Sadly it’s the worlds we live in today’s, peoples are only looking for something to bitch about, just saying I’m a man of 54 years, and at the grocery stores I saw a woman who wants to get out of the stores with 2 bags of groceries in her hands, I simply open the door for her to pass thru ( didn’t even say a words) and instead of telling me thanks, she started an whole speech about equality, and that she didn’t need help from me, my jaw just dropped to the floor, I was so stunned of her reaction that I don’t remember half of what she said, but I remember she even threaten to get me arrested, I know it’s absolutely stupid but today with the laws all crooked???, but what in hell could she have eaten to react like this when I simply open a door to help her ?, that’s the worlds of today’s, the future looks very dark, so a little place outside city’s look really like the way to go now.

Best looking shipping container home I've ever seen
Me living in the Waikato New Zealand thinking, is there anything good comes out of the Waikato. Next minute: BOOM 💥💥💥!!! Shipping container home. ❤️❤️ ❤️
Glass sectional door, and the main garage door were manufactured and installed by Glideaway Doors. Looking great!
I wish people that deserve this could live in a house like this:’-)
This house was on tv earlier in the year but wasnt fully completed after the show. It looks amazing! and in black, green did not suit it at all. Glad the couple changed there minds 😁👍

I would love to see this with composite paneling on the inside/outside, and some form of fiber cement, or whatever aesthetic people like that’s not only fireproof, but adds to the insulation
The BEST house yet.
Sea freight containers are very prone to rust particularly under floor supports and roofs. They will need very expensive paint coatings for rust protection, these paints are often quite toxic. There maybe ways to avoid rust with low toxicity options but they are not a magic solution. Much of the costs to make them habitable foundations, roof, cladding or lining, wiring, plumbing, fittings and furnishings means the container saves the cost of some framing. They are a good instant lock up for storage but still need a roof and insulation otherwise the become leaky ovens.
I'm not big money but would like something similar as a ranch style using four containers with a three car garage. (no pool just a nice out door deck with a fire pit and cooking grill)

"Zipping n Full stack" comments are nuts. These are typically 30% cheaper and they are rustproof as the guy mentioned in description. Don't be fooled, container homes are the real deal. This one is among the best I've seen in a while. I've been studying this topic for years. I'd go on but I'm busy. Give it some thought and find a builder that has been through the process, it'll help...

Should make a custom TV fold down in the master bed room . Like it lays flat on the roof of the room then folds down when you push a button
You should have put the pool on top of the house means more money 💰 💡😎
It looks so serene throughout the entire property. What a beautiful house. 🙂

Absolutely beautiful
The house is incredible but it more looks like a workplace or some sort of show room in a way.
I deal in buying, selling, and leasing containers. It would have been far cheaper to build a stick or block built house with the exact same furnishings. People seem to think that building out containers, which takes an outrageous amount of engineering, vapor and moisture guarding, insulating, and stabilizing work to make them even remotely livable, is somehow a smart or cost efficient move... Build a real house...

@KingOfPlastics
3 жыл бұрын
@@F_Dot_ on average a shipping container, assuming they are new[and they kinda need to be],will run you 4-6k ea. This uses 12 so let's call it 50k. Then theres framing, insulating and vapor guarding, which requires lumber, barrier film and insulation( commonly sprayed), depending on time of the year, lumber fluctuates. In example we started the year at around 600 per thousand, and it kept at one point to 1000 per 1000. Then you have cladding (drywall, particle board, etc) and that's just to make it look like a building. And we havent even talked about zoning, special permitting, crane services, labor, engineering and so on. Then you have all the furnishings. If I were to assign a cost of build, start to finish, I would say the house itself cost somewhere around 450k- 600k conservatively. 3 times the amount of time to construct.
Great!
Very nice👍👍❤

Why,. Because they are vague. A steel building would be so much better. You aren't confined by the container. Ever hole you see in that container had to be reenforced with steel beams. Total waste of resources. Let's make a container and modify it, instead of just making what you want the first time.

@catfan5756

@@kathleenwhite890 they don't reuse old containers. There is no way to tell what it transported. Plus there is a shortage of containers these days. Read an article about how it is going to affect the shipping of hardwood pulp, used to make toilet paper. Not to mention that every cut into a container requires it to be structurally supported. This type of building while cool, is a massive waste of resources. I hope you can enjoy it for want it is, just remember it's a boondoggle and a gigantic waste.
@ShelterMode Why don’t you ever have live tours? This way we can see the actual size of a space with people in it.

Wow
This is a good example of shipping container house but I am still not convinced it is a sensible way to go. Shipping containers are good for one thing and that is being a shipping container. If you spend the same amount of money on standard construction how much house would you have? I reckon you would end up with a house the same size and a lot less headaches along the way. Also what does this house sound like, with all that metal expanding and contracting? What I will say is the atrium idea with the normal truss roof over was an excellent idea. A eaves over hang on the gable would help to make the house look normal. But if your thinking of going this road please think again. It is not sensible use of money.
very nice work.
It appears to be a beautiful home. It would have been nice to see more than the same 7 pictures, looped over and over.

@@catfan5756 I live in NZ, (expat) and the people here have a severe small country complex and therefore grossly over aggrandize anything here they can. You then get so called architects that will do anything different just for the sake of being different and you end up with hideous buildings like this one. As a kiwi friend said it is hard to underestimate the taste of the average Kiwi. Cheers
Very nice video

great video, but after watching this with my studio monitors, I would suggest getting a pop filter.
How do you deal with the thermal expansion of the steel containers? I've lived in them for work. They can boom and creak during the course of the day.
It maybe cheaper to build a regular wood house but this 1 saves trees 🤔🥲 Plus recycling @ the same time. Not sure why anyone would or could be upset with that. 😂 It's a beautiful Home & I want 1 ASAP. Now if I could just find someone who could help out with Cash to build it.😂
Not bad...well thought out.

How much would it cost me to build my house like this hypothetically?
Hello Sirs I am calling from the banks!
Congratulations, T'challa, nice house!
Can you start posting the drawings
how much did it cost to build? So I can save to have this awesome house
This may be a dumb question.... but can anyone tell me what the steps are to buy land... I’ve notice that most of these videos of couples living off the grid, are also on family property
This is the true way to go a composite of building and containers. How ever I can not see much savings in cost. As most people stick build over the inside . If you stick build on the inside you should just sheath the outside saving the cost of shipping container and it's transport and it's crane renting to position it on site. I keep trying to under stand "Savings" when most frame the inside !?
Hope one day i have same home …and sooner ameen
