your best comments ever. To be included in every promo or other Bang material. Would be an instant meme, were you a mass influencer! But then you repeat it: "shoud I just go in and take..." BONG! "...inters?" I don't know if you'll do another GP4 season but I'd love to watch more GP4 wet races. I also think the AI gets overpowered in the wet but I believe there's room for improvement. What I mean is I never saw a human driver taming the GP4 AI in the wet but I think it's possible. You should go for the Schumacher approach. This is seldom acknowledged and never discussed. Before Spain 1996 Schumi was not the Regenmeister. Yes, he impressed in Spain 91 and 92. He won in changing conditions in Belgium 92 and Nurburg 95. But in other races wasn't that special (like Japan 93). He crashed out of Donington, Imola 95 and Monaco 96. I think once I read (but I'm not sure) that after the Monaco 96 1st lap débâcle (a likely win thrown away), he changed approach immediately. From there, it seemed like every time there was a chance of rain, Schumi would bet on making the car perfect for wet. Setups and tyres. And then it started: Spain 96, Monaco 97, Belgium 97, Britain 98, and other minors, I think, like Nurburgring 00. Only in Brasil 03 the bad luck returned. I think Bang should do the same. Risk of rain? Put the setup with soft springs and etc. (You do a lot better than me by now, especially in GP4!). And go for wet tyres. Risk of monsoon? Go for monsoon tyres. The race start was a tough call and, even if soft wets might have been better, I think covering the risk for degrading was reasonable. But at your pit stop the track was so wet that "slicks" had to be the worst of the 3 options! Unless you were trying to do a Senna Spa 92 thing, but that backfired on Senna! I was hoping you'd choose inters and maybe go for a short 2nd stint, like 15 or even 10 laps, do a banzai stint like Schumacher in Hungary 98, and gamble on going for dry hards for a final long stint and take it to the end. Even wet softs would have been better than drys. Yes, the track dried out kind of quickly, but the risk of crashing in a wet track was just too big. Even if 15 laps on inters were to much, you would have been be quick and safe in the meantime. So, I say: avoid risks, gamble on safety and on going to the pits and then aggressively getting back on the perfect tyres. Remember that Prost pitted 7 times in Donington and yet he got a podium! Let's make this our Monaco 96 moment and get back to work!

  • @TedMeat
    @TedMeatАй бұрын

    Thanks for the tips mate! I think my approach will be a lot like that in the future, i'll just forget about tyre wear and what the pit crew says and go for max grip all the time :)
