Dude, I saw a sneak peak in I Like Watch's teaser video today, So i blindly purchased this exact one. Grean dial, PT5000 movement. So glad it turns out to be a stunner. I have always had the same issue with the PT5000, but it's a 100 bucks cheaper and I'm not getting an SW200 in a chinese watch when the PT5000 keep times just as well and the watch on the whole looks fantastic. Thanks for the review! Makes me look forward to the watch even more!

I know everyone seems to complain about butterfly clasps but I really love they way they look and the way they fit closely to my wrist. Clunky clasps always annoy me when I'm typing. I never fell in love with a watch this fast. I never really considered the IWC since it's way out of my price range, but a few days ago I came across this and it looks really nice from all the video reviews. I ordered one in black with the newer cross/flower logo last night for 220 shipped which seems like a pretty good deal. Can't wait to get it.

I bought one. The watch looks fantastic

Just got mine today. Super pleased with the fit and finish. It's funny. I saw the watch on offer and liked the design, but I did not know it was a IWC design. Guess I don't pay much attention to new releases in the 10k+ range. It wasn't until after I pulled the trigger that I realized. I bought the blue also.

Yes, it's a combination of two issues. The winding resistance is quite stiff, and the threads for the crown add grittiness. I have one other pt5000 model. It winds a bit firm, but the crown threading is better. The rest of the package is so outstanding for the money though. Maybe I should have spent the bucks on the Sellita, bc otherwise it's a banger!@@realestwatchreviews

Excellent analysis, comparisons and review, @realestwatchreviews! It sits and fits great on your wrist. Is the San Martin a SN006? Great milsub homage, but 39-40mm and longer lug to lug? This Ingenieur homage seems to be a better size for your wrist, too. Excellent review of the bracelet, since that's critical for this watch for a good fit, since it's staying on the watch.

@@realestwatchreviews An observation or two. The crown is small. Smaller than it should be or needs to be, given the clearance between the crown guards. So there's less mechanical advantage when winding and screwing back in. The movement is stiff to wind, and gets stiffer the more it's wound. The movement maintains its winding mode as you're screwing it in. Not sure that's how it is on other movements. Some do some don't I think, but on this PT, the work around is to only give it 10 or so turns to get'er going, not a full wind. It threads in with decent smoothness with this approach.

And when I thought it couldn’t get worse than “RDUNAE” or “LACZ DENTON”, the Chinese come out with “IXDAO” ! I think they use random words generators and just stop at the first try.

RDUNAE is an abbreviation or acronym for " Rome was not built in a day " 《 in Latin 》 That does not make it a weird watch name but gives it an obscure yet odd meaning. Although I cannot find the correct Latin proverb in Google , so this could be just runour.

Just looking forward to it! Good to hear the bracelet edges are well rounded. What about the butterfly clasp, the buttons and the fold over part, are they sharp?

I don’t feel any sharpness on the butterfly clasp. The corners of the last links are slightly sharp.

The bezel is screwed or just fixed by bolts and about the "antimagnetic" inscription - does this watch have a additional cover on mechanism or it's just a marketing?)

I purchased the black version with the SW200 movement the day before yesterday. A few hours after I ordered the watch, they took down the listing. I messaged them about it to ensure that I would still receive the watch. They responded a few hours later letting me know that I would still get the watch but they had to take down the listing due to an issue with the pattent. Hopefully they will get the issue worked out and list the watch again. The IWC version is way overpriced for what it is so this is a great alternative. I'm not big on purchasing these homage versions as I own several luxury watches. However, this one hits all the sweet spots and I'm looking forward to receiving it. Thanks for the great review, the watch seems to have a great build quality.

Yeah, I've been interested in other KZread watch content maker's thoughts on this one. None appeared. Then I noticed the regular purchasing channels have dropped this piece. So happy I got mine early. Really too bad for other interested folk.

Do you think this would fit ok on a 6 inch wrist? Were there more links that could be removed after fitting it to your 6.5 inch wrist? Thanks and great video!

This is one of the best finished watches I have seen from AE. Nice to see competition!

The finishing looks killer. I wish they would have done a 6 o'clock date without a frame. Would have been almost invisible with that color match.

Half links and 6 o’clock date would be top of the list for the next version. I would also love a Titanium version but that’s wishful thinking!

For a new brand, I rather like their logo. Really hope the one I just ordered has that symbol and not the text of a random Chinese word that really cheapens it in my opinion. I was going to spring for the Eta movement since it was on sale, but it is back ordered, I’m sure the PT movement is just fine though

Will the bracelets made for the IWC like rubber ones, fit this homage?

I do not have other straps to try it, sorry.

I always sand down any sharp edges with 600 sand paper . I often brush any horrid polished bits and now my watches are well finished. Its worth it .

I don’t find that there is enough sharpness to justify sanding down this bracelet. In fact, I find this to be one of the better finished bracelets I have experienced from AE. Just wish they included half links. But, I do have a couple of San Martin bracelets that I should try that on.

