I received mine since 3 month ago ! Really perfect , precise , beautiful and light !
Nice review. If one were to actually look, you'd notice all the indexes are in a series of 3 three except the first 5 minutes which are 4. I've not found the indexes an issue. I've also found the PT5000 an exceptionally accurate movant. I own three of these watches and once regulated easily run well with in COSC chrono limits. Sharp edges? Yes, off the bracelet there are some obvious sharp edges. But all can also easily be rounded to an acceptable level with just some emery cloth and 10 minutes effort. The bracelet is great as is the minimalist latch. I too would prefer it have a bit more adjustment on the bracelet for a perfect fit. Either way I really like the bracelet and the 21mm lug width. I like this watch enough that I resold a new Tudor 39 after some time with my first IXDAO. Once that was done, I bought 2 more IXDAO and gave one away as a gift. I've owned many Rolexes and Tudors. I'd rate this watch right up there with either as far as function or accuracy are concerned. Adn in titanium? Better than any of my Roles. For the money involved? This watch put the Tudor 39 to shame with just a little elbow grease. I have no issues overlooking the faults on a $240 watch compared to a $5K Tudor. I simply don't see the reasoning behind wearing a Tudor with the IXDAO will do everything the $5K Tudor 39 will.
Thanks for the review. You are one of the most trustworthy reviewers out there. You tell it like it is! Respect.

My pleasure! I spend the money and time so you can be better informed 😉
Great review. I'm glad to see someone finally record the mass of the watch head. As for rotor noises, I have an Octopus Kraken blue that's pretty similar, and it is pretty loud, so I assume that's due to titanium's acoustic characteristics. It also shares the sharpness issues, though I don't have a bracelet (I appreciated that option). The crown on Octopus Kraken is positioned worse, overhanging (underhanging?) the case and digging into the arm somewhat. The movement also arrived faulty, but I just had my watchmaker service it rather than going through a returns process.

Thanks for sharing that infos about the Octopus Kraken. I haven’t handled any watches from them.
I wish they made a 39mm FXD of this watch. That would be sick in my opinion.
I bought some 600 sandpaper to smooth all sharp edges and corners . Now it is a very comfortable wear. I do this to most Ali Express watches , especially San Martin , who have great build quality but the Bracelets are always a bit sharp for me . I would have gone for the Seestern but I have large wrists and it would not fit me. But happy with my IXDAO now I have sanded it.

I also smooth the sharp edge of my Chinese watches. Especially the inner side of the clasp and bracelet 😂
Great review 👍
Great review, mate 👌🏻👌🏻 and no doubt you’ll be rolling in it soon thanks to those links! 🤣 I think the lug width definitely works and I think seeing it side by side with the SM helps illuminate that point nicely. I’ve got a bunch of 20mm straps that, admittedly, I don’t use that much, but I like the option and I do change it up from time to time. Also, I agree on the logo - I really like this but think ‘TIMELESS’ could go too. I have the Seestern equivalent in for review right now and I have the same issue with the crown, and that’s the Seagull ST2130, I think.

Thanks my man! The Seestern was also on my list, but I might skip it. Will wait for v2 for some of these Ti watches. Can’t wait for your review though
That missing marker is all I see now. I was loving the matt black finish and size and hands. Not sure if I like the movement though. Otherwise an amazing looking watch.
I have two PT5000 both run well +2 to 3s per day and no noise from the rotor. Octopus kraken p39 and San Martin deep-sea both titanium. However when these PT5000 goes low in power the accuracy gets bad so need to keep them over 50% and they runs very well. The crown is really gritty on both those as well when unscrewing it.

I didn’t know that about accuracy. Good to know!
I noticed the Tudor pelagos FXD bezels are different between the black and blue models. Some section have 3 hash marks, while some have 4, but all of them had the 4 hash marks at bith side of the "0" at the 12 o clock.
Great review! Love the 3D indices and proportions of the 21mm lugs, but now I can’t unsee that missing bezel lume marker. 🙃

Thanks for another great video. I just bought my first San Martin during the end of summer Ali sale. I got the SN0121g in black, I’ve gotta say that this happened after I watched your review on that watch many times, so thanks for that. About the bezel in the Ixdao, I own the Tactical FXD and I can say that, just from the sound and how it looks when you turned the Ixdao’s bezel that it’s better than the one in the Tactical although the bezel in that watch is bidirectional. Still, I love that watch and I would buy another one over this Ixdao. They’re doing well but still not at the same level as Octopus or Seestern.

