These games simply took my breath AWAY. Beyond stunning. The other giants just need to form an orderly queue. GOAT .. no hyperbole whatsoever. Simply the truth.
how ironic that White's king ended up being in a worse position than Magnus' King - end game brilliance
This is not the first time Magnus has done an interesting queen for ~9 points of material trade, he's so amazingly expert at harmonizing the pieces afterward and making it impossible for the opponent to do anything about it. Massive respect to Jeffrey Xiong.
Great game, amazing commentary. I like that you don't get lost in variations. Best new chess channel for sure.

Getting advantage , a Queen and playing brilliant attacking chess and suddenly magnus' pieces magically present in such harmony . What a a structure. The pawn f6 or h6 that cut off the Queen from the game !!! Wow

Great video mate! Just a little tip you might want to consider - as you are in a small space for your recordings, it is quite a reverberant space - with lots of echos. If you stick up some acoustic panels on the walls your voice will come out much more soothing :). It doesn't need to be an expensive operation, they can be DIY'ed quite cheaply. When I first setup my space I had the same challenges. Hope this helps :)

I'm not trying to be a jerk (because I really do appreciate the videos you record for us), but nothing is more fun than watching Kasparov blunder. Magnus had no business winning that game. Like.. at all. Jiang Zemin queened a pawn like 10 moves before Magnus and it didn't even matter because Magnus stirred up his hodgepodge of comparably stupid pieces and somehow spun up a queen. Unreal.

Your understanding of chess is very good, but your understanding of time in chess isn't. The thing is, Magnus has always been one of the greatest player alongside Hikaru in time scrambles, so while you talk about this game, I particular you shall consider how the two players were very low in time, yet somehow able to find most of the best moves, so I don't know am I missing here? Like seriously 🙄

@@Philiopantheon82 the main thing you’re missing is one of the oldest comedy devices known to civilization: pretending to be stupid. See Ali G for a prominent example of this, although half the Monty Python sketches fit too. It’s been around since (at least) the ancient Greeks. You typically need an expert understanding of something to come up with a comment as intentionally dumb as mine. In short, the main thing you’re missing is the fact that you’re replying to a joke.

If Qa5 instead of Qa3 at 10:40 -- Jeffery forks the rook and knight. If Magnus saves the rook, the knight is gone with check unless he defends with Ra2 and then Jeffery goes Qa3 and he loses the rook anyway.

NOT True. Bobby Fischer was an absolute Juggernaut from 1970- 72. He beat Petrosian 3-1 (+2 =2) in USSR vs Rest of the World match in Belgrade. He won the unofficial World Blitz Ch in Herceg Novi w/19-3, 4.5 pts ahead of Tal! He won Rovinj-Zagreb 1970 w/13-4 score, 2pt ahead of field! He won Buenos Aires w/15-2, 3 5 pts ahead of field! He played in Seigen Olympiad, scoring 10-3 (+8,-1,=4 losng to World Champion Spassky). Then he won Palma de Majorca Interzonal w/18.5-4.5, 3.5 pts ahead of field!! In 1971 Candidates matches Fischer 'steamrolled' Taimanov and Larsen 6-0 and 6-0 and Petrosian 6.5-2.5 !! We all know what happened in 1972.

True but I believe the ideas that modern players now show are like nothing ever, at times, but then they stand on the shoulder of greats, each generation learning from the previous. But fully respect and agree with your comment that Bobby is the GOAT of his era, however Magnus now eclipses him for me personally, Garry third, problem with Bobby is he didn't cement his legacy by being World Champ for decade+ like he could have been

There are plenty of chess channels that have just video of games. You know what tournament is and who played whom, so just look for it.
What's wonderful about your content is it entirely focuses on the game of chess and I'm not saying you don't have a wonderful personality but these videos are easy to watch while you're not trying to be a 'KZread Personality'. Its easy, and non-polarizing. I know it sounds weird, but so many content creators want a following if that makes sense. Anyways, great video, thank you for the content!
