In my entire life I've never seen chess domination like this

Ойындар

This is honestly the most INCREDIBLE Speed Chess Championship (SCC) Domination from Magnus Carlsen that I've ever seen in my life. Carlsen destroyed Fabiano Caruana, making chess history as he didn't lose a single chess game to such a strong player as Caruana. Nakamura once did this against Hou Yifan but this was different gravy. Truly stunning from Carlsen, the GOAT.

years ago I have seen the english open with live comments by 2 very strong GMs - they pondered 10 minutes about a position - then found a move that looked good and discussed it for 10 minutes, still not sure if it is a winning move. Magnus has finished his game and came into the room. They asked him how he evaluates the position - he looked at it and in less then 1 second he made the very move and told them that this is winning. His positional understanding is simply not from this world

Been playing Chess since 1969. Not a GM but a huge fan since. Took 3rd place outright in 1985 in my one and only tournament (Wyoming State Open Section). Magnus is without a doubt the greatest World Champion all-time. Many reasons, no debate. Magnus is such a wonderful historical Champion on many fronts. Taking nothing from all others, but Magnus... your exposure, your insouciance, your promotion of Chess... you are without a doubt The Man! I don't think anyone of any credence can argue that.

Love it when Magnus plays the imbalance in the endgame. Rook&bishop vs a queen can be losing or drawn, but very rarely winning. Seeing him find a position with the Rook&Knight vs Queen to win is insane and so much more impressive to accomplish in such time pressure.

If caruana plays that fork, Magnus could take the pawn on f7 with his Bishop, deliver check, then after the king moves, either take the knight on h5 with the queen or the bishop before losing his own knight, ending a pawn up with an exposed king for black. Definitely better for Magnus there.

Of course, the players are stronger and the format is different but it reminded me of the Capablanca - Marshall (1909) Match where Capablanca dominated and Marshall just wanted to win one game to save a "little face". I think Fabi desperately wanted to win just one game but unlike Marshall, he couldn't! Fischer had swept the field in the Candidates Matches run-up to his 72 World Championship victory against Spassky but the Capablanca - Marshall (1909) Match had the same feel to me of 1-on-1 total domination. Marshall was never the same after that crushing defeat I wonder if Caruana will suffer a similar fate?

Sorry for the elementary question, but how are match scores calculated? I'm having trouble finding a good explainer online. Did they play the first two time controls eight times and the last control ten times, with each game scored 0 for a loss, 0.5 for a draw, and 1 for a win? So there were 8 draws and 18 Magnus wins across the match?

Fascinating how Magnus is an extreme CONCEPTUAL chess player. Since there is no ABSOLUTE way to Award Greatest Chess Player 🏆 I would submit that Magnus is the most INTERESTING Chess Player of All time. As a VERY Conceptually oriented person myself *I'm an obsessed Art Theorist with a Unified Field Theory for Art wherein parallels to Chess Theory inevitably occur* I've always been fascinated by Carlsen's self-described Conceptual Chess Orientation. One of the recurring themes for Carlsen *in some all-time great games* is when he Sacrifices his Queen AND then a bit later ends up with a configuration of pieces and pawns that operate like some freakish SINGLE Amorphous Swiss Army Knife CREATURE ... 1. The Feature Game Here 2. Game 6 of the 2021 WCC 3. MY Personal Favorite, A game against Giri in which Carlsen sacrifices the Queen pretty early on for some pieces in one of this past year's on-line rapid tournaments *I think you may have covered this one* Carlsen has amassed so many games that are Absolute Aesthetic Masterpieces ... Also, Carlsen is the Genius that most fully appropriated and incorporated the new ideas 💡 gifted to chess by the A.I. chess entities Invariably the Chess GOATS are CONCEPTUAL MONSTERS ... Magnus just happens to be my pick for the BIGGEST CHESS CONCEPTUAL MONSTER🏆 .. it even seems he used this talent to score a number one ranking in the Premier League Fantasy Football ⚽ Firouzja strikes me as someone from that Same PLANET 👑 AF and perhaps some of the other young players ... perhaps ..