Compared this with an equivalent of Seestern or San Martín in titanium what would be the way to go? Thanks for this great review!
@HHWatchReviews

I can compare it to the San Martin SN0121 in titanium. This one feels more “toolish”. It has a darker tone and the titanium looks a bit more raw. The proportions of this watch also look closer to the original, so some might prefer this. The San Martin is a bit more refined and a bit smaller looking.
Having this watch, and the Seestern and the steel SM, I think the IXDAO is doing quite well! I really like the fact its dimensions and especially the bracelet is so close to the original (I'm tired of SM throwing its oyster bracelet on any watch). The bezel is far better than the Tactical Frog's FXD. Mine is also not feeling sharp anywhere. This is a keeper for me.

That’s good to hear man. I know John from John’s Watch Joint had some bad finishing on his. Mine is a lot better. The sharp edges are at some places and some don’t bother me while wearing the watch. I also like the dimensions on this one

Which one I Has the best quality?
@brunomarchal2807

@@adrielr5930 Probably the San Martin has the best built quality, but compared with the titanium versions, it feels heavy on the wrist. The Seestern is quite nice, but I really like the IXDAO. A big factor is the shape and tapering of the bracelet. In fact, I put the SM and Seestern for sale on the 'bay and C24.
Good review 👍 I saw another review mentioning the sharp edges, but the missing marker on the bezel 😮 well spotted, once you've seen it, it is so obvious! The sharp caseback and bezel marker are definite deal breakers for me.

Glad you liked my review. This is a watch that definitely needs a v2. They made a few versions of the 5303 homage, so this one can use some update

Now you displayed that marker issue on the bezel I can’t unsee it. The titanium looks great though.

I own the bronze version with 21mm lugs..i had no problem buy straps and i prefer the 21mm straps..only bad thing is 2 of the markers do not line up. The watch it self is magnifacent..

As good as their designs are, even if it’s not original, the QC needs to be improved
Ixdao becomes "IX Doh!!" when a marker on the bezel is missing!! I tend to avoid PT5000. It's like some weird middle-ground between NH35/NH36 and the Sellita SW200-1. I like to stick to the NHxx, but if I have an amazing piece I know will be a keeper, if they offer it with PT500/SW200, I always pay a bit more and go with the Sellita. I never go ETA if there's PT500/SW200/ETA2824 as I think Sellita is the sweet spot for those and I think in future years, that'll be the most serviceable now that ETA is Swatch Group inhouse movement maker.
@HHWatchReviews
11 ай бұрын
This one is available with the Sellita movement. Might be worth it if you’re going to keep it long time
I have BB59 San Martin made out of Stainless Steel with a PT5000 movement and it doesn't sound a bit when I twist my wrist back and forth. But I also have a Hamilton Frogman Automatic movement, which is made of Titanium, and the rotor doesn't sound either ... so I don't know what to tell ya.
Can you review the Octopus Kraken?
If this were a Tudor, these flawed pieces would get their own nickname and become highly sought-after collectibles worth many times more the subsequently fixed models. Here it's just "eww, no thanks, I'll wait till they get it right". ;-)

There are multiple markers missing on the bezel not just one. 😂 Tudor markers are over the place too.
The missing bezel marking is bad, I have the other version with the sunburst dial and I really love the watch, I have all the same niggles as you but it is still a beautiful piece

It seems a little rushed. Which is a shame because their Serica Homage seems amazing. And yes I watched Lumpip’s video. I know you guys do these reviews for the love of the game, not because you’re making money off of it. Thanks!

I don’t know if it was rushed but they could have taken a bit more time to polish things out
My rotor u can hear my friend 😅... does anyone knows how to silence it more? Or do i need to order a new pt5000 rotor and get lucky with it?
why isn’t the bezel at the 20 minute mark? 😅
Now you pointed out the markers compared to the Tudor it is also missing some around the ten, TBH the Tudor markers look really odd,unbalanced and why do the numerals go around anticlockwise on the Tudor?
@HHWatchReviews
11 ай бұрын
I don’t like how Tudor did the extra marker at the 10. I understand it’s because the number 10 takes less space but it just ruins the symmetry. Almost as bad as forgetting a marker
Does changing strap makes it wearable? Case back making it unwearable and sharp edges makes it unwearable according to one reviewer that exactly pointed it out like you, beautiful watch though

That missing marker would annoy the crap out of me. What an unnecessary mistake.
Its kind of ridiculous that it takes a 200 bucks ali-express copy to fix the flaws of the 4k usd original pelagos 39. Grade 2 titanium, applied indices and no ugly sunburst dial. Im all for it as Tudor always seek to incorporate imperfections to not draw attention from Rolex.
I wouldn't buy the watch only for the missing chapter.
At 39 mm its not a beast wish they would make a real mans watch
tudor homage 🤮🤮🤮🤮