Will you purchase the Hroudland version and do a side to side comparison? 🙂

I have not handled the IWC yet.

The bracelet has better articulation than the Specht and Sohne. I would buy it but the name is what's stopping me.

I always run the edges with sandpaper 600. Really fine sandpaper and smooths out all my San Maertins etc As the build quality is so good but Ali Express cannot finish to a 2000 usd standard . But 30 mins and you can .

I expect the Chinese brands will eventually figure out how to improve the finishing and comfort of their bracelets. Even similarly priced Seiko and Citizens don’t have the issue with sharpness. How does the finishing look after you hit it with the sandpaper?

I prefer a brushed finish , so spend a few mins with fine sandpaper 600 and it is great . Keep going until it's comfortable

It doesn't always work, but you can try running some dental floss around the crown threads to remove any debris that might be causing it to feel rough.

Exactly. Use dental floss and Afterwards the a tiny bit of oil, you could get it on there with a q-tip for example. I always do so and it's common practice in watchmaking aswell.

@@CybertroninfiniteOfficial I bet there's a special thicker kind of oil in watch making for that, but I use thin sewing machine kind of oil. But I bet a ton of different oils would work just fine, simply don't use a lot. Get it on a piece of paper or a q-tip first, you really only need a tiny fraction of a drop

i spent summer getting tons of NH35 homage for fun ; usually wore then for 2 weeks before i went to the next one ; one day i was looking around for another 'toy' and they had just put up the listing of this model ; ive been wearing it for over 2.5 mounths now; i cant or dont want to remove it and use another one. as someone who owns a Michel Herbelin Cap Camarat with the sw200 and this with the pt5000.... i am amazed as to how the PT manages to keep time better while being used every day. both look about the asme ; feel the same and to be honest i dont understand why i paid 800+ for the Herbelin when i like the IXDAO far more. after 2+mounths ; -the bracelet has not slackened or angled on the links ( i have many that didnt hold up 3 weeks due to their own weight ) -non of the polished surfaces has scuffed or faded. -as a mecanic ; as long as its not greasy where i work on the car ; i'll keep it on ; its been hit many times ; has no marks and the glass is immaculate. -the dial quality is mind bogling at that price and allways is the first reason ( followed by confort ) i keep it on. -after 2 mounths ; where i only had to adjust date 30>1 .... and the time ( daylight saving change ) i havnt had to fiddle with the crown to much ; but its now butter smooth. -the pseudo harsh or sharp edges are actually not at all sharp ; i have never ever felt like it was an issue ; it actaully feels nice to wear , i even forget to remove it to sleep and never had an issue like other that wake me up and force me to remove them....

Wow! Sounds like you have really put this one to the test. Nice to hear it has been durable. As a mechanic, do you wear the bracelet tight on the wrist or leave some slack? I find that when I am doing physical activity my wrist swells a bit and the Watch feels too tight. Would love to have a half link to wear it slightly loose.

i wear my watches slack ; down side ( or upside ) i get to see real fast if the bracelet can hold its weight and not deform....or even if pins are good quality ; these have actually held up surprisingly well. im really slim and dont swell up nearly as much as ive seen other freinds do just with hot weather. i dont get that kind of reaction and issues with my bracelets/watches. and as soon as i have to wrench too hard and it gets phisical i remove it ; cause as hard and tough as they can be; none will resist a slipage and slaping on a suspension part or frame when loosening rusty bolts.....

By the way it's not just the PT5000... The ETA and the SW200 also have a much stiffer crown when winding. A lot more resistance. They also can suffer from overwinding problems like a regular, old school manual wind watch... Any ETA base movement can actually break if it's overwound. Best not to fully wind these movements manually.

All the PT500s I have tried seem to suffer from this issue so I concur. This one was excessive though. I bought a white dial and it is noticeably less stiff.

That slightly course brushing style is very popular on integrated watches. The Royal oak and Nautilus.... (Like $65,000 or something) both have it. Thanks for the video. I'm ordering one of the new dial options The natural mother of pearl dial in the 11-11 sale... The dark MOP one also looks good, But the colors they tried don't look natural with the mother of pearl underneath.... I think those two are going to bomb Even though they look decent in the photos.... The video they released showed that they don't look good!

I don’t think you will be disappointed. The case and bracelet are very nicely finished. Personally, I like these original dials but the MoPs look good too. Congrats on the purchase!

Most of my San Martin’s have been divers. I did have their 36mm datejust. This IXDAO has impressed me far more than any SM. A big reason may be the design of this watch just has far more interesting details than any SM I have tried. The fit and finish quality of this watch is better than SM. This bracelet is nicer than the SM oyster or jubilee. However, the new SM adjustable clasp is obviously better. In the end, you can’t directly compare this to SM until they homage this watch as well.

Is it blue or turquoise ? as it looks blue not greenish ? please hekp as i have way too many blue watches thabk you

It’s not blue. It’s more like a greenish dark turquoise.

I wouldn't buy it purely because there are no half links. Preferably a normal clasp. Lovely watch and quality, but they got that really wrong
